Devil vs Mermaid: War to be the God

Chapter :- 2.

After fighting for their love and finally getting the blessings of the almighty God, King Triton and Queen Angelia got married. They became the happiest couple among all rulers. Not only them but both of their kinds became happy with their decision, and they all started living together in one land.

The land they live in became the happiest place on earth. Mermaids and Angels tales of friendship spread among other kinds, and they started supporting them and build a relationship of friendship with them too. Only vampires and devil's kinds are the one who was not happy with them. So they started attacking them and killing everyone they could find. It created a fear of danger in all mermaids and angels' hearts.

Fighting against them would mean having a war with their rulers which King Triton didn't want at that time because Queen Angelia was pregnant with their first child at that time. Seeing no other choice, King Triton and Queen Angelia parted their land from the rest of other kinds and started living on an island surrounded by a deep and wide ocean. But the anger of revenge made its place on king Triton's heart. He was determined that if he comes across any devil in his life, he would kill him at once as they did to his tenants.

Their new land is located on an island with an ocean all around. Mermaids became happy when they were free to swim with their heart's desire in that ocean and into the open space above the ocean, Angels can fly as high as they want. They have hills, lakes, waterfalls, and many kinds of trees in their land to make their lives even more beautiful. The fruits that grow on that island and the fish they can find in the ocean are enough for both kinds to live happily.

Now it's been almost 21 years since they are living in their land peacefully. King Triton and Queen Angelia have eight daughters now. Their 1st daughter is Sylviana is 20 years old. Next, they have twins whose names are Amatheia and Andrina who are 19 years old now. Then comes their 4th daughter Marcellina, who's 18 years old. Their 5th daughter is Zenevieva, and she's 17 years old at this time. Their 6th and 7th daughters are twins named Sequanna and Savacia, who are 16 years old. And last and final Kallianassa who is 15 years old.

Among these eight daughters Zenevieva or Zene, the 5th daughter of King Triton and Queen Angelia, is the most beautiful, kind-hearted, and her parents loving daughter. But she has to endure her sisters' jealousy over her beauty and the affection she gets from their parents, all the time. Especially her big sister Sylviana or Sylvia couldn't stand the sight of her. But Zene loves her parents and sisters more than anything. She can do anything or give up anything for them.

King Triton is a huge muscled-bodied Merman with dark black hair, copper metal-like eyes tanned skin, an angry expression on his face all the time. Queen Angelia is the complete opposite of him. She is the softest and most beautiful Angel there is in her Kingdom. She has a slim figure, pale white skin, white clouds like hair, deep blue seas like eyes, and a beautiful smile on her face all the time. King Triton's Mermaid tail is big and long with blue scales and a see-through light bluefin at the end. And Queen Angelia's angel wings are big with soft white feathers which look beautiful when she flies.

At the age of 14, each of their daughters got their Mermaid tails which replicate their father's one. All of their features are also match their fathers. That means, they also have black hairs, copper eyes, and tanned skin. Only Zene was the one who got her mother's pale white skin color and blue sea-like eyes, but her hair was black and her Mermaid tail was also like her father's. And for this reason, the rest of her sisters are jealous of her because she was different from them. They think she is more beautiful than them which Zene never thought of. She always thought that she was equal to her sisters.

At first, their parents thought that Sylvia will be the one who will gain the power of both Mermaids and Angels because she was the firstborn child of them. They had their hopes up for their daughter's 16th birthday because usually, angels get their wings on that day. They always kept planning what to do or how to celebrate that day? How they are going to train their daughter to use her abilities? How to fight against enemies, and how to become the most powerful Queen there is, etc...

Little Zene was just 13 at that time, and she didn't even get her mermaid tail back then. She just kept staring at her parents and watched how her parents got excited every time they talked about that special day. How only thinking about that day made them happy. Not only them but her big sisters were also excited for the day Sylvia will become an angel. She wondered if she also gets wings like her mother and sister, will everyone love her. Especially her big sisters.

On the day of Sylvia's 16th birthday, when everyone was arranging for celebration, their parents saw Zene standing in a corner of a room and watching them doing their work. King Triton and Queen Angelia went near her and asked what she was doing there.

“Will I become an angel like Sylvia one day? Will I grow wings like you mother?” She asked her parents. They sighed to see their daughter's wonders because they don't have the answer at this moment.

“We don't know yet honey. Only time will tell.” As her father said that she became sad. King Triton and Queen Angelia also became sad to see their loving daughter's unhappy face.

“You know what? You are an Angel Zene. Being an angel doesn't only mean growing wings. Being an angel means being pure at heart. If you want to be an angel, you have to care about people, you have to protect the ones you love, you have to be kind and forgive those who are bad to you, you have to be ready to sacrifice yourself for your loved ones. And I think you already have these features inside you. If you stay pure-hearted like this, you will be our angel forever no matter what.” As her mother said that, she became so happy that she started jumping in joy.

“I will stay your angel forever mother. I promise.” She said while hugging her mother.

“Don't forget. You are my angel too little one.” Zene's father hugged her too.

Since that day, she became the happiest and kind-hearted girl in the land. No one ever saw a single drop of tear in her eyes ever. No matter what happened, she always kept smiling. Unfortunately for Sylvia, she never got her Angel wings and never got the power everyone expected. Her heart broke because of that. She always wanted to become the Queen of their land and have the power to do anything she wants. It grew her hate for her sisters more because she knows that if it's not her then one of her sisters will get that power for sure.

King Triton and Queen Angelia thought that too. So they kept waiting for the rest of their daughters to become 16 and gain that power. But nothing went as they were expecting. None of their next daughters became the angel they were expecting. Soon came the day of Zene's 16th birthday. Everyone thought that she is the one who will become their future queen because she looked like an angel and already has the features to be the Queen.

But that hope also broke when the day passed by without showing any signs of Zene's shifting. At midnight everyone got tired of waiting and went back to their rooms for the night. Zene became depressed to see everyone's sad faces. She thought that she would be the one to fulfill her parents' wish and make them happy. She doesn't like to see anyone gloomy.

Getting disappointed in herself, she ran to the secret place she found the day her big sister said some mean things to her. It was in one of the rocky areas of that island where very few people come. She comes to this place every night to have some alone time while enjoying the beauty of the starry sky and bright moon when shining ocean waves hit her Mermaid tail and rock's, creating an amazing note of music, in which she could sing her own hearts song.

She goes to her special seat, which is a big rock a few feet away from the seashore and inside the ocean water. She sits on that rock while half of her blue Mermaid leg was dipped in the water, enjoying the flow of the ocean. She stares at the moon and the sky without a blink like she's expressing her sadness to them through her eyes.

Suddenly she felt something inside her. It was like she was burning from inside. Her whole body started aching in pain. She couldn't understand what's happening but when her eyes fell down to her tail, she got frightened. For some reason, her blue tail was turning all white. Different layers of fins were coming out of her waist-down part. Not only that but her hair was also changing its color into white. She got so scared from this sudden change that she jumped in the water and quickly swim back to the land.

Without shifting back into human form, when she was ashore, she dragged herself upon the land by using her hands. The pain in her body wasn't gone at all. Instead, it increases when she was out of water. She started taking heavy breaths while clutching fists full of sands and wanted to scream for someone's help when another pain hit her backside. She felt like someone was cutting through the skin of her back as she whimpered in pain.

After going like this for few minutes, she felt her pain getting under control. Taking deep breaths she pushed herself up from the sand. As she turned around and sat herself up, she noticed that she already shifted back into her human form which she had no idea when. She was worried about what happened just a few minutes ago and decided to go to her parents for answers. But when she was getting up from the seashore, she felt like something was clutching her back. As she touched her back to see what it is, her eyes got bigger.

Zene jumped up from her place and tried to look behind. But as she was turning that thing on her back was turned with her too. Getting irritated from such stupidity, she took a deep breath and used her senses to move that thing. As she did that, a pair of big white feathered wings spread beside her like bird wings. She realized what it is. It's her Angel wings which exactly look like her mother's one but larger in size than her mother's. It was so big that if she wraps it around her body, nobody will see a single part of her body. She also got white hair like her mother. She wanted to see if she can move it by using her sense, and it did move as she wanted it to.

Zene became happy. She finally got the angel power her parents always wanted from one of her sisters. Not only that but her Mermaid form also changed into a white and more beautiful one. Now her parents will become cheerful when they find out that she got that power they wanted to see. But she wanted it to be a surprise, so she used the same technique of shifting back like she does when she changes herself from Mermaid to her normal form. Soon she noticed that her wings were disappearing from her back. She planned to change back into an angel in front of her family so that they could witness it themselves. Thinking this she ran back to her house with a joyous heart.
