“Will you sleep with me tonight?”
As the words left her lips, I immediately knew there wasn’t sèxual insinuation, which is why I made a joke.
Joking, laughing, and smiling were not things I’ve been known to do. But with Bella..Ellie, it was impossible not to. Impossible not to smile at her smile, and laugh at her small stature and fiery attitude.
Though, my smile fell when she admitted the reason for her request.
Nightmares.
Nightmares were something I was all too familiar with, and I knew very well what it was like to endure it alone.
I wanted to run to her, to be as close to her as soon as possible, but I managed to restrain myself.
After a moment of consideration, I decided that a hug would be innocent. Innocent enough.
