I was left alone in the room, dealing with Carl's announcement. 'I won't let you go.' More than the confusion of all of this, one thing lingered. In that moment, he had looked a little...a little abandoned. Like someone who got a replacement for something very beloved, and he wouldn't dare let go. I am not sure if that's it, but that's how it felt like. That's what I saw in his eyes, just for that one second. I sighed and turned away.
