Chapter 7 : Gotta feeling!!

Camilla’s POV
I walked out of the boardroom humiliated in front of fifteen colleagues including people that reported to me. Why would he do that? I felt so furious that if I saw him at this moment, I would definitely slap the s**t out of him! I said to myself as I walked back to my office.
The question I kept asking myself was why would he ask me to leave but let Michelle join the meeting.
I tried so hard to brush it off as I sat down on my computer trying to wok on different things but it just didn’t help.
After almost two hours Michelle came in and she looked like something had happened, I quickly stood up after I saw her come in.
“What happened?” I asked her as she came in
“Cammy?” She started saying as she sat down in my office
“Whats wrong why are you not saying anything?” I asked her getting impatient
“I was just offered your job in the meeting!” Michelle said to me and I stood there trying to understand what she was trying to tell me
“What?” I asked her as I widened my eyes
“Yes! I was asked if I am willing to take it” Michelle said
“And what did you say?” I asked her hoping she would say she didn’t say yes but her eyes said it all.
“You agreed, did you? How could you do this?” I asked her as tears threatened to fall
“Cammy!” She said trying to come close to me but I moved steps back
“I didn’t have any choice it was either that or I get fired” Michelle said and I just chuckled unbelievably how friends can quickly jump at your job position
“Is that so? And where does that leave me?” I asked her as I ran my fingers in my hair trying to keep calm before i lose it
“I don’t know Cammy nothing was discussed. Why don’t you talk to Mr parker?” She said and I didn’t have the strength.
“I know what he wants! His trying to make a point who’s the boss around here and that’s fine with me! I won’t be easily intimidated!” I said as I sat down in my chair, “I will clear out my desk before I knock off” I said to Michelle as I just looked at my computer
Michelle just stood up and walked out of the office without saying anything to me. I swallowed hard thinking what I should do next. Should I follow that good for nothing or just let him be? I asked myself for minutes before I finally decided to follow him where he was.
At least I needed to know why he did that, if he wanted to get rid of me he could have asked for my resignation later and i would have rendered it in peacefully. Well at least he would have to give me reasons first

Nick’s POV
I sat in my office and looked at my watch waiting for Camilla to show up in my office and when I heard a knock on my door and I knew it was Camilla knocking
I continued looking at the report on my desk as she walked in “Ms. Edwards what are you doing here?” I asked her as I looked up at her
She chuckled and looked at me like I was a demon, “Are you really asking me that? You just offered my job to somebody else not only that you humiliated me in front of my own juniors and you are asking me that. Like seriously?” she asked me and I was quiet waiting for her to finish I wanted to answer but she quickly cut me off
“I know you don’t like me but acting like this, it is wrong. You have proved your point if that’s what you wanted me to say, I might have wronged in what I was saying about you earlier and am sorry about that but I know I deserve that position because I am competent enough! She said and I simply looked at her
“Ms Edwards if you are going to be working with me, I would say try to watch what you say from now on!” I told her and she nodded
“I will make sure I work on that. I will be on my way now” She said slight bowing her head and walked out of my office.
A month Later
Camilla’s POV
It’s been three weeks since I took over from the previous finance manager and told was Michelle’s birthday which she insisted that I attend to so I had to make sure I finish everything I was doing on time.
During these pasts few days I made sure that I had stayed out of Nikolas’s way because I didn’t want to upset him. I finished up everything I was doing and Michelle just never stopped calling to find out where I was. I looked at my phone as it vibrated and I knew that was her calling me for the 100th time. I closed my laptop and packed up. I quickly rushed out of the office going to the parking lot.
I walked towards my car and saw one of the front tyres was flat. I held my head in frustration what was I going to tell Michelle when I told her that I had already started off
“Everything okay?” I heard Nickolas’s voice behind me
“My tyre is flat!” I said sounding frustrated looking at my car
“Oh! Do you have a spare tyre I can change it for you” He offered and I remembered that I had changed it a while ago but never got a spare one?
“I don’t have a spare one!” I said pacing around
“Since we are going the same direction, I can give you a ride that’s if you don’t mind” He said but that wasn’t the case
“Unfortunately, am not going home today, I have to meet a friend” I said to her as I pushed back my hair
“Well I can drop you off where you can find a taxi!” He said and I was pleased to hear that.
I quickly went and grabbed my things going to his car. Somebody’s birthday?” he asked me after I entered his car
“yes! It’s Michelle’s birthday today!” I said to him holding the present bag
“Where is the party? I can drop you off” He offered and man was I delighted to hear that
“It’s at the downtown club” I said and he drove there.

“Hey come out! I need to put my things in your car>” I said to Michelle through the phone after we arrived
“Thank you so much!” I said after I stepped out of the car
“Glad I could help! She’s here” He said lifting his hand to call her
Michelle came there and hugged me. “What took you so long?’ She said to me
“Well my car had a flat tyre! Can you put this in your car?” I asked her and she agreed.
“Do you want to join us?” Michelle asked him before we could walk away
“No thanks that fine! I wouldn’t want to intrude” He politely declined
“It’s not like you will be and am sure you will be bored at home!” Michelle said to him
“No thank you. I will see you at work tomorrow” He said turning to leave, Michelle poked my back and I just ended up inviting him over
“It wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Am sure you will enjoy” I said to him, “Please I insist!” I said as he wanted to say something
“Okay can stay for an hour” He said and Michelle was all excited
“Perfect! Cammy you can leave your bags in his car” She said giving me back my laptop bag and handbag.
“I have a feeling that tonight Is going to be a good night!” Michelle said walking ahead of us as she danced. I chuckled looking at her right now she was acting like a two-year-old.
