Anger

The VIP room of the high-end bar was filled with lingering thick smoke. Ambiguous songs echoed in the air. Ethan cast a cold glance at the woman who was entwined around him like an octopus, a look of impatience flashing across his face. With a sudden motion, he swept the woman off him. He then lifted a glass filled with crimson liquid from the glass table and downed it in one gulp. “Ouch! What’s wrong with you?” The woman, who had been pushed aside, quickly got back up and leaned toward him, her voluptuous chest pressed against him, her alluring big eyes looking at him pitifully. “Did I do something wrong? Didn’t I ignite your ‘fire’?” As she spoke, her slender arm reached toward him below the waist. Just as her hand was about to touch him, Ethan suddenly grabbed it and flung her to the ground again, then coldly spat out a word through gritted teeth: “Get lost!” His deep voice was devoid of any warmth. The woman’s expression changed, clearly frightened by his sinister demeanor. It took her a moment to regain her senses before she rushed out the door. “Hahaha!” A loud, unrestrained laugh suddenly rang out. Ethan cast a cold, expressionless glance at Ruby, his assistant and friend, who was sitting opposite him. His deep black eyes flashed with a chilling light. “Ruby, be careful! If your mouth is that wide open, a fly might fly in and make you sick.” Ethan mocked without reservation. Ruby stiffened his face but couldn’t stop the corners of his mouth from lifting. Just thinking about the thing that had made Ethan so furious made him want to laugh uncontrollably. However, the man in front of him was growing increasingly grim, and the look in his eyes was becoming more terrifying. Ruby was afraid that if he didn’t hold back, he might end up dead in the bar. “What’s wrong, Zhe Feng? You still don’t seem to be in a good mood?” Ethan leaned back against the sofa, ignoring Ruby’s question, not even bothering to lift his eyelids. Unperturbed, Ruby shook his head and continued, “Didn’t Uncle and Aunt Zuo urge you to get married again?” Ethan snorted coldly in response. Ruby’s eyes lit up, and even his brows were tinged with a smile. “No way! You told them you can’t have children, and they’re still pushing you to marry?” It was unbelievable. If it were the Zhe Feng of the past, Ruby could understand why his family would be anxious to urge him to marry. They were eager for grandchildren. But now, it was surprising that they still pressed him to marry after knowing about his condition. “But didn’t you say that the marriage candidate your mom arranged got so scared when he heard about your illness that he wouldn’t even meet you? So what are you worried about?” “There’s still one last card.” “What do you mean?” Ruby asked, confused. “My mom said she has one last trump card. As long as she can find that family, and their daughter happens to be unmarried, then she would be the only one for the Zuo family.” Ethan’s tone was flat, as if he were merely stating a matter unrelated to him. In fact, this was the expression he wore when he was extremely angry. “Wow! If that’s the case, I guess I should say congratulations!” Ruby, fearless, continued. Ethan shot him a glance, slowly stood up, and walked straight toward the door. As the door closed, Ruby’s laughter erupted completely.
