Chapter 9 –
Doctor Hastyn was informed that she had a visitor in the middle of the night. Hastyn walked to the reception area to meet her visitor, hoping not to meet any critical condition patients.
Hastyn headed to the receptionist and asked Clare receptionist about her visitor. “Excuse me, Clare. Where is my visitor?”
The receptionist was on her call, “Hold on… (Raised her head to find Doctor Hastyn) Hmmm, Doctor… That cop man is your visitor.”
Hastyn turned her head to check the person and thanked the receptionist with a gleam of a smile, “Thanks, Clare.” Clare the receptionist nodded her head in reply and continued answering the call.
Hastyn went near the cop and adjusted her throat to get the attention of the cop, who was settled in a relaxed posture, by supporting his head against the backrest of the visitor chair.
The cop opened his eyes by the throat adjusting sound of a lady and got to his feet, “Huh, Doctor Hastyn?” Hastyn nodded. The cop greeted her, “I am Anderson.”
The cop lengthened his hand expecting a handshake from Doctor Hastyn; she too shook her hand with the cop by nodding her head, “Nice to meet you, Mr Anderson. How may I help you at this time?”
The cop passed her some papers, “Doctor, you need to sign these papers. Read carefully and sign here.”
Hastyn got the papers to get the hint of what the papers were about, seized a moment to read the title of the papers.
Hastyn scratched her forehead and told, “Uhm, Mr Anderson, shall we discuss this in my room, if you don’t mind?”
The cop readily agreed, “Well, no. I won’t. Please lead the way.”

In the hospital area,
Reda waited outside the room of Doctor Hastyn for quite a long time and wondered about the visit of the cop with Hastyn.
Suddenly, the receptionist, Clare, appeared behind Reda and pulled her to the corner of the visiting area.
Reda freaked out in fear and was relieved to find Clare. Clare asked Reda, “Can you tell me what is happening to Doctor Hastyn? Why is the cop here?”
Reda told her, “I told you, cops are also humans. They too would have some illness to seek advice from physicians.”
Clare asked Reda, and she too agreed to tell her, “Recently, Doctor Hastyn was grieving over her failure. She accused herself of the poor destiny of the patient. I hope nothing goes wrong with her.”
Clare replied, “She is a good person, the most non-corrupt doctor in the city. Why does she blame herself for the loss? As a doctor, she would have seen too many cases like this.”
When Clare and Reda were in the middle of the conversation, the cop came out of the room of Doctor Hastyn with his signed documents.
The cop greeted, “All the best, Doctor. We will miss such an excellent doctor as you.”
Hastyn smiled, “Nothing is replaceable. Soon my position can be refilled by some other.”
The cop moved away; Reda asked forgiveness from Clare and dashed towards Hastyn.
Reda asked, “Doctor, anything serious?”
Hastyn replied, “Let’s go to a party.”
Reda was puzzled by her words, “Party? Why....?”
Hastyn took her long breath, “I am flying tomorrow. The cop came to hand over me the tickets and other papers.”
Reda questioned in a shock, “Flying...? Where?”
Hastyn beamed with a smile, “To Daxino Uvet.”
Reda scratched her head in confusion, “Daxi- o –what? Where is it? Oh, doctor, I will be missing you.”
Hastyn echoed, “It's Daxino Uvet. The city of dreams merged with technology.”
*****
The sun's golden rays started to diminish its brightness, passing through the transparent glasses of the skyscrapers of the city named, Daxino Uvet. It’s a land fertilized with technology, it's also known as the city of dreams to many unemployed.
Hastyn anchored on such wonderful land with many expectations and desires. She looked down at her feet, “Daxino Uvet! I am here. The land where my master Harsha lived”, she took a deep breath with closed eyes, “My master’s last breath dissolved in this air.”
The bright light emitted from the digital banners and street lights made Hastyn her eyes flicker. It took her some time to adjust her eyes against the bright lights that decorated the city.
The manly figure displayed on the mega-sized digital banners installed on the shopping mall grabbed her attention. She carefully crossed the road to the other end adjacent to the airport, hoping to hire a taxi to reach her destined place.
To her wonder, a car stopped by her side and a man in casuals came out, “Hello Miss. I am here to give you a ride.”
Puzzled Hastyn, replied him, “Sorry, I think you got the wrong person.”
The driver smiled at her and took his mobile from his pocket, “Are you Doctor Hastyn heading for the MN hospital?”
Hastyn was surprised, “Yeah, But…?”
The driver extended his hand for a shake, “I am hired by the chief of MN hospital to receive you from the airport. I am Ted, at your service.”
Hastyn smiled and shook her hands with him, “I never expected to receive such a welcome from the MN hospital”, and handed her luggage to him.
Ted, the driver returned to his seat after digging Hastyn's luggage into the trunk of the car. Hastyn was seated next to him adjusting her messy hair.
Ted looked at her and asked, “Welcome Doctor. Are you new to this place?”
Hastyn replied with a simper, “Thank you, and yes.”
Ted grabbed his seat belt, “Fasten your seat belt, Doctor. I assure you a smooth ride. Doctor, where to first? To the hospital or your place for refreshment.”
Hastyn buckled his seat belt and asked him, “Do I have a place for my stay? I thought I had to find one.”
Ted chuckled, “Of course, you do. MN hospital is no less than a Multi-National Company. It is the biggest in offering the best service to the patients as well as their doctors.”
Hastyn said, “It seems MN is covering both patients and doctors… Huh?”
Ted replied, “Yeah, you got it right. They provide accommodation for their doctors in nearby hospital areas to help the patients in case of emergency.”
Hastyn was astonished by the ethics of MN hospital and she brings to her mind of master’s words, HELP THE NEEDS AT ANY COST.
Ted’s voice brought her back from her zoned-out mind, “Where to Doctor?”
“Please head to the hospital”, Hastyn mentioned, and a taxi headed towards the MN hospital to record her arrival.
The car wheels flew across the wide luminant streets, and both digital and non-digital banners displayed the image of Karen Redclaws at different angles, portraying him as a young legend.
Hastyn asked, “Ted, who is he? Why is he honoured everywhere?”
Ted informed her, “You don’t know him? He has been taking over the internet for his recent achievement.”
Hastyn sighed in a low tone, “I am not aware of him. What did he achieve, anyway?”
Ted answered back, “The young lad received the award for his achievement in nanotech. He is the talk of the city. Also, he is one of the top-ranked billionaires of the city. You know who positioned second?”
Hastyn nodded her head in no and Ted continued, “It's Fangs' family, inheriting many companies. Yet, they can’t beat the Redclaws, who always rank beyond the Fangs family.”
The taxi tailed the road across a lot of traffic and passed noisy streets. Hastyn’s ears were never tired of Ted’s waffling, yet she took his noisy speech as her quick review of the city she was going to stay in.
The ride took merely thirty minutes to reach the MN hospital, the weird calmness filled her mind to realize the fact that she is going to halt where her master spent the last minutes of his life.
The car stopped by the entrance of MN hospital. Ted apologized to her, “Doctor, sorry if you find me noisy.”
“Oh, no. If not for you, my thirty-minute ride would have killed me”, Hastyn smiled and headed inside the hospital. She told him to wait until she returned and Ted too agreed to leave her in her place of accommodation.
