Chapter 2

Strong memories flashed through Mike’s visions when he dies, he is able to strongly conjure up memories of Jenny and their time together, how happy they were stayed with him via his memories.

The memories changed though, Jenny's body was being buried in this one, Mike started to get disturbed as more of her memories still flashed through him, he couldn't stop crying all through that day of the burial.

He had brought out every picture that they had both taken together, he had looked at them over and over and finally burst into tears.

The memory of the first day they met flashed across now, how he had helped her when her car was faulty and broke down at a particularly dangerous part of town, although she did know that at the time, from there they had then gotten each other’s contact, ever since they had been inseparable.

His eyes opened slowly, someone was shaking him lightly, he found out he was in the sitting room, surrounded by his gallery filled with Jenny's pictures and videos.

Michelle had been the one shaking him, she was trying to wake him up, he just turned his face away from her even though she put her hand in his and squeezed.

Just then his father Edward walked it, and immediately upon sighting him, Mike regained his strength and sat up.

"What are you doing here? What else do you want uhn... you killed her already so what else is there?" Mike yelled at his father furiously.

Edward signaled Michelle to give them the room, and after she left he started with his son.

"Calm down Mike... You know this is not my fault, I can explain my part in this" Edward pleaded gently, for a vampire that is almost two centuries old he was really good looking and he was very patient as well.

"Explain what exactly?... as old as you are, I can’t believe you would make such a mistake and have a mistress outside despite all the love mum has for you and shows to you, despite how you claim to love her as well even though it was hard for you to find love? how could you do this?... now your mistake has ruined my own life, the love of my life is gone, where should I start from uhn? Tell me!" Mike yelled angrily.

Deep down he knows this wasn’t entirely his father’s fault but there was no one else around for him to blame, so he poured it all on his father.

"Jenny's mum was my personal assistant back then... we went for a business trip, then along the line something came up and we had to share a room together because we couldn’t book ahead for the impromptu meeting as well, I couldn't resist her allure at that time and one thing led to another,

A few weeks after she stopped coming to work and since then I never saw her again, I didn't even know that she had been pregnant up until some weeks ago when she reached out and we met, that was when I knew she had a child for me, she explained that she did not want to ruin my family that was why she eloped back then" Edward explained.

"You couldn't resist her? you impregnated your personal assistant and did not know? Dad is that fair? On Mom, Michelle, Me? I really hate you" Mike said with fresh tears.

"I am so sorry son... I am really sorry" his father pleaded sincerely, there was no way he could’ve thought that mistake of so long ago could come back to bite him in his ass now, over twenty years later.

"Just go... Leave dad!" Mike yelled.

“I’ll go son… but please forgive me” Edward said and left, Mike fell down helplessly back to his sofa and cried his heart out, he sat there for some hours then some minutes later he stood up and took his car key and headed out, his mind set for the beach.

~Down in the deep

Princess Mylie and her best friend Selena swam about the deep heading further away from their town.

The princess was the daughter of one of the goddesses of the deep, she is the most beautiful mermaid in her town save for her mother the goddess but the goddess was rarely seen about.

Princess Mylie is gentle, loving , easy going and caring, this made every one in the deep, all merfolk and creatures alike love her deeply, but then she had a strong knack for getting into trouble and making bad choices.

"Selena c'mon let’s swim to the land above" the Princess said to Selena with a mischievous grin.

"No princess you know it is forbidden, we have been risking it all these while, no more, we mermaids and are not meant to go to the human world, we would be punished severely if we were caught, me more than you” Selena said to her a bit scared especially for herself, partly because she knows the princess won’t listen to her.

“Oh don’t be silly Selena, we will never get caught, not whilst I’m there, I just get amazed at how beautiful the world up there is, a bit rowdy and rough yes, but still beautiful in its own way" princess Mylie said to her fearful and overly cautious friend.

"Ok, but then I also heard the humans are very wicked, and that they hate mermaids, if we get caught by them we will surely be killed and used for their experiments, princess please I don't want to die now" Selena said trying to change her friend’s rigid and carefree mind.

"Oh c’mon Selena, we are way more powerful than they are so we can't possibly be killed by them... please... Just once more... c’mon" princess Mylie pleaded with her friend, knowing that she would have no choice but to comply eventually.

"Oh I also heard they have powerful creatures as well and that we can’t differentiate those from the ordinary humans, surely if we are caught by those then we will be definitely be killed and eaten" Selena said still trying to take her princess' interests away from the surface.

"Fine then I’ll go by myself, you just stay down here" princess Mylie said and pouted acting as if she was annoyed with her friend.

“Okay, okay fine, fine, let’s go” Selena said giving up, one thing she could never do was leave the princess to be on her own, things would definitely get worse by then, so they swam to the surface a happy princess and a skeptical friend.
