There was an awkward silence as Melanie took in the scene before her. Aria seemed to be looking at Melanie brightly as if it was totally normal for her to be sitting here. Antonio looked like he'd just swallowed rat poison.
"How are you Melanie?" Aria inquired kindly.
"I'm fine, how are you?" Melanie responded, trying to be a courteous host.
"Aria was just leaving," Antonio cut in sharply.
Melanie looked at her father, surprised at the hard edge to his voice. He seemed upset.
"I wasn't," Aria retorted, crossing her arms. "But since you're such a nice host..." Aria trailed off and shrugged her shoulders daintily.
"Did I just walk in on the middle of some important pack business?" Melanie couldn't help but query.
