Get Lost

Philip groaned in pain when he woke up. He clutches his head as he slowly sits up. “The first hour after waking up will be quite a hassle like you are having a hangover.” Philip scrambled out of the bed he was in when he heard the voice. He winced in pain as he looked around. In the corner of the room, he was in, was Vincent seated on an armchair. The Sun Guardian was sipping what smells like coffee from a paper cup. Philip furrowed his eyebrows at him. “What are you doing here?” Philip asked and Vincent looked at him with his eyebrow arched. “Are you yourself?” he asked. Philip looked at the Sun Guardian like he has grown another head. “What do you mean if I am myself? Aside from the splitting headache, I feel fine. Now tell me what is going on and why are you here?” Philip ranted. Vincent narrowed his eyes on Philip and then he sighed and stood up. “The splitting headache you are feeling is partly because I put you to sleep, more like I put your wolf to sleep,” Vincent said and Philip was confused, especially since he couldn’t feel his wolf consciousness. “And why would you do that? I was just on a run yesterday and you put me to sleep?” Vincent looked at Philip intently. “What was your last memory of yesterday?” he asked. “I told you; I was on a run,” Philip answered. “What else do you remember?” Philip heaved a deep breath and tried to remember what else happened. He remembered going on a run and ending up in front of the infirmary building. And after that everything is blurry, but he can remember smelling a sweet addicting scent of caramel and strawberries. “I went on a run and I ended up in front of the infirmary building. I also remember smelling caramel and strawberries.” He said. “What else?” Vincent asked and Philip shook his head. “I don’t remember anything else.” Vincent once again let out a sigh. “Lord Philip, I believe your wolf took over yesterday, pushing you to the very back when he sensed your mate.” Philip was surprised by what the Sun Guardian said. “What?” “Lord Philip, you found your mate yesterday.” Philip was frozen on the spot after hearing what the Sun Guardian had to say. And when he got past the surprise, in just a few strides, he was in front of Vincent and grabbed his collar. “What do you mean about my mate?” Philip asked and Vincent remained calm. “Where is she? Who is my mate?” he asked. Vincent grabbed his hands and pried them off his shirt. “You really don’t remember?” Vincent asked and Philip once again grabbed his shirt. “I wouldn’t ask you if I remember!” Philip growled as the Sun Guardian is testing his patience. Vincent sighed before he answered. “You are mates with the princess,” he said and Philip furrowed his eyebrows, confused and curious as to which princess was, he talking about. “What princess?” “The newborn princess. The twin Alphas’ baby daughter.” Philip gawked at the Sun Guardian after hearing who his mate is. And after getting past that shock, he started asking questions. “How is that even possible?” “The Goddess paired you,” Vincent answered. “Where is she?” “Still in the infirmary building with her brother and mother.” “I must see her.” Philip said and he was about to leave when Vincent stopped him. He even growled at the Sun Guardian when he thought he was keeping him from his mate. “I need to see mate!” he growled, barring his sharp canines at him. “I understand that you are excited to see your mate, Lord Philip but you must understand that your mate is a baby. A few hours old baby. Her fathers wouldn’t let you near her in this situation,” Vincent told him. “I don’t care what they think! I will see my mate by hook or by crook!” Philip snapped and pushed Vincent out of the way and left the room. Vincent groaned and followed the werewolf elder. When he was able to catch up to him, Vincent grabbed his arm and stopped him. “Lord Philip, for your safety, please do not go to your mate,” Vincent said. “And why is that?!” “Lord Philip, it’s not the twins you have to worry about. Like you, they couldn’t also get close to the babies.” Philip furrowed his eyebrows. “What do you mean?” “Lady Rosella is in his possessive mama bird mode. She will kill whoever comes near her babies. Yesterday, you almost died in her hands if the twins didn’t save you and stopped you from going back inside.” Vincent said and Philip was surprised by it. “Only Lady Rosella can only be the one to decide when and who can approach her babies.” Philip clenched his teeth and fists. He knew the danger of facing an ancient in killing mode, but he couldn’t ignore the fact that he has a mate. For centuries, he has waited for his mate. He patiently waited for his other half, the one paired by Moon Goddess to be his partner. Despite everyone around him finding their mates, except him, he still waited. And now that his mate is here, he can no longer wait. “I can’t just wait here, and do nothing,” Philip said and then he dashed away from the Sun Guardian. Philip runs in the direction of the infirmary building in hopes to see his mate. Vincent groaned and followed him. When Philip got to the infirmary building, the smell of caramel and strawberries infiltrated his nostrils and it made his heart race and mouth water. The scent is coming from his mate and it’s like she’s calling up to him. Philip was about to run inside when there was an explosion from the top floor of the infirmary building. And then he felt a very strong aura that shook his core. His eyes widened in fear as watched the people around start running like headless chickens, running away from the building. “What the hell happened? An attack?” Philip asked and then Vincent who caught up to him let out an audible sigh. “That is no attack. That is an angry phoenix, throwing a tantrum,” Then from the hole in the wall where the explosion happened, two figures were thrown out of it and fell to the ground. When Philip and Vincent jogged towards where the two figures fell, they realized that they are none other than the twin Alphas. Alpha Lykos and Alpha Lynox are both lying on the crater, looking above, where they were thrown out with an apologetic face. “Sorry!” The twins yelled in unison. “Get lost! All of you!” They heard Roe’s roar from the top floor of the infirmary building. The twins sighed in defeat and got up. When they saw Philip, they both snorted. “If you want to end up like us…” “Go ahead, be my guest,” The twins told the werewolf elder. Philip looked up and gave up on seeing his mate at that moment. Even though his need to see his mate is giving him so much energy, he couldn’t risk his life and get barbecued by the ancient bird.
