A Dream; A Nightmare

Days and weeks passed and gradually, Roe slowly let her guard down and be less protective. She also moved back to their home with the twins. But the fear of something will happen to her children is still there so she asked the Sun Guardians to guard them. The twin babies began to grow big and strong each day. The twin Alphas would often bring work back home to spend time with their babies while working on some documents. In two months, the twins were able to move around, and their giggles are like music to their parents’ ears. Lysandra and Fiero have been their parents’ pride and joy, and they could elevate their mood and alleviate their exhaustion. Time went by fast and every time Philip would visit the pack, he was only allowed to see his mate from a distance. Despite his wolf clawing his way out to go to their mate, Philip holds him in and honored the wishes of his mate’s parents. Even his close aide, his assistant Dirk would feel bad for his boss. “My Lord, are you really just going to stand here while your mate is just a few meters away?” Dirk asked Philip. They are by the black Escalade at the Alpha’s Villa’s driveway. They are standing there, as Philip looks in the direction of the villa’s second-floor balcony where Roe was standing, with baby Lysandra in her arms. “It’s better to abide by their rules, Dirk. They are her parents and I too would do the same if my months-old baby is mated to a centuries-old man.” Philip said. Dirk who really felt bad for his master just couldn’t let it go. “But you haven’t seen her up close, my lord.” He said and Philip smiled. “Even if I couldn’t, I’m sure my Lysandra would be as beautiful as her name,” he said. Then Dirk thought of something and turned towards his master. “But you are her mate, master. I can help you see her.” He said. Philip looked at his assistant. He knows Dirk can come up with ways that can help him get close to his mate. Dirk is after all a wizard that can make the impossible, possible. Philip sighed and patted his assistant’s shoulder. “Let us go. I need to go back to Stone Castle.” He said and then Dirk let out a sigh of frustration and opened the vehicle’s passenger’s door. Philip climbed into the vehicle and then Dirk closed the door before he got into the front passenger’s seat. As the Escalade drove away, Annabelle appeared and approached Roe. “Are you really going to let the werewolf elder stand that far to just get a glimpse of Lady Lysandra?” she asked and then Roe smiled. “If he can stand there just to get a glimpse of my daughter then I’m pretty sure he will be patient with her in the future. Let’s just say that this is his training grounds.” Roe answered. One day, the Queen and the Alpha Lord came to visit and they are thrilled to meet their new grandbabies. They are in the Alpha’s Villa’s salon, having tea. The Queen had Lysandra in her arms while Alpha Liam held Fiero. “You have a fiery daughter, Rosella.” The Queen said. “You can see it, your majesty?” Roe asked and Queen Camilla nodded. The twins and Alpha Liam on the other hand looked at the women with a confused look on their faces. “What are you talking about?” Alpha Liam asked, and then the Queen looked at him and smiled. “The auras. Little Lysandra here has the fiery aura just like her mother.” Queen Camilla answered. “Roe said she inherited her phoenix powers,” Lynox said and his mother nodded. “Figures.” “If that is the case, she’ll turn into a bird instead of her lycan form?” Alpha Liam asked. “It’s not like that, Liam.” The Queen started. “A phoenix is a solitary creature. That doesn’t mean she lives alone, more like there is only one to ever exist. Remember, when she died, she just burst into flames and was reborn from the ashes. Her life is just a cycle, so Lysandra cannot and will not turn into a bird, because the bird is her mother.” She explained and Roe nodded. “Though she cannot turn into a Phoenix, like me, for sure, Lysandra can manifest every ability that I have,” Roe added. Then Alpha Liam looked at Fiero who was in his arms, playing with his saliva. “How about Fiero? Will he inherit too?” he asked and Roe shook her head. “Since I am a female Phoenix, my ability goes to my female offspring,” she said. “What if our child is only Fiero, will he inherit your powers?” Lykos asked and once again Roe shook her head. “He won’t because he is not female like me.” She answered and then Lykos frowned. “That’s male discrimination.” He grumbled and his twin nodded. Roe smiled and then she reached out to caress Fiero’s head. “But he inherited his dads’ powers and strength. He has less burden compared to his sister.” Roe mumbled softly. The way she spoke was so soft that not everyone could catch what she said, just the Queen. “By the way, it has come to my knowledge that Lord Philip is our young Lysandra’s mate,” The moment the Queen mention Philip’s name, Lysandra started giggling and the twin Alphas groaned. “Nothing passes your radar, mother,” Lynox grumbled and his twin nodded. Alpha Liam who was unaware looked surprised. “What?” he asked and The Queen looked at him. “It is true. He couldn’t stop thinking about our little Lysandra even during meetings.” She said. “Isn’t she too young for him?” Alpha Liam asked, and then the Queen straightened her back. “Just like how young you are for me.” She said. “I said the same, your majesty,” Roe said looking at her mates, and then the boys pouted. “I know she is still young but they are mates, so don’t even think about breaking them apart. Just set some boundaries while she is young.” The Queen paused and looked at her twins. “I hope you two will not do anything stupid.” She hissed. “Yes, mother.” Roe then looked at the Queen. “For now, Lord Philip is only allowed to see Lysandra from a distance. As she grows that distance will lessen. And when she is old enough to start learning, I’d like for Lord Philip to teach her, especially when it comes to tactical planning and stuff.” Roe said and her mates look at her. “Do you want our daughter to be a warlord?” They asked at the same time and Roe looked at them. “What is wrong with that? I don’t want her to grow up pampered and doesn’t know anything about fighting. She is a princess, yes, but I also want her to be able to not only protect herself but her people as well,” Roe told them and the Queen smiled. “I agree with your idea, Rosella.” *******************************. Meanwhile, back in Stone Castle, Philip fell asleep while working on the documents on his office desk. And as he sleeps, he drifted into a dream. It was not just a dream but a nightmare. In that nightmare, he was in a wide grass field. He looked around to see if there is anyone else there or if there are any landmarks, but he found nothing. He was about to take a step when he heard a baby crying. The cries turned into wails and somehow, hearing it made his heart ache. Having such a feeling can only mean one thing, it was his mate. Now he frantically looks around for her, hoping she is all right. And when he sniffed the air, he can smell her scent, and he used that to locate her. He runs through the grass field, looking for Lysandra. And when he finally pinpoints her location, he runs in that direction. But when he got there, he halted his steps and was horrified to see the small body of his mate in the arms of a horrific creature. Philip’s eyes widened when he saw the creature of humanoid form, with beady eyes and a huge mouth with a row of razor-sharp teeth like a piranha. He can feel his heart hammer against his chest, and when he tried to call out Lysandra’s name, no voice came out of his lips. And when the creature turned to him, it seems like it was taunting him as he held the little body of his mate and licked her plump cheek. When the creature nipped her cheek, drawing blood, baby Lysandra started crying, making Philip feel immense anger that he shifted into his wolf. When he saw the creature was about to take another bite, Philip pounced on the creature and tried to bite its head. “My Lord!” Philip’s eyes opened and then he looked around, and he was in his office. And when he looked down, he saw his assistant, Dirk cowering in the corner of the room. He tilted his head and then he saw his reflection on the cabinet’s glass door; he was surprised that he is in his wolf form. He immediately shifted back into his human form and he was kneeling on the carpeted floor. Dirk stood up and grabbed the blanket draped over the couch and wrapped it around the naked Philip before he helped him stand. “My lord, are you okay?” he asked as he noticed that Philip looked spooked. “I should ask you that. I attacked you.” Philip said as he sat on the armchair. “Not really my lord, you just pounced on me,” Dirk told him. “It’s the same.” Then Dirk rushed towards the office snack corner and got Philip a bottle of water. He removed the cap and gave the bottle to his master and let him drink. “If I may ask master, what made you suddenly shift while you were sleeping?” Dirk asked and then Philip gave him back the bottle of water. Philip heaved a deep breath before answering. “I was having a nightmare. It was terrible.” “What is?” “I was in a grass field and there was no one else there but me. There is also no landmark. Then I heard her cry.” Philip said. “Who?” “My mate.” Dirk got confused and curious at the same time. “She is being held captive by a creature. It was a horrific humanoid creature with beady eyes and razor-sharp teeth. That bastard had my mate, it was about to devour her so I attacked.” Philip paused and looked at Dirk. “I’m sorry if I pounced on you.” He continued. “It’s all right, my Lord. But I think you just dreamed of a Gadajdu.” Dirk said. “What is that?” Philip asked. “It’s an ancient creature lurking in the dark. It’s a humanoid predator that hunts throughout the caves and tunnels, living in the darkness and on the edge of areas with minimal light. Waiting to leap out onto its unexpecting prey whether it is an animal or human.” Dirk explained. “How did that thing get into my dream with Lysandra in its claws?” Philip asked. “That is something I cannot explain, my lord. But we should be glad that it was just a dream because if it was in the real world, the creature won’t pause and just eat its prey.” Philip suddenly felt scared for his mate. He knew that it was just a dream but he was scared for her. “I need to know if she is safe,” he mumbled and then he looked at Dirk. “Dirk, you said you can do something and let me see her up close.” He said and Dirk nodded. “I still feel the fear in my heart. I fear that something might happen to her. I need to see her with my eyes if she really is okay.” Philip told his assistant. Dirk looked intently at his master and let out an audible sigh. “Are you sure about that, my Lord?” he asked. “Yes.” Philip answered positively like he hasn’t been sure about any of his decision, just that. Dirk seeing his desperation nodded. “Let me get things ready,”
