LUKE'S POV
-----
As soon as Leah fled for changing into another dress, I flirted with another lady who was displaying her dress to me, specifically. She looked good in that dress and I informed her that. She nodded and left in search of another one.
I loitered for too long for Leah to come out, but she wouldn't. But, I was involved with the other girls asking for my advice. Ultimately, I had a call from Lauren and she informed me that Uncle James had a heart attack and my eyes widened.
I immediately thumped on Leah's door repeatedly and the door opened. But instead of Leah, I found another girl in there. My face scrunched in confusion as I remembered Leah walking into that trial room.
"Leah?" I questioned, looking at the unknown woman who had opened the door.
"Sorry!" I muttered and I scurried out. I tried to find Leah, but I couldn't. I groaned internally. My playful mood was lost and I was anxious, initially, for Uncle James and additionally, for Leah.
I called her but she wouldn't take my call. She must be furious about the remarks I made. It was only to piss her off. It's working, though.
She looked elegant in anything. I was just teasing her and she was now furious.
I immediately tracked her phone's GPS and found her nearby in some park. I hurried there immediately. Once there, I searched for her, but no luck. Finally, I found her sitting with her heels off. She looked strained, in a different way, but was trying to calm down.
I had to break the news to her and that was the worst part. My heart already ached thinking about the pain she’ll go through.
I hustled to her and shouted at her. She yelled back and I realised my hunch was right. She was upset about the remarks. I finally halted fighting with her. I hugged her tightly. She asked me what it was and I knew I had to notify her. I had to gather courage.
"Uncle James had a heart attack." And I felt her crumble into my arms. I couldn't see her falling weak and I was going to hold her tight, no matter what. I was going to be by her side, by everything.

LEAH'S POV
-----
Once Luke broke the news, it took instants to finally comprehend what he said and implied. I clutched him for support to hold myself up and then shoved him away.
"Leah..." He started, but I stopped him.
"Tell me this is a sick joke and I'll still forgive you! Tell me, Luke!" I yelled at him. He just shook his head and I clenched his collar and pulled him to me and slowly my hands surrounded his neck as I took his support, once again.
"Leah...everything's going to be fine, okay?" I could hear him but he wasn't sure either. But I nodded anyway.
"We'll go to the hospital now. Please, stay strong. I'm going to be there with you." I nodded at him. He held my waist, as I put my head on his chest and stepped towards the car. He also held my heels and my bag.
We both reached the car and Luke started driving. He held my shivering hand the whole ride and kept glancing at me. We finally reached the hospital. I left my bag in the car and wore my heels.
"James Parker, Emergency Ward." Luke was the one who enquired that to the receptionist. She informed us where he was and Luke guided me through the path. I was glad that he was here with me.
I found our family. Everyone sat on the chairs looking stressed and Uncle Jacob standing there with a hand on his head.
"Leah, sweetheart," Uncle Jacob let out as soon as he saw me. I left Luke's hand and rushed to Uncle Jacob. He hugged me and stroked my back.
"James will be fine, sweetheart. I'm here and so is Luke. Everything will be alright." He coaxed and I nodded. He released me from the hug and finally, I walked to Mom and Lauren. I hugged both of them.
"He'll be fine, Mom." I cooed and Lauren nodded with me.
Lauren then told everyone how she had found Dad and how terrified she was. I couldn't think of things that would've happened if Lauren wasn't there on time.
"Are you fine now?" I asked Lauren and she nodded. Even though she agreed, she still looked pale but I didn’t drag it.
"Let's wait and see what happens," Lauren mumbled and I nodded. We sat on the chair waiting for what was supposed to happen.

3 hours later...
"Here's coffee." Luke presented me one glass after he was done giving everyone a drink. I just nodded and took it. He pulled the glass out of my hand and put it by my mouth. I drank it as I looked at him.
"He'll be fine. Trust me." Luke sounded way relieved than he was before and it strengthened me. I nodded. I took another sip of my coffee and then pushed the coffee to his mouth.
"You haven't bought anything for yourself. Have it." He drank the coffee and then smirked.
"You know that it's an indirect kiss, right?" He flirted shamelessly and I just shook my head at him.
"Luke, your charms don't work on me." I shooed him off and he acted like he was hurt. I just laughed.
"Well..." We heard an unknown voice and my head immediately perked up. The doctor was out and I felt my heart race.
"Well, Mister Parker is out of danger now. The arrest wasn't major, but you were here on time. Glad about it. Also, he's to be kept under observation for a few days before we can finally release him." He informed us and I sighed in relief.
"Also, he's still weak. Any kind of shock might be a severe problem." He warned before he finally left and we sighed.
"That's a piece of good news, I suppose," Luke muttered and I gave him a look but then shook my head. I nodded at him.
