LEAH'S POV ----- "I was here to tell you that your task is done." He announced with a smirk and for a moment I was unaware until he winked at me and then I realised it. Male PA. I smirked. Now deal with this, Luke Hemmington. "Thank you so much, Uncle Jacob! You're the best!" I gave him a peck on his cheek and he chuckled. "Bye, sweet. Work hard, Luke." He said and immediately vanished from the cabin presumably wanting to eat his favourite dish. "What task was he talking about?" Luke questioned me and I yearned to lie, but I thought of it the other way. I wanted him to squirm for the answer. "Just...your punishment," I said casually and sat on my chair. I was feeling like I was high and mighty today. It was good to see Luke struggle. "And, what is my punishment?" He was now very curious and I was typically loving it. He said leaning over my table as I sat down. "Well..." I was about to make something up but my phone interrupted me. Saved, hush! "Yeah, Mom?" I questioned because it was unusual for Mom to call me. I was anxious thinking if something happened to Dad. But, she sounded happy. "Leah, Lauren is coming to visit. She'll be landing today." She said and I was wide awake. I stood up from my seat. I put the phone on speaker for Luke who was squabbling to hear the conversation. "Hello, Aunt Ella!" He greeted her and I could feel Mom being cheerful. Mom typically adored Luke. Everyone's parents cherished Luke, even his. His charms manoeuvred on everyone except me, of course. "Luke, my darling. Well, Lauren is coming today. I'm sending the flight details and you guys get her home." Mom declared on the phone. Luke grinned at me. "Aunt Ella, don't you worry about that. I'll take care of both your daughters." I grunted at his statement. "Luke! Always a charmer. Get on the task, I have too much work to do. Bye, both of you." She announced and hung up before anything else. "That's a surprise! Lauren is finally coming home. I'm so happy." I muttered cheerfully. "Yeah, finish the little tasks left until I check her flight details." He said and I nodded at him. I was encouraged and thrilled. ----- "That's awful!" I grumbled sadly as I conversed with Lauren. "I know. Luke booked a good hotel nearby the airport, for the weather is terrible. It might extend to a day until I get back on my flight." I sighed. The weather was horrible and her flight had landed in Geneva, too far from us. "Hmm. I hope everything will be fine. Just take care and have a good sleep. I'll call you later." I told her as I hung up. The network was poor, too. Mom was worried, too. But, Luke accompanied me home to handle Mom. She was better after Luke spoke to her. We both stopped by Dad and he seemed fine, except worried for Lauren. "I think you both should rest, it's too late, already. You're doing better doesn't mean you can be lenient." I said to Dad and Mom agreed, still looking stressed. "Lauren is fine. She's in one of the best and safest hotels. You guys don’t worry. I'm here, right?" Luke clarified to Mom and Dad, they smiled. "Luke, you stay here, it's too late anyhow. I'll talk to Jacob, okay?" Dad told Luke and he nodded. Anyways, I wouldn't have allowed him to go, for it was a big day and Luke put all his efforts into getting Lauren to a safe place. He was fatigued. "Have Richie heat the food." Mom said and I nodded. We both exited the room after wishing them a good night. "You leave and get freshened up until then I'll talk to Richie," I said to Luke and he strode to my room. I strode to the kitchen and found Richie. He smiled glancing at me. "Could you heat the food?" I asked him with a smile and he nodded. "Of course." "What's for the menu, anyway?" I inquired to him, curiously. "Spaghetti, Roasted Chicken and scotch egg with curry mayo, some soup with a side of apple pie." He said and I was fine with the food. "Leave the scotch egg, Luke doesn't like it. Rest all you get them on the table. Till then, I'll be back." I smiled at him as he nodded and I instantly left for my room. I entered the room and Luke was still in the bath. I walked into my closet, striding to a corner that was covered with Luke's clothes. I pulled out a pair of navy blue night suit that consisted of a navy blue t-shirt and a jogger. "Luke, here's your clothes," I said and handed him the clothes. I went and bought a pair of satin night suit for me that consisted of shorts and a shirt. "Go and get ready soon, I'm hungry." Luke groaned. I immediately finished my bath and there he was dozed off on the chair. I shook him and he woke up. "Let's go." He nodded and rose as we both sauntered towards the dining table. ----- We finished eating our dinner and we both were full to our throats. We were too hungry, back then. We waddled back to the room and settled on the bed. "I ate a ton, today," Luke muttered as he slumped on the other end of the bed. He was rubbing his stomach, just like how I had done a few seconds ago. A very cramped stomach was also a crisis. "Me, too. I'd love to sleep, please." I said and slid down in the feather-soft bed. Luke slid beside me, on the right side and I let out a big yawn. "Switch the lights off," I murmured, sleepily. Luke hummed and the room was met with darkness. I felt nice. "Good night, sweetheart." He muttered softly and I smiled. "Night, loser." I teased but he was already into sleep to even fight with me and even I fell asleep embracing my dreams.
