CHAPTER 11February 19 Monday, 6:00 p.m. Sal waited in his Virginia motel room until dark before heading to his house. He wasn’t sure who was trying to kill him, but they probably wouldn’t be watching the place since the fishing boat captain had, no doubt, reported him safely disposed of. In a few days, his wife would report him missing to the local police. After that, any surveillance on her would stop, and she’d be safe. Even if the fishermen had learned of his escape through the local grapevine, they would have a powerful incentive to keep their mouths shut and enjoy the money. He thought about Angela.
