Frank decided to play a hunch based on information that Vickie had dug up, and he wanted to see Saunders’s reaction. He pulled into the parking lot of Amertek Electronics a little after nine the next morning. He parked in a visitor parking space, marked yellow, close to the main entrance. He walked gingerly on the newly sanded ice-coated walkway. Saunders’s office assistant looked at him with an early morning poker face, pinched red from the cold.
“Do you have an appointment?” She glanced at his business card.
“No, just tell him Frank Adams needs to see him.”
