ARES’S POV

I was feeling uneasy because I could feel Valentina’s emotions, with my own. I was trying hard to sleep but nothing seemed to go according to my way. I was nervous.
As a King, I shouldn’t be so dependent on a few words from a traitor but I had a gut feeling, too.
Erebus – I could tell you…you’re not wrong. Erebus suddenly mind-linked me and I was startled to hear his voice in this complete silence.
Me – How can you say that? I asked him. He was the one with whom I was completely open. He knew me, my vulnerabilities and my strong pursuits.
Erebus – Because I know you, Ares. We’ve been through a lot all this time. I know we have to protect our mate, too, this time but we know we don’t lack in capabilities. Erebus’s words were comforting to me.
