Chapter Two

3263 Words
Olivia Grey: I stretched my hand, grabbing my phone off the bedside table as my alarm went off. I turned it off with a groan, and flopped back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling for a moment. It was 9 AM, and I had to get a move on, or I was going to be late. Today was the day that Amelia and I leave to go to her parent's estate in the countryside, and I'm not going to lie, I still have doubts about going. But I already committed to going, and knowing Amelia, she'd drag me out of here by my hair if I told her I didn't want to go anymore. So, I sucked it up, standing and stretching my muscles, before heading into the bathroom. I had to leave by 10:30, because Amelia's place was thirty minutes from here. So, I quickly made my way into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, before I pulled my hair into a messy bun. I studied myself in the mirror for a moment, trying to see what everyone else does.  I guess you could say I was pretty. I had naturally tanned skin with brown curls that had gold highlights and fell down my back. I had big green eyes that had little flecks of gold in them, with a tiny button nose, and plump pink lips. I also had high cheekbones, which everyone seemed to die over, though I don't know why. And well, to quote the douchebag that I had the pleasure of once dating, "You have the body of a Greek goddess." Still wasn't enough to keep him from cheating. I sighed, shaking my head to clear my thoughts before taking off the tank top and panties that I had put on to sleep. "f**k!" I jumped as the cold water came splashing down on me when I turned on the shower. Of course the water heater was out again. I would go say something to landlord, but what's the point? It's not like I'm going to be here for the next two months. I tried to finish my shower as quick as possible, because the cold was becoming too much to bear. Then I got out of the shower, drying my skin off, and walking back into the bedroom. I walked over to my wardrobe, contemplating what to wear. Usually I would wear jeans and t -shirts, cause I'm not the girliest girl out there, but I was meeting Amelia's family for the first time and I wanted to make a good impression. Can't have them questioning the kind of friends Amelia keeps. I looked through the few remaining pieces of clothes that I had not packed, before I found something decent. It was a flirty blue dress, with ruffles that came down to my knees. It had cap sleeves, and showed a tiny bit of cleavage without being too much. I put on a pair of underwear and bra, before putting my deodorant and my lotion. After I was done with that, I put the dress on, stepping into my matching blue wedges, before going into the bathroom. I pulled my hair out of the messy bun it was in, putting my favorite styling products in it, before pulling it up into a high bun. When I was done, I put on some lipgloss on my lips, before glancing at myself in the mirror and walking out. No time for makeup today. I checked the time and saw that it was 9:44, which meant I had 16 minutes until I left. My phone began ringing and I picked it up, seeing that it was Amelia. "Hey Mi Mi. What's up?" "Change of plans Livy. Mum and dad sent the chauffeur earlier, and he's here already. We're on our way to pick you up right now, and we should be there in about 25 minutes." I mentally groaned, before responding. "Okay, that's not a problem." I said. "Great! See you soon." She hung up, and I sighed, chucking my phone onto the bed. I walked out of the small bedroom, going into the tiny kitchen, where I only had cereal and a little milk left. At least there wasn't any food that was going to spoil and waste. I emptied the rest of my Apple Jacks into the bowl, pouring the rest of the milk that remained into the bowl as well, before sitting in the living room and eating. I watched Spongebob as I did, giggling at his and Patrick's stupidity. I washed my dishes and curled up on the chair, watching another episode, before I heard my phone go off. Mi Mi ~ We're outside. I didn't bother to respond, just grabbed my things, making sure everything was turned off before making my way downstairs. As I stepped out of the building, I could barely contain my surprise when I saw the limo out there, with a tall older man standing next to it. Of course our ride is a limo. Amelia sent her window down and grinned at me, and I gave her a weak smile back. "Good morning." I said as I approached them. "Good morning Miss. I'm Brent. I will be Miss Amelia's and your driver for the two months that you stay at the manor." Brent said, taking my suitcase from me. "Oh, um, thank you." I said as he opened the door for me.  Amelia scooted over to make room for me to come in and as I settled in, Brent closed the door behind me. "Are you excited?!" She asked and I gave her a small smile. "I'm more nervous than anything. I mean this is the first time that I'm meeting your family. What if they don't like me?" "Stop being such a worry wart! If I love you, they'll love you." She said. "But-" "No buts. I promise you they'll love you. Now, I must warn you though, my family is a little on the crazy side." She said, and I laughed. "I figured they must be since you're a little on the crazy side too." I teased, making her giggle. "Yeah we're a crazy bunch, but we love and care for each other deeply. I know you're going to be apart of the family in no time." She said. I wasn't sure about all of that, but I didn't voice it to her. Who knows, maybe I will be wrong. "How long is it going to take for us to get there?" I asked instead. "About two hours. It's not too far out." She said, and I nodded. "It's going to be fun." She said, and I gave her a weak smile. Somehow I doubt that. ——————————— "We're here!" Amelia sang, and I looked out the window, almost swallowing my f*****g tongue. We were outside huge wrought iron gates, waiting for them to open. Then, we began to drive up to the house. As we drove down the gravelly road, I looked off to the side, and I saw a huge pond, with neatly trimmed grass surrounding it peeking through the manicured shrubs that lined the road. It took us approximately two minutes before we were pulling up to a circular driveway, which featured a huge water fountain and a beautiful well kept lawn. My jaw almost dropped when I saw the size of the house in front of us. Huge was an understatement. The house looked like a modern English mansion with a huge entry way. It was painted white, and featured many floor to ceiling windows. My god. The size of the house was really intimidating. I swallowed my nerves, turning to an excited Amelia who was bouncing in her seat. "C'mon! I already texted mum and everyone is inside waiting for us." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the limo with her. "Wait! What about our bags?" I asked as she dragged us to the front door. "Brent will handle them." She waved me off. The giant doors opened as soon as we walked up to them, and Amelia squealed as she ran inside, hugging the person who opened it. "Chrissy! What are you doing here? I thought you had to work?" I heard her ask as I awkwardly stood at the door. "I did, but you know I could never miss my baby sister's return." A deep voice responded. I stood there twisting my hands together, feeling slightly uncomfortable as they talked. "Oh! How silly of me. I didn't introduce you to my friend." Amelia said. "What friend?" Her brother replied, confused. "She's right- Oh." Amelia finally reappeared seeing me still standing outside of the door. "Why are you still standing out there? Come inside." She pulled me in, and walked us over to where her brother was. And all I can say is, damn. He's f*****g hot. He was tall, around 6'1, with a lean but muscular build. He had Amelia's dark blue eyes and her ash blonde hair, but that's where the similarities ended. Where Amelia had pale, soft ivory skin, his was lightly tanned and smooth. "Well hello. Who's this Lia?" He purred, running his eyes over my body. My cheeks heated up, and I looked down, refusing to meet his eyes. "This is my best friend, Olivia, and she's off limits to you Chrissy." She pointed a stern finger at him, causing him to raise his arms in surrender. "Livy, this is my brother Christian. He's the second oldest." She said. "Nice to meet you." I said shyly, holding my hand out for him to shake. He took my hand in his, bringing it up to his lips and placing a soft kiss on it, making my cheeks heat up even more. "Nice to meet you too." He murmured, gazing at me. "Okay, that's enough. Where are the others?" Amelia pulled me away from him, causing him to chuckle. "They're in the living room." She dragged me off to the right and I followed her in a daze. I could feel Christian following behind us, and I felt his eyes on my ass, making my cheeks even redder. When we made it into the living room, there was a chorus of squeals, as everyone got up to greet Amelia. I stood off to the side and Christian came and stood next to me. "Sorry about them, it's just been a while since Lia came home from college." He said softly, and I nodded. "Yes, I know. It's been three months since she's been back here." I said with a small smile. "Everyone, I want you to meet my friend Olivia." Amelia turned her attention to me, and beckoned me over. "Hi everyone." I said, blushing as they all focused their attention on me. Damn, they were all  gorgeous. It's not fair. "Livy, this is my grandmum Camilla." She pointed to the older elegant woman in the room, who had kind blue eyes with a few wrinkles around her soft face. The woman surprised me by embracing me tightly, and I hugged her back a little hesitantly. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Camilla." I said shyly, as she let me go, clasping my hand tightly in hers. "Please, call me Camilla." She beamed, and I couldn't help but nod. Her aura was warm and inviting, and she seemed very kind. "Livy, this is my grandad, Alistair." The older man approached me, and gave me a firm handshake. "Nice to meet you, Olivia." He said. "Likewise, Sir." I said, but he waved me off. "Please call me Alistair." He said and I nodded. "This is my mum, Katrina." Just like her mother, Katrina came and embraced me, giving me a tight squueze. "Oh, you don't know how excited I am to finally meet you! Ever since my little Lia told me about you, I wanted to meet you myself!" She gushed, making my cheeks heat up. "Thank You Miss Katrina." I said softly, but she shook her head. "Please call me Kat. You're family now!" I couldn't help the little flutter in my heart, and I tried to push it down. "Alright mum. Let the girl breathe." Amelia teased. "If I have to." Her mother sighed dramatically, letting me go, and making me giggle. I could definitely see where Amelia got her dramatics from. "Livy, this is my father, Stephan." Her father shook my hand, giving me a warm smile. "Nice to meet you sweetheart. Please call me Stephan." He said. "Nice to meet you, Stephan." "And well, these are my siblings. You met Chrissy already. This is Jaden and Kaiden, they're twins and the third oldest. And this is Luke. He's the youngest." The three brothers approached me, and seriously, life isn't fair. They're all freaking gorgeous. "Hi beautiful. Lovely to meet you. I'm Kaiden." He lifted my hand to his lips, placing a soft kiss on it. Clearly Christian wasn't the only flirt. His twin rolled his eyes and pushed him aside. "Ignore him please love. He's just a horny bastard. I'm Jaden. Nice to meet you." He surprised me by pulling me into a hug, and I stood still for a moment before hugging him back. "Nice to meet you too." I said, as he pulled away. Luke pushed past the twins, coming to stand in front of me. Did I mention that they all tower over me? I felt like a dwarf standing next to them. "I'm Luke, the youngest.... But I just wanted to let you know that age is nothing but a number to me, baby doll." My eyes widened and my cheeks turned red as he smirked at me. "Boys! That's enough. Leave the poor girl alone." Their mother admonished them. "Let's have a seat, and you could tell us about yourself, Olivia." She said. I took a seat at the end of the huge sectional, and each brother fought to sit next to me. "Nobody's sitting next to Livy, but me. So move, bloody wankers." Amelia huffed, making me laugh. We all sat, and they all began asking me questions all at the same time. "Hold on!" Amelia yelled. "What is it sweetheart?" Her mother asked. "Where's Bubba? Why isn't he here?" She frowned. Her mother sighed heavily. "He's working baby doll. He said he couldn't take the day off today." She said softly. The light in Amelia's eyes dimmed a little bit, and I felt really bad. "I doubt he's that busy where he couldn't come spend a couple hours with his baby sister that he hasn't seen in three months." She said indignantly, and I winced. Shit. She was not happy, and if there's one thing about Amelia, she will always voice her displeasure. "Lia. That's enough." Her grandmother admonished her softly. "No, Granny! It's not! I'm sick of Xavier putting his job before us all the time. This isn't the first time that this happened. He never makes time for us anymore." She muttered. I sat there awkwardly, not knowing what to do. "He'll be here tomorrow, Lia. I talked to him earlier this week, and he said that he would be by for dinner tomorrow. So relax a little." Her mum said. Amelia scoffed, as if she didn't believe that but didn't say anything else about the matter. "So Olivia, Amelia told us you were from The States. What part are you from?" Her father asked. "I'm from Chicago." I said, playing with the end of my dress. "Ah. The Windy City. What was it like growing up there?" He asked. "It wasn't the greatest. I was moved around a lot and some of the places I stayed weren't the nicest." I said honestly. "How come you moved around a lot?" Luke asked. "Well, I was an orphan. I've never met by parents before and I've been in foster homes for as long as I can remember. No one wanted to adopt me, I guess." I responded. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry." Camilla said softly, looking at me with sympathy. "It's fine. I had come to terms with not having a proper family from a young age. Some of the foster homes that I stayed in were pleasant, and some others not so much. But I survived." I said, shifting uncomfortably under everyone's gaze. "Well you have us now, love." Alistair said, and I gave a tiny smile. "Thank you." I murmured. "So how did you move to England?" Stephan asked. "Well, I threw myself into school, and graduated with honors at my old high school. I ended up getting a full ride scholarship here, and I took the opportunity. I had nothing tying me to The States." "Oh, wow. So what are you majoring in?" He asked. "I'm majoring in Finance." He nodded, looking thoroughly impressed. "Well, if you keep up your good grades, I can pull some strings and get you a job within one of the best companies in London."  He said, and l looked at him in shock. "Wow. Thank you sir." I said with wide eyes. "I told you, call me Stephan." he admonished with a soft smile. "So beauty and brains, huh? Is there any chance you'd marry me?" Christian joked, and I laughed. "We're too young for marriage, don't you think?" I rose a brow. He just chuckled and shook his head. "Not me love. I'm 27." He said, and my jaw dropped open in shock. "Seriously? I thought you were 25 for the oldest." I said, and he smirked. "Thanks for the compliment sweetheart, but no I'm 27. But now that we are on the topics of age... How old are you?" He asked curiously. "22." I responded. "s**t. I thought you were older." He laughed. "Are you trying to say that I look old?" I mockingly pout. "Of course not. It's just that you've accomplished a lot for someone so young on their own." he murmured. "Forget that old man, baby. What's it gonna take for me to take you out on a date?" Luke grinned, and I rose a brow. "How old are you?" I asked, squinting at him. "15, but I'm sure I can rock your world." Everyone around us laughed loudly, including me. "Sorry hon, you need to add on ten years to that age, before I even consider you." I said, and he pouted. "Damn." "Okay you horn dogs. Leave Livy alone now. I'm gonna go show her to her room. Mum, what time is lunch?" Amelia asked. "One o'clock. Why don't you two go freshen up, and you can show Olivia around, Lia?" Her mum responded, and Amelia nodded. "Come on Livy." She pulled me up and we excused ourselves. I looked around for my suitcase, which was already gone and frowned. "It's in your room already Livy." Amelia said. "Oh." She led me up the stairs, making two right turns, before stopping in front of a door. Jeez I'm gonna get lost in this place. "This is your room. My room is right across the hall. Why don't you take a couple minutes for yourself? I know my family is a lot." She said, and I nodded. "I'll come get you at 12:45 so we can go join the others for lunch." I checked the time on my phone, seeing that it was 12:30. "Okay." I said, and she gave me a huge smile. "You don't know how happy I am that you finally agreed to come." She said and I laughed softly. "I can tell." I murmured. I opened the door, and walked in, taking in the size of the room. It was f*****g huge. It was painted a powered blue color and had dark wood floors. The bed was huge, and had luxurious blue comforters on it. There was also a huge flat screen TV across from the bed, and a mini seating area. There was a small balcony attached to the room, along with a bathroom and a closet. I flopped onto the bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment. Amelia's family is..... Interesting. They certainly weren't what I was expecting, in a good way. For rich people, they were certainly humble and down to earth from what I gathered. Not that I'm trying to stereotype, but there are some rich people who wouldn't give you the time of day if your status doesn't match theirs. I heard a knock on the door, bringing me out of my thoughts, and I sat up. "Come in!" The door opened and Christian peeked his head in, giving me a grin. "Do you want a tour of the place before lunch?" He asked. "Uh... Sure." I said. "Well, c'mon." He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the door.
