/Athea's POV/
"Aren't you a pretty little thing?" That deep gravel sent shivers down her spine.
She was stupid. So so stupid. Her father was going to kill her once he finds out that she left the packhouse at night.
"L-Listen you have no business on our ground so I suggest you leave" She managed to squeak, her teeth chattering at the harsh wind blowing around. Why was it so freaking cold all of a sudden? Maybe because she was in Alaska in the middle of harsh winter.
The Alpha was a pack leader. It was evident from the way he stood, all tall and powerful with an overconfident smirk on his face. She hated every part of it. And why was the Alpha roaming in their grounds in the middle of the night? She had never seen him before not smelled someone of their kind before. That was enough to create fear in her but she refused to let that show on her face.
"Mmh and you have a spine. I'm going to enjoy breeding you" He maliciously spat nearing her and Athea immediately backed away.
Why her? She thought as her heart thudded like crazy against her ribcage. Suddenly she remembered her father's strict voice. And how he had reprimanded her multiple times to learn self-defence skills but she was too lazy and ignored him every time. Athea wanted to cry but that would make her easy target. Like a pack wolf she was, she held her ground and definitely stared at him.
The Alpha had a pack tattoo on his shoulder, a half crescent moon with dots aside. And she wanted to use something, anything that would change his mind but she could think. Her mind was in a frenzy, fear taking over quickly as the distance between the Alpha and he got closer.
"You're going to regret it Alpha... Don't" She weakly said and that's when she heard it. The snarl and his sharp canines bared, sinking into his corner of the mouth. That Alpha voice was enough to make her meekly submit to him. It was biology no one can go against that. And she meekly held her breath.
"Don't make it difficult omega. You should feel lucky that you're going to bore my pups." He hissed as his arms came around her waist and she clenched her eyes shut.
As he tried to move closer she closed her eyes and felt as if she was falling.
Athea woke up with a gasp and looked around only to notice that she was in her. Her chest rose and fell as she had just run ten miles. That incident was etched in her mind even though it happened three weeks ago. She couldn't forget about it no matter how much she tried to.
"Athea" A soft voice echoed followed by the footsteps padding towards her room.
Disoriented she rubbed her eyes and pushed the sheets away from her body. The bright rays peeked through her window, filtering through the curtains and it brought a smile to her face. She loved sunrays. It was very rare that she gets to experience those bright rays.
"Athea" The same voice gritted again.
She hummed turning around and noticed it was Beth, their housekeeper.
"Good morning Beth"
"Morning morning. Get out of bed. Your mother is calling for you" Beth nudged her sheets and then started folding them. It was something she had been doing since Athea was a kid.
The omega flinched as her bare feet touched the surface of the ground. Her room was always freezing, especially her floor. She quickly slipped on her fuzzy slippers.
"Why?" Athea asked rolling her lower lip in between her teeth.
"I don't know but it sounds serious."
Athea wrinkled her nose at that. Ever since that incident, her family was even more protective than ever. She considered herself lucky if she even steps out of her house. It felt like a punishment. And her mother had been avoiding her for a week, busy with something.
"Okay. Did you make me crepes?"
Beth sighed, "One of these days you have to cook yourself"
Athea pouted at that. She was the daughter of pack Alpha and spoiled rotten since the beginning. Even then Beth taught her everything she needed to know.
"Yeah yeah if I find my mate I will"
Beth smiled, "Who knows you may find him today"
"Yeah right" Athea snorted and walked out of her room.

Her mother, Elisa was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and stirring her tea. For someone who was Luna of the pack, she was treated no less than royalty.
"Good morning mom" Athea mumbled walking closer to her, ignoring the way her slippers slapped against the floor.
Elisa gasped, shielding her eyes and put down the cup on the marble table.
"They are going to be here in a few minutes and you are not ready! Oh for moon's sake!"
Athea whipped her head around and stared at her. What was happening? She had no idea.
"They?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Mom what do you mean, they? What is happening?"
Elisa instead of answering the question stood up and pulled her in for a hug. She squeezed her tightly and sniffled. "Honey, I'm so sorry." She cried. "I thought your dad must have told you."
"What do you mean? Told me what?" Athea asked, her breathing uneven.
"Athea..." Elisa took a deep breath. "After that incident, we couldn't sleep...it is dangerous for you to be here-"
Athea sniffled, "Please mom"
"Let me finish. We don't have enough Alphas in our packs and it has become dangerous for us to stay here. Your father is...he feels incompetent for not being able to protect you. So we have come to a decision"
Athea held her breath, waiting for her mother to complete the sentence.
"We've decided to merge our pack with Romanos. They're going to take care of you, okay? We've talked about this. You'll stay there as long as everything gets under control here."
The Luna moved back and her face was red and the tears had to be stinging her cold skin. "We just, we just can't afford to lose you...You're our only baby and I just can't..."
Athea couldn't bear to see the tears. Her mother was the strongest Luna but when it came to her daughter she was the weakest. Everyone knew that and tried to take advantage of it. She knew they must have been planning something behind her back but merging with Romanos was the last thing on her mind.
Athea gulped and quietly asked, "They? There's more than one?"
"Yes, they are all brothers and from what we've heard next in line of throne. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. They'll keep you safe. I promise"
"How many are there?" Athea asked.
"Three." She wanted to throw up. No, she can't live with three Alphas when she hated their kind. Just no.
"Three?" She whispered. She shook her head.
"No, mom, I can't. Please don't make me. Please-"
Her mother grabbed her shoulders. "Hey hey love please calm down. Look at me. Look at me. We would never put you in danger. Never. They're the strongest pack in Alaska. And they agreed to give you special protection and also let their Alphas mate with our unmated omegas. You have to understand that we couldn't pass this up, baby."
"So you sold me, pretty much?" Athea angrily asked, crossing her arms against her chest. Just the thought made her shudder.
The Luna gasped. "No!" She cried. Then, she sighed. "Listen Athea you have to understand that this is important. Not only for you but for our pack omegas. They are all shaken with your incident and the attacks have not stopped. We can't fight forever."
Her mother looked at her with a weak tired smile. Athea searched her face up and down. She was beautiful, and always will be, but the hard times they'd endured were written all over her face. As a Luna, it was her duty to make sure everyone feels protected and even though it must be the hardest decision to merge she had to do it. She had to agree so that everyone can sleep at night peacefully.
Athea couldn't back out. Not when it was about other omegas of the pack. She was willing to do anything for her family, even though she did not know anything about those brothers.
"O-Okay I-I'll do it." She finally stuttered out. She opened her mouth, but she shook his head. "I'll do it, mom."
Her mother choked on a sob and hugged her closer, whispering sweet nothings in her ear. It will be fine honey her mother repeated several times as if to assure herself more than assure Athea. And it was fine. Athea can handle it.
A few seconds later she heard a voice from behind.
"They're here." Her father said quietly.
