Part 3

/Third Person POV/ The Alphas had calmed down, even though their breathing was erratic. Aron wanted to just walk away from there instead of listening to his father. It was such a stupid idea to let unmated Alphas stay with an unmated Omega. What would happen if any one of them went into a rut? Or worse the Omega went into heat? That would make matters complicated and result in ultimate bonding. No one was interested in that, maybe Aron was a little interested. But he was not going to admit that in front of his brothers. As always Archer was in the corner, slumped against the wall and a deep thoughtful look on his face. Aries, on the other hand, was sitting on the Ottoman chair with his feet tucked closer. From the look on his face, it was evident he wanted to get away. His father, Archos was quiet, his chin resting in between the hands. After that outburst, Aron was hoping that his brothers would scream or shout but they just resigned and turned back. No one can blame them. He looked over at his Luna, Cara who sat there with a bored expression on her face. For the first time, Aron was surprised that she was not pushing her son forward for the task. Because every time the chance of showing the bravery arrived she was the first to flaunt her son. That pathetic excuse of an Alpha. Aries cleared his throat, looking up from his seat, "Why do they want us to protect that particular Omega?"   Archer looked over his brother and almost rolled his eyes. They had an inkling about what the reason might be. The attacks on the omegas was not a secret anymore but no one was actually speaking up. Too scared or too ignorant to bring up the issue. Or maybe because nothing happened in their pack. Nothing ever would. Archos sat up straight in his seat, a little taken back at the question but he quickly regained his stoic look. "Athea... The Omega was almost abducted three weeks ago. It is still unknown who did it as they don't have enough members in the pack to track down. Not only that but the attacks on their omegs have increased since past months. So their Alpha, Joseph Black personally sent for me and we talked over it" Aries hummed at that, feeling his brothers eyes on him. Before he could ask anything else, his brother Aron spoke up. "But do they know the reason for these attacks?" Archos cleared his throat, lifting his head in the direction of Aron, "Of course. They want to extend their pack and as omegas are dying in the south this is what they are doing- breeding the omegas from other packs." A chill ran down Archer's spine as he heard those words. The Alpha knew about the issue but hearing it from someone else made it feels so real. Archos looked pale as he continued, "And with unmated omegas, it is possible to breed a litter. So that's why they are trying to who drug these vulnerable omegas and extend their pack. But this may result in even more deaths if the omegas have some defect or produce more than they can. That is one of the reasons why the omegas in the south are dying. When I talked to Athea's mother, she said that the Alpha who attacked was so quick that they couldn't even trace his scent"   Cara spoke up, "But it's so stupid thinking that they can produce more alphas, they wouldn't have gotten any."   Archos sighed and shook her head. "If they were strong enough to not leave a scent or trace behind them they very well could have produced more than one alpha pup. If you pair a good Omega with a strong Alpha, the chances of a male, Alpha offspring are higher than normal."    Aron shuddered at the thought of an omega, chained to a wall, being forced to have litter after litter of pups. No wonder their pack was asking for help. He couldn't even imagine going through something like that.   "So, we want her to come here and stay in your cabin. She is the only daughter and they are scared for her safety. Until they recruit new Alphas or our Alphas mate in their pack she will be staying here. All three of you can protect her better" His father, Archos looked up at his sons. If one thing he was proud of in his life were his sons. They were everything for him after he lost his mate but his actions lacked that. And he regretted pulling away from them. But now it was too late to try.   "Alright. I guess so." Aries slumped his shoulders and then raised from his seat. He couldn't hear any more from his father. It was too much for him.   Archos grinned, "I was hoping you all would say that." "Only he has said yes" Archer snorted pocketing his hand. He didn't like the idea of staying with some random unmated omega. Aron shrugged, "I mean it can't be that bad" Archer felt his jaw hit the floor. He taught atleast Aron would be on his side. Betrayal. "Really?" He huffed staring at Aron who sheepishly shrugged. "Now that everyone has agreed-" "Not everyone" Archer grumbled "No problem you will have time to think about it on our journey" Archos grinned, standing up from his chair. "Journey?" Aries asked, almost afraid of the answer.    "Well, Elisa, the Luna wanted Athea to move as quickly as possible because they fear that another attack may be underway, and so we are leaving now" Archos mumbled, pulling at his coat and tucking his hands inside the pocket.   "What?" Archer glared. "You tricked us?" Archos shook his head. "Of course not. No, I just forgot to tell early. Now make yourself presentable we need to leave in ten minutes" And then Archos gave the triplets an award-winning smile and walked out of the door. ***   After a few minutes of aimless wandering around the living room of the cabin, Aron finally asked his brothers to get their s**t together. They both were complaining and grumbling from the past ten minutes and it was annoying him. "But-" Archer started Aron rolled his eyes, "I really don't want to hear it" The snow had started falling quickly and it was thick, making Aries blink dozens of times to clear his eyes. He couldn't believe that his brother, Aron so readily agreed and was willing to stay with some random omega. After a few hours of travelling, they were finally stood in front of gigantic packhouse. But still, it was smaller compared to theirs. "Let's go boys" Cara smirked looking over but Aries simply rolled his eyes. He had much-pressing matters to think about. They entered through the same French doors and shivered involuntarily. Archer looked around as the thick snow covered the ground and kicked the snow off of his shoes. It was just too much snow everywhere. As soon as the guards scanned them and checked for weapons they were cleared. There was laughter coming from the packhouse, Aron could hear it just like his brothers. As they walked a few more miles he noticed few girls and boys scattered across the ground, collecting wood. It reminded Aron of his childhood and a smile lit his lips.   As soon as Aries stepped towards the door he smelled it. His nose caught the sweetest scent he had ever encountered. He was drawn towards it. The scent was very fragile, feminine and soft. It made his heartbeat quicken and his eyes scanned around. His inner Alpha was growling and threatening to come out. It was weird because he never had this intense of an urge.   "Hurry up!" Archos yelled over his shoulder. They entered the porch and instantly smelled the Pack Alpha, Joseph Black. "Hi, Joseph" Archos hugged the Alpha and moved away. "Hello. Hope you all had a safe journey" Archos hummed, "We did. These are my sons, Archer, eldest by five minutes. And then Aries and Aron" "And boys, this is Joseph Black, the Pack Alpha"   Archer stepped forward and shook his hand. "Pleasure to meet you"    Joseph nodded "Strong handshake." Aries moved on next, followed by Aron and then they were asked to wait on the porch. Yeah on the porch while Joseph walked inside. *** A few minutes later they were asked to step inside. And Archer felt his insides twist at the sweet lingering smell. What was it? Or rather who was it? He looked over at his brothers and they had the same reaction. Before he could say something the Luna, Elisa came forward.     "Really," Elisa took his hands in hers. "We owe you three so much. Athea is a bit...wary around Alphas ever since that incident. But she means no harm. And she's very special to us, you all have to understand that." Aron nodded his head, distracted by the scent hitting him. He wanted to find that smell. It was itching him. "Speaking of the omega, where is she?"   Elisa nervously chewed on her lips, "She had no idea you all were arriving so soon. But she's ready by now and in her room. Y'all can find it on the first floor" Aries looked over at his brothers who also seemed like they wanted to escape.   "No problem we will find her"   Archer said with a tight smile and along with his brothers headed in the direction of stairs. As they began climbing up, the scent got stronger. "Are you both smelling it?" Aron finally asked Aries exclaimed, "Yes the lavender and vanilla! It's driving my Alpha crazy" Archer nodded along and he noticed that the scent got stronger near the room. It was ajar so he pushed open. There was a girl sitting, curled up in a chair while tying her laces of the shoes. And Archer felt like he couldn't breathe. Aron inhaled sharply as she looked up, her red fiery hair falling on her forehead. The cerulean blue eyes making his breath hitch in his throat. As she blinked her eyes, in a daze, her thick eyelashes kissing her cheekbones Aries felt his insides twist. Her candy pink lips parting in a gasp and she stumbled, standing up. "Mate!" All three of them growled together ***
