Chapter 18. Hello Dylan

1788 Words
“Hello Dylan, where are you now? I called you before, and you rejected my calls.” Rosie asked, as she was unhappy with the fact that Dylan ended her phone call. Rosie knew that Frederick had answered her call in the afternoon, and though Frederick had told her that he didn't tell Dylan anything apart from their actual lies, Rosie knew that Frederick wasn't pleased with the fact that she was having an affair with Dylan too, and it was more like she was dating two men. Dylan replied, "I am sorry about rejecting your calls, but I was with Jessica then, and I couldn't answer your phone call in her presence.” “Really, but you still have to let Jessica know about me. How is she doing now? I am sure that she's still pretending to you that she's sick so that you won't divorce her.” Rosie said. “No Rosie… Jessica is fine now, and tomorrow she will be at home, but I have a request from you; I want to see you tomorrow morning to discuss it," Dylan said. “What's that about?" Rosie nervously asked him, as she knew that she was telling a lie to Dylan. “Not to worry; tomorrow morning, I will visit your home, and we will get to discuss it." Dylan replied. Rosie was still curious to know, but she had to comply, and she replied, “Fine Dy, Good night, babe, I love you.” “I love you more,” Dylan answered, and the phone call with Rosie finally ended. Dylan walked into the house and met Florence and his kids at the dining table. He looked at them in silence and finally went upstairs to his room. Dylan was tired and stressed, and he thought about bringing Rosie to his mansion to come and live with him, especially now that Rosie was pregnant by him. After he was through with his bath, he retired to his bed and slept off. --- The following morning, Dylan woke up early and prepared for the launch ceremony of his new company product. Though the launch ceremony is to be held at noon, Dylan took his bath, and when he stepped out, he wore a blue shirt and black pants and went downstairs to check on his kids and Florence. It was a weekend, and Florence was with Caleb in his room and had helped the little boy prepare his bath. Caleb was in a good mood, as he knew that his mother would soon be at home with him and his younger sister, as they both missed their mother so much. Hearing the sound of the room door pushing open, Caleb stared back and saw his father walking into his room to check on them. “Good morning, sir,” Florence greeted Dylan, as she was wearing a white long nightgown. “Morning. I will have to go to the hospital now to bring their mother home. How are you doing, Caleb?” Dylan asked his son, and Caleb smiled and replied, “Fine dad, good morning.” “Hmm, I will be back soon with your mother. How about Nina?” Dylan was asking Florence, and she replied, "Still sleeping in her room, sir.” “Okay, I will be back.” Dylan left Caleb's room, went outside to the garage, and got into one of his cars. He started the car engine and drove out to the private hospital to bring Jessica home first. Though he had contacted Rosie to say that he would be at her place, Dylan drove his car off to the private hospital first. ---- Jessica had taken her bath and wore the blue gown that she had before, and she waited for Dylan to arrive at the private hospital. She first got a phone call from Rex to know how she was faring, and she told Rex she was fine. After waiting a few more minutes, the doctor had already discharged her and advised her to take care of her health. Soon, Dylan arrived, and he walked into the private ward with the doctor on duty. Doctor Mark smiled at Jessica as he walked into the private ward with Dylan. Although Doctor Mark didn't know what the problem was between Jessica and Dylan, he advised Dylan again, "I have already spoken to your wife about the importance of taking care of her health, especially now that she's pregnant. She must get enough rest and eat more fruits and vitamins.” “Thank you, doctor, She will take that into consideration, but about the pregnancy... I would still like to have a paternity test done to know if the baby is my baby,” Dylan shamelessly said, and Jessica's jaw dropped in shock. Doctor Mark looked from Dylan to Jessica in surprise, and he replied, "That won't be an issue, Mr. Robinson. We will conduct the test later, as your wife has been discharged today. Probably next week, you both can come for the test, or maybe when the baby is born." Doctor Mark understood that some wives usually cheat on their husbands, and he hadn't thought of Jessica as being a cheat, as she has a calm look. "Okay, Doctor, thank you very much. We will be on our way now,” Dylan replied, and he finally shifted his gaze to Jessica, who stared downward sadly while Doctor Mark left the ward. Jessica didn't bother to ask Dylan why he had shamefully asked Doctor Mark such questions as knowing the real father of her unborn baby. It simply means that Dylan suspected her of cheating on him too. And her pregnancy was the result of the cheating. “Can we go now, or you're still forgetting something?” Dylan's question snapped Jessica out of her trance and back to reality. She sniffed and replied, "Nothing.” Jessica stared around the wardroom to be sure that she wasn't forgetting anything, as she was holding the small phone that Rex had given her. A nurse in a white uniform walked into the ward and gave Dylan, Jessica's medication. Soon, Jessica and Dylan left the private hospital building and walked out to the car. Dylan opened the car door for Jessica, though he kept a solemn look on his face. He got into his driver's seat, started the car engine, and drove home. Arriving home, Dylan did not step down from his car, as he gave Jessica her medication packet and said to her, "I have to be somewhere now, ahead of the launch ceremony by noon, so take care of yourself and our kids... I will be back home for a proper discussion and to finalize our divorce.” Jessica was silent as she saw that Dylan was rushing. She didn't argue with Dylan as she silently stepped down from his car and shut his car door. She stood aside and watched Dylan drive the white Lexus Jeep out of their garage. Jessica shook her head sadly, as she didn't know what had gone wrong with Dylan. She proceeded and went into the mansion to be with her two kids, and she met all of them in the dining room. Caleb and Nina were both preparing to sit on the dining chairs and have their breakfasts. “Mummy! Mummy!” Caleb and Nina both rushed out to meet Jessica as they saw her walking into the living room, and they hugged her while she bent to hug them too. “Good morning, madam." Florence greeted Jessica with a smile, and Jessica smiled back at Florence and replied, “Good morning, How are you doing?” “I am fine, ma, Good, you're home with us. As Nina won't allow me to rest,” Florence said, while her gaze fell on Nina. “I know, Nina is a little stubborn, but I am at home now. I hope you're good.” Jessica asked Florence again, and the latter replied, "Yes, ma.” "Okay.” Jessica walked with her two kids to the dining table, and she sat down with Nina and Caleb while they prepared to have their breakfasts. Although Jessica's mind was wrapped around where Dylan was going,. And why he wanted to continue with the divorce but not want her two kids to know that she was sad. Jessica pretended to be good, and she resumed drinking her tea and also eating from the bread, shortly after Florence was through with serving them breakfast. ----- Dylan drove out to Rosie's house, and when he arrived at Rosie's home, it was 10 a.m.. He parked his car in the compound and stepped down, while Frederick walked out of Rosie's room as he heard the sound of Dylan's car too. Rosie wore a long white nightgown, and she walked outside too and saw Dylan walking up to meet her. “Good morning, sir." Frederick greeted Dylan first, while Dylan responded, "Morning.” Dylan approached Rosie and hugged her before kissing her lips in front of Frederick. Not knowing that Frederick Joseph was Rosie's real boyfriend and not her brother, like she had lied to him about. Frederick's fist clenched as he didn't like how Dylan was kissing his woman, and he quickly said to Rosie, "I have to go now, sis.” "Okay, bro, take care,” Rosie replied to Frederick, and she walked into the passage that led to her room with Dylan. Frederick stood outside in front of the passage entrance, and he frowned as he stared backward and watched Dylan walk into Rosie's room door with Rosie. Subtly crossing an arm around Rosie's shoulder. "How long am I going to put up with this man f*cking my babe? Rosie needs to end her entanglement with him." Frederick was angry, and as the house had only four tenants, the rest of the house tenants were indoors and rather minding their businesses. Frederick walked away and left the house as he went to check on his new company's progress, while Dylan settled in the parlor with Rosie. “How were your night and my baby doing?” Dylan asked Rosie as he sat on the parlor couch with her. Rosie smiled and replied, “Good, So what do you want to discuss with me about?” Rosie stared intently at Dylan's face, although she was internally nervous as she wasn't done scamming Dylan yet, and she didn't want him to find out the truth about the fact that she had been lying to him. Dylan smiled and replied, "I want you to accompany me to an event in my company, as I don't want Jessica to go there with me.”
