Cater stared out over the world below her. It was dark as the moon and clouds came out, Joey's soft snores coming from the room inside. The cool air blew across her nightgown as it had two nights ago. Carter's eyes closed as she tried to calm her aching heart, stopping the tears that kept coming up in her eyes. After the argument with Lucas in the lobby, she ran back up to her room to cry. Joey had come up an hour later to tell her about his wonderful mate, Mia, when he saw her sobbing on the couch.
