It's been over a week since that night, the long talks now gone and only the curt and cold orders came through. A part of me dearly wished that I had stayed in his arms, but I knew better than that. The heated moments were missed and its place took the silent treatment that stung my heart so painfully. I understood him all too well as my rejection had taken a hit to his confidence.
