Shep, Kiddy and Fluffy came as soon as they were called, because, although they were working dogs, they really enjoyed personal attention from their masters. After he had petted, stroked and fed them by hand, Wayne introduced them to the puppies. He was not expecting any trouble from the good-natured animals and didn’t get any either. The three adults sniffed the new arrivals thoroughly and the two puppies pawed at the older dogs’ noses in play. Within ten minutes, the five dogs were rolling around on the path together, so Wayne put the bowl with the treats down for them and sat back against the door jamb to watch them play.
