Again, Mia had slept most of the day, only waking to get in the bath and eat. Lyra had healed her physically, but she was still very small and malnourished. She was mentally exhausted, and she was going to have her first shift today. Sleep and rest were welcomed. She could remember ever feeling so safe and warm and comfortable.
As time went by, it was almost 12, so they made their way outside. The wind started howling through the trees. A shiver went down Mia's spine.
Are you ok to walk Mia? I am thanks, Alpha. Please call me Blake, Mia. You are my mate and my equal. O ok, Alpha.... Blake, sorry I will try. Do you mind helping me through my first shift? I know we just met, and well, I have literally arrived only arrived on your doorstep yesterday. Nurse Violet said you would understand as your mate is the only one who can help? Of course, you don't even need to ask me, angel. I am here for you forever. We are mates. Floyd and I will always be here for you and Lyra. Floyd can sense your distress, and he would like to see if the mate bond can help now. Would you like to hold my hand as touch can help calm pur anxieties. A familiar tingle radiated down her arms.
They made it to a clearing in the middle of the forest.
It was a large area surrounded by dense trees. The moon shone brightly onto Mia, almost as though she had a spotlight on her. Just as the moon was at its peek, she let out a bonechilling scream as her bones cracked, and realined, fur sprouted from her back and arms. Her clothes shredded, and as she looked down, 2 white paws stood in place of her legs and another 2 where her hands had been. She now stood on all four paws and started to test her balance, stretching her legs as a bolt of lighting shot down from the clouds hitting her directly. Anna screamed, but the lighting had caused no harm to Mia or Lyra. In fact, there was no reaction heard from Mia at all. It was as though she had absorbed the bolt. Rain pelted down, hitting the forest floor with such force it bounced back up and hit them all in the face. Anna, Blake, Violet, and Parker had all joined Mia for her shift, each eager to help if they could in any way. Anna had some clothes waiting for Mia, for when she would shift back in a waterproof bag. Parker thought it best to be there incase anything went wrong, and he had to help hold Blake back. Alphas were extremely possessive of their mates, and Violet was there in case she needed to provide medical support.
The ground shook beneath them, and a roar of thunder sounded through the clouds, making everyone jump. Fear and panic se in for everyone as Lyra's fur continued to sprout, and her shift was almost complete.
Once her shift was complete everyone stared in awe. She was the most beautiful pure white wolf. She was larger than all the Alpha wolves that Floyd had met almost as large as himself and when she had finished, he saw her pupils had Gold lightning bolts inside. He stood forward and immediately bowed his head before he realised what he was doing. Alpha wolves never bowed to each other, they were used to others submitting to them.
The storm settled around them, the full moon came from behind a cloud and shone. Lyras fur glowed as if she was literally absorbing its power, and then to everyone's surprise, she spoke to them through the mind link.
There is a storm coming and we need to prepare. Floyd, I can't wait to meet you it is our fate to restore the balance back to the supernatural world. We are on the brink of war, and with that comes death and destruction.
Everyone stood, looking at each other waiting for Blake to speak.
"Floyd, how can Lyra mind link us?" Blake asked. "we haven't made her part of the pack." Floyd howled mate is amazing and a messenger from the moon goddess. She can control the elements, too, but that's all I know. " Blake was confused, worried, and proud all at the same time". Blake just shook his head and shrugged.
Anna spoke first, Lyra. You are beautiful, can we stroke your fur? Lyra nodded her fur felt so soft it felt as you might have thought a cloud should feel. Mia mindlinked Lyra would like to run with Floyd if everyone doesnt mind she is eager to connect with her mate. Floyd would love that. Logan replied and quickly shifted into his jet black Alpha wolf. Lyra ran off with Floyd hot on her tail. Blake then mindlinked the other's myself, and Mia will let our wolves spend some time together, and we will meet at 6 am tomorrow to discuss everything. Yes, Alpha came everyones responses. They were quiet relieved that Mia was ok and eagerly went back to their rooms. Tomorrow would be a big day.
The pack grounds were beautiful waterfalls cascading into numerous streams. Fire places with seating areas. Farm lands were full of produce. Barbecue areas and little individual houses were built all around, surrounded by training grounds and forests. In the centre stood the mansion, which was the pack house and housed all the ranked members and their families.
Floyd and Lyra ran around, though the trees jumping over fallen branches and weaving in and out of the trees and bushes. They had a long swim in the streams, and Floyd shook all the droplets of water from his fur coat onto Lyra, earning a growl from her as she pounced on him, pinning him. Floyd quickly flipped them over the Alpha in him, needing to make her submit to him. She looked at him in the eyes and mind linked him. "Two can play that game as the stream suddenly funnelled water to push him off. Mia was laughing over the mindlink. Floyd led down in defeat, looking hurt, and as Lyra approached, he pinned her again. Using the only element he could the element of surprise. Finally, after 2 hours, they decided to shift back, and Mia and Blake walked back hand in hand and decided to the pack house to sleep. Blake slept on a put up bed that had been placed in his room. Mia took the Queensize bed despite her protest. Sleep took them both as soon as their heads hit the pillow. Tomorrow would be a long day, but hopefully would yeild some answers about her herritage.
