Chapter 8The weather was warm for this time of April, and I wore a Georgetown U. sweatshirt over a pair of soft, faded jeans, and Jordache running shoes that were well-broken in. My hair was spiked up, more my brother Jar’s style than mine, and I had gelled it to keep it that way. As long as no one bothered to look into my eyes, I appeared to be a college student. Even as a college student, however, I wasn’t young enough to just go to the Mall to hang out. I knew it was likely that I’d have to make some purchases, and I carried a good deal of cash in my wallet. Once again I didn’t want to leave a paper trail if I could help it.
