Third person's POV
Salvatore and Isabella land in New York. It is not a long flight, and Isabella wants to go to her apartment and get ready to spend the rest of her day in her office working. She has a lot of things to plan and work out. She will be leaving for Italy with Salvatore for a few days, but she did not plan on them staying in New York for a few days.
"We will stay in my house here in New York," Salvatore says.
"I have my own apartment," Isabella says.
"I do not care. From now on, you will have to be under my protection. If my enemies find out I am engaged, they will come after you," Salvatore says. Isabella did not think of it when she signed the contract with Salvatore.
"Fine, but only because I have big plans for my future and do not want to die yet," Isabella says.
"We will buy you new clothes. You can not wear only black and white business clothes the whole time. Don't you find your clothing boring?" Salvatore asks.
"I like my clothing. I do not have to spend hours looking for something to wear. Why must I get other clothes?" Isabella asks.
"You are going to meet my family, and you can not look like you are going to a funeral the whole time," Salvatore says.
"With the business your family is in, I am surprised that you do not go to funerals all the time," Isabella says.
"We are good at what we do and have survived this business for years. We have to go and say hello to my grandparents, Jayda and Jason Morgan," Salvatore says.
"Of course, Dr. Jayda was a Hudson before she married the billionaire Jason Morgan," Isabella says.
"You know every one of the Hudsons," Salvatore says sarcastically.
"I know them because they are my customers. Wait a minute! They are the infamous Casella! Are they not?" Isabella says. Ricco looks at Salva, who does not show any emotions on his face. He does not want to tell on the Casellas, but this bloody woman is why to smart.
"You can not go around and talk about the Casella family like that. Did they ever do anything to you or your family? Salvatore asks.
"Why not? They are just people, and as long as I keep their secret, I will not be in danger. I like Harper and Dean and their children, and I have nothing against them. I know them best of all the Casellas because I have met them a few times. Now that I know they are the Casella family, I will be more careful around them, though," Isabella says.
"You are too clever for your own good, and you will piss off someone one of these days. You are already pissing me off. Stop calling them the Casellas! What if someone that is not supposed to hear it hears you?" Salvatore shouts at Isabella.
"Do not shout at me. I am not deaf! I can hear you very well," Isabella says, and she sounds irritated.
"Do not speak to me in that tone. I am the bloody Godfather of the Italian Mafia. Many have died doing less than you are doing! Know your place," Salvatore shouts again. They are still in the limo driving to his place.
"Boo hoo, you are going to kill your own fiance! How great! At least you will not have to give me Harmonies," Isabella says. Ricco is smiling, and he is enjoying every moment of this. Salvatore is not used to anyone talking back to him. Oh, their boring life is over! He can not wait to tell Maria his wife! She is going to enjoy this couple as much as he does.
"What are you smiling about? Do you hear the way this woman is talking to me? She is disrespectful," Salvatore says to Ricco.
"I am sitting right here! I am not going to stay at your bloody place! Please take me to my apartment! You talk about being disrespectful, but what about you? You do not respect me! I am not going to ask how high when you say jump! I am not one of your men you can order around, Salvatore Pistone! You are not my bloody Don!" Isabella says. Riccardo is clenching his fists. He glares at Isabella. She sits on his lap the next moment, and he kisses her. It is not a passionate kiss. It is more of an angry kiss. Ricco takes a photo without Salva or Issy seeing it. He makes sure it looks like a passionate kiss. Isabella is in shock at first. Then she starts punching Salva with her fists, but he laughs as he does not feel it. He holds her closer and pins her arms to her side.
"Let go of me!" Isabella says.
"Nope, relax, dammit! You can not look like I am about to kill you every time I touch you," Salvatore says. He can feel Isabella tense, and her whole body is tight. Isabella tries to relax but can not as she does not know what to do when being hugged. She does not like the feeling of someone touching her, and she knows Salvatore is only doing this to punish her for talking back to him.
"I can not relax. I hate it when someone touches me," Isabella says. She feels like she wants to cry, but she will never cry in front of anyone as she will never give anyone the satisfaction of knowing they are hurting her. Salvatore is not holding her too hard, so he knows he is not harming her. He pushes her head into his shoulder, rubbing his hand over her long hair.
"Relax, I will not allow anyone ever to hurt you again," Salvatore whispers into her ear. Isabella feels her body relax as she gives into Salvatore's touch. She knows she will be safe with him. He will not hurt her even if he wants to kill her sometimes when they fight. Salvatore smiles as he feels her relax against him. Ricco takes another photo while pretending to be texting on his phone. He sends the images to Maddy. Maddy worries about her brother not finding love after that b***h Anita Masimo did him wrong. Maddy receives the photos and wonders who this beautiful woman in her brother's arms is. She does not care as long as she is good for Salvatore. By the looks of it, they are very much in love. Maddy smiles as she shows the photo to her parents. Marcelo and Carol are her parents. She and Salvatore grew up with them, and they even adopted them when they were children. She knows they are her uncle and aunt, but to her, they are the parents she has known for most of her life. Salvatore accepts them as his parents but still sees them more as his uncle and aunt, as he feels that he is betraying his parents, who gave their lives to protect him and Maddy.
"Well, see, it is not that bad when I touch you," Salvatore says to Isabella. Isabella pushes him away and wants to get off his lap, but Salvatore holds her closer to him, and Isabella, who is petite, can not fight against the stronger Salvatore.
"Okay, you made your point. It will not be as difficult as I thought, but can you let go of me now?" Isabella asks.
"Not yet. I like holding you," Salvatore teases Isabella, and she blushes. Salvatore lets go of Isabella, and she jumps back onto the open seat next to him. He caught her unexpectedly, and she must be careful around him. Isabella knows he is a danger to any woman's heart. He is too damn handsome. Isabella swears she will not lose her heart to him as many women do. She saw how her stupid cousin drooled over him.
"You know I am not going to fall in love with you! This is only for the show," Isabella says.
"I know," Salvatore says with a smile.
"You do not seem to realize I am uninterested in you. I am tired and was caught off guard, do not try this again. I am not one of those women that will lose her heart to a man because he kissed her," Isabella says.
"I know," Salvatore says, the smile still on his face.
"I still do not like to be touched but will tolerate it in front of your family. I am not going to jump into your bed," Isabella says.
"Are you done? You talk too much when you are nervous, and there is no need to feel ashamed that you allowed me to hold you. I know you are still the Ice Queen and will never lose your heart to me," Salvatore says. He is now openly smiling. He knows he enjoyed holding her a little too much, but he does not think about it as he knows there is no such thing as love at first sight. He hardly knows Isabella. They are busy for the rest of the day, buying clothes and moving Isabella's stuff to his New York house.
While Slava and Issy are busy in New York, Rosalina is getting ready to meet with Salvatore. She can not wait and is getting her hair and nails done. She knows she and Salvatore will click. Isabella stands no chance of impressing him! She knows Issy thinks she is better than her, and she knows Issy wants Salvatore, but she will not get him as Salvatore will not be able to resist her tonight. Her mother, Mary-Allen, looks proudly at her daughter. Mary-Allen thinks her daughter is the most beautiful girl in Texas, if not America. She does not see her daughter's flaws and does not help her daughter not to throw herself at a man. Tammy and Clark were not happy when Connor decided to marry Mary-Allen. It is not because they think they are better than her or her family, but Mary-Allen was not the right woman for their son. She was a little wild, and even now, she never dresses appropriately for her age. She thinks she is still a young woman and used to work as a stripper in a bar. Still, Tammy and Clark did not even judge her on that, but Mary-Allen likes to spend money, and they know she is not faithful to Connor, who is too stupid to see it. She is also spoiling Rosalina, and they do not like that Rosalina thinks it is okay to use men for money as her mother does. However, they do not interfere in their son's life as they do not want to lose another son. They feel guilty for how they treat Isabella, but they know it is too late to make amends as Isabella does not want anything to do with them, and they can not blame her.
"What do you think, Mom? Am I going to get the Don to fall in love with me? I believe Isabella wants him, but she does not stand a chance against me. She is not in the same league as I am. She was angry because I went to see Salvatore. I bet it is because she is jealous of my beauty," Rosalina says.
"Yes, she is jealous. She can never be as beautiful as you are. You need to hurry. You do not want to be late," Mary-Allen says.
"I am going. Wish me luck," Rosalina says.
"You do not need luck, honey. You have the beauty and will knock Salvatore's feet out under him. Ensure he gives your father Harmonies back and gives us a little money to live off while your father rebuilds Harmonies. This time I will help him. We can make Harmonies a fun restaurant, and I have so many ideas," Mary-Allen says. She dreams of becoming the one that saves Harmonies, and maybe Tammy and Clark will accept her. She has ended all her affairs with other men and is trying hard to become the daughter-in-law Tammy and Clark want, but she feels she will never be good enough. Rosaline leaves her mother to daydream and drives to the Johnson Hotel. She walks up to the reception.
"How can I help you?" The receptionist asks.
"I have an appointment with Mr. Pistone," Rosalina says, looking down at the receptionist. She feels important now that she has an appointment with Salvatore.
"Mr. Pistone already left this morning. Maybe you misunderstood him, and your appointment was last night," The receptionist says.
"No, his secretary told me to be here at five tonight. Maybe he had to leave for urgent business," Rosalina says, disappointed.
"No, miss, he only booked the penthouse until this morning," The receptionist says. She realizes that Mr. Pistone does not want to see this lady. He made the appointment with her knowing he would not be here. Rosalina realizes that as well, and she feels like a fool. She walks out without saying another word. It must be Isabella's doing! Rosalina is furious as she drives home. How dare Salvatore make a fool out of her? It must be Isabella. She must have told Salvatore lies about her! What will she say to her parents, who depend on her, to get Harmonies back?
