13. SHE TEXTED ME!

1017 Words
ACE'S POV I tried to wait for Ivy to come back but she took pretty long and some lady walked into her office. She noticed whom I was from the word go and I have to leave immediately because she had started with the seduction. I was used to this. Girls nowadays chase after money and now that she knew about my Billionare status, she was worse. I left her office and headed to my car where I met my dad's chauffer and Jayden. The chauffer drove us home to my dad's and I told the nurse at home to keep an eye on Jayden as I went over to meet my dad. He was proud of my success and he congratulated me on being in the Forbes issue and I was happy. He told me of some tactics to do better. I listened to him keenly. To make it in life, you have to take advice from people who made it before you. They might be in a different era with you but trust me, the advice does pay at the very end. He also told me of how Yvonne is frustrated to bring me down and I was happy that she was in that state because she did that on herself. She had a good husband and she had a child to take care of but still, she wanted to hoe around. She really deserves the frustration. I ate lunch at my dad's and I intended to go back to my place after lunch. I needed to get my things in order. I have two cases to work on and I needed to plan how I was going to do my defence in court. After I finished up talking with my dad about random things, l went to check on my mum. Seeing her like that broke my heart but what is more. I made a silent wish to God to heal her. She did not deserve what is happening to her right now. It really makes me angry thinking that she is paralysed and cannot talk yet she was just doing a good favour to the people of that Village. I swear, I support what my dad did. Someone had to pay for this. This was an inhumane act by the people of that Village. Before I could start crying, I left her room. The nurse told me that she was getting better but I could not see it. But I hoped what she was saying was true. I really miss my mother. I took Jayden with me and drove home in a limousine that was in my dad's parking lot. When I got home, I found the maids back and they had cleaned the house just like the way I wanted it to be. I called them for a small meeting in the living room. I have one of the maids the authority to look after Jayden without doing something else. I was just going to pay her for looking after my son. I instructed one of the maids who was concerned with the food and cooking to buy more fruits when he goes for shopping. She should also ensure that my son was taking those fruits. The other three maids were going to ensure that the house was clean. I was going to install a detector which I would connect with my phone and that will tell me how Jayden was faring on. If he is unwell then I will know that as long as I am with my phone. I was following Ivy's advice strictly. I wanted to take good care of my son Jayden. I wanted him to be very perfect once I take him back for a checkup. After I had a word with the maids, I went to check on Jayden who was having an afternoon siesta. He looked so peaceful and I kissed him before I left him to sleep. I was never going to take chances with him again. I loved my son so much. It is now my son before anything else in the entire world. I went to my office and opened the file. This was going to be a tough one. I was supposed to defend a company and I was going to do it against the state. This is going to be a big one. I needed to work on it for if I win the case, I will get almost 500million. I have won cases like this before and I am sure I am going to win this. I just have to work on it starting from now. I am not the type to procrastinate therefore I started working on it right away. I started writting short notes on the case and I did my research. I organised the evidence that I had at hand. I was in a middle of clearing a loophole which the ooposition team could use against me when my phone flushed. I wondered whom the person is. I wanted to ignore but something told me that nothing would hurt to check a message. I fished my phone from my pocket and checked on it. Actually, it was not a text message. It was just an email. The topic was please don't sue me. That is what cought my eye as soon as I opened the mail. I checked on information of the sender and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the person sending the message to be Ivy summers. Ivy the doctor. I mean, why could she say that I should not sue her yet we were okay and perfect the last time we talked? My eyes quickly scanned on the context of the text. "Mr.Kennedy, I am sorry for the scolding behaviour when you come with son by the clinic today. I was just giving honest opinions by the doctor. This is so disrespectful of me now that I have found out who you really are. Please don't sue me for the scolding. Today is my first day at work and I really need this work to help my mother and my siblings back at home. I hope this email will change your mind. You are a good lawyer and if you take me to court, then you will obviously win. Please forgive me. Yours Ivy,"
