18. HE WILL BREAK YOU!!

IVY’S POV
I had to cut the awkward moment short by urging Ace to take me to Jayden’s room so that I could check on him. What he said didn’t get out of my mind although. What did he really men by saying that he loves girls like me?
Jayden was asleep. Sleeping like an angel he was. Not an angel crying for mercy but like Angel Gabriel.
I had to wake him up gently and as soon as he opened his eyes, his lips broke into a delightful smile that was contagious thus we all smiled back at him.
“How are you baby,” I asked him as I got out my stethoscope from my handbag.
“He is really happy to see you,” Ace said and I couldn’t agree any less.
His son was adorable. He looked good and as I was doing his checkup, I realized that he was doing really great. His heartbeat was normal and his eyes ad palms were regain their color.
His dad was really doing his best as I had told him. This means that he had been giving him fruits as I advised. I was glad that he actually listened to him.
“I have an app that is monitoring him closely. I did the installation and from today on wards, I will be taking good care of my son and that is thanks to you,” He told me as I returned my medical staff to my leather handbag.
I walked out of his baby room and Jayden started crying. Ace had to pick him up and we walked with him to the living room. Ace was carrying him on his arms.
I wondered where his mother could be. I mean why could she throw away this golden opportunity to be married to the Billionaire? How could she leave a young adorable son like Jayden?
I wish I could ask Ace his questions but I was not in that position to ask about his baby mama, besides, I am just a doctor and I had to do my job only, not to meddle on his personal affairs.
“Your son is doing well. Keep caring for him. I have to go now, it was a pleasure being here, “I told him and I really wanted to leave. Let me confess one thing, being around him makes me be quite anxious, my heart beats quicker and I hope this is not a distraction.
“Stay, I wanted to prepare something to eat,” He suggested but I thought it was wise to leave immediately plus I had to be at work, tomorrow very early in the morning.
“I can’t really, I wish to stay but I have to do some studying tonight. I also have a morning shift,” I said standing and waiting for him to escort me out.
“Come on,” He tried to urge me.
“I really need to go. “ I said with a small perking up my lips.
“Okay, have a seat for a while so that I call my chauffeur,” He told me and I nodded.
He was going to get his phone or something but before he went, he gave me baby Jayden to hold him for a while.
I couldn’t say no. I held the bay and tickled him and he ended up cracking a laughter that filled the entire room. I really love this baby. He is so adorable and lovable. I wonder how her mother could leave alone this kind of a good soul.
“The chauffeur is on his way here,” He told me and sat on the coach opposite from where I was seated.
I could feel his eyes watching me as I played and tickled Jayden. It made me nervous but I tried to be comfortable with that. I don’t have to shrink myself.
“You guys seem to connect a lot,” He noted.
“We are?” I implored. Well, that is a good thing.
“Yes, he laughs a lot around you, I am jealous,” He confessed with a smile.
I was about to say something but his phone rang and we had to leave after he told me that the chauffeur was waiting outside the door. I had to leave Jayden on the coach now that Ace had switched on the TV and that took all his attention away. Well, I wish I was a baby. He has nothing to worry about.
However for me, I have a lot to worry about. I have to worry about my mother, my dad, my siblings, my job and also myself. I am just twenty three with all this worries. I am not complaining though. I was in this position for a reason plus I have to be responsible.
He walked me to the door. I was leading actually. Before I turned the door knob, I turned to look at him and I froze a little when our eyes locked.
Before I could do something else, he pulled me to a warm quick embrace. I inhaled his cologne and it smelled so good.
“Bye, thank you once again for saving my sons life,” He told me.
“By, thanks too,” I said and turned the door knob then walked out.
I could feel his eyes digging daggers on my back and I had to turn and wave at him.
He waved back and that is when I followed the chauffer to the elevator. Thank God there was no elevator hitches thus we got to the ground floor safely.
The chauffer was silent and I needed that. I needed to clear my head. That was going to be difficult however because his cologne was all over my body. I was distracted.
He drove me home and I was grateful when he dropped me by my doorstep.
He drove off and I was too busy to notice that Jeff was seating on my doorstep. Not him again.
“What do you want? I really want to sleep. So, leave!” I ordered him.
“So you are now seeing a rich guy huh!” He snapped at me.
“It is none of your business,” I countered.
“It will be my f*****g business when you come crying to me that he broke your heart,” He told me with an edge on his tone. I watched him as he left my house and walked towards his. He was staggering.
I guess he was drunk because of me.
But I was going to prove him wrong, there is no way I was going to get a heartbreak. Just wait and see how I handle my issues.
