IVY’S POV
I walked into my house and poised at the door to take out my keys. I did not care what Jeff said to me. I didn’t car, he is just drunk and concluding things that he doesn’t understand. Besides, it is not like I was in a relationship with Ace or I wanted that to happen. I cannot b in a relationship now, I still have a lot to do and I didn’t want to be distracted.
Ace on the other hand didn’t want to be in a relationship with me. He was just doing that friendly gesture because I saved his son’s life.
I pushed my door open and walked into my house. I was tired because of the heels so that is the first thing I threw away once I stepped into my house. After that, I got rid of my leather jacket.
I blew several breaths before I sat on my bed. That was so intense. Being in Ace’s place and coming back to my house which didn’t have those expensive things. I would really never forget his house. That guy is really something else.
I heard a growl on my stomach and that is when I prepared some pasta to eat for supper. I ate it and then I took out the Anatomy book I wanted to read. I flipped through the pages and I finally settled on Oncology. I wanted to remind myself of several types of cancer.
I was reading it but then I found myself distracted. I started thinking of how his eyes were perfect when we maintained an eye contact and also when he held me tightly when the elevator crushed.
I tried to focus but I still couldn’t. All my mind thought of is Ace, especially when he said that he loved people like me. Well, what did he mean by that?
I tried my best to concentrate but I just couldn’t. I had to get ready for bed. It was almost clocking 11.00pm. I removed my makeup and washed my face. I also freed my hair from the tight hairband and I got ready for bed.
I changed into my cotton t-shirt nightdress I had for the longest time and brushed my teeth. I allowed water to flow through my body to calm me down before of course wearing the nightdress.
I got to my bed and drew the duvets over my body. I switched off the lights and waited for sleep to catch up with me.

We were stuck with Ace in the elevator again but this time things were very different. The lights didn’t go off, instead, the elevator stopped moving and we were trapped in the space. Ace looked at me and asked me if I was alright. I nodded and wanted to look away but I couldn’t because his eyes attracted me to him.
His eyes become distracted in the next second. He kept staring at my lips as he moved closer to me. He inched his head closer that our nose were actually touching. I felt drown to him like a moth to a flame. I couldn’t fight it when he pulled me to a kiss.
I felt his tongue flick tentatively against mine as his hands got under my dress and he started rubbing in between my legs. I shudder at the unexpected contact as a sudden strong current of electrifying tingles ran through my face to every part of my body.
**
My alarm went off almost immediately and I realized that I had been dreaming. I rubbed my face and my heart was beating twice the normal speed. I felt wet and that included feeling wet in my panties. This has never happened to me before.
I have never felt like this before. I was in shock and a mixture of emotions skidded through my system.
I have never dreamt of a man and feel so good about it. This was my first time. I hate to admit this but each time I thought of his name, a huge amount of heat slid through me and it was damn awesome.
Ace is a distraction and I have to do my best to forget him. He was my client and that was all. I am her to do my job and that is all I was going to focus on.
My alarm chimed again and I knew I had to wake up already or else I would be late. There is no way I was going to lay on my back, covers drawn up to my armpits with my arms resting on top of the duvet staring at the ceiling and thinking about a man.
I turned the music in my phone on and I connected my phone to a speaker which was paired with a Bluetooth device.
Davido’s song Risky boomed in the speaker as I shed my clothes off and walked into the bathroom, turning on the shower. As the warm water cascaded down my naked body, I closed my eyes and told myself to forget Ace and his eyes which distracted me more than anything else in the world.
With my bathroom rob on, I fried some sausages and made some tea. I munched on them hurriedly when they were well cooked and once I was satisfied, I wore a black official dress to work. I carried my lab coat in one hand and my stethoscope in my small bag which also had my personal effects.
I locked the door after wearing some nude flats I normally wear to work.
I was minding my business, walking to the hospital side where there were wards and that is when someone hurriedly chased after me. Who else could it be if not Jeff? Rolling my eyes, I stopped with the walking and waited for him.
“Please, don’t ruin my morning,” I made it clear to him when he finally started walking by my side.
“I know yesterday I acted like an i***t. Please forgive me, I should never have said those bad things I said to you,” He apologized.
“It is not like I took them seriously though,” I told him rolling my eyes again.
“Well, Ivy, I know we cannot date but I don’t want to lose you as a friend, “He told me.
“It is okay but please keep your boundaries. We are just friends. Don’t come meddling into something you don’t know,” I warned him as we passed by the emergency unit of the hospital.
“Okay before I go Ivy, as a friend, I have to tell you this. Ace had a wife and her name is Yvonne. You should find out what she is capable of before you go and hang out with Ace,” He said and this made me terrified. I froze for a few seconds as if I had been bitten with a freeze bug.
