“What made you think you have the right to claim my brother? You don’t deserve Audrey or anyone. Don’t think because you’re pregnant that you would be welcomed into our family, a quick reminder for you: we don’t take in sluts” Alexa asserted mockingly, Charlotte staggered and gripped the edge of the side table to support herself. “You dare to lay your hands on me? I’m going to sue you for harassment” Charlotte retorted.

“Shut up and don’t speak!” Andrew scolded her, “listen, Audrey, give me a chance and I will explain everything” he pleaded and made his way to me, Alexa stepped in front of him, “you have no right to go close to her or mention her name you man slut. You’re a shame to our Garcia family” Alexa let out with eyes burning with rage. I was silent all the time as I was chattered and short of words.

“Were you ever my friend for once Charlotte? I treated you better than my sister Aubrey” she scoffed and rolled her eyes. “You were only showing your superiority as the heir to the Wellington Group. All your actions were to show me that I’m not from your class, what about my parents? They always compared me to you. You always get the limelight while I’m always your backdrop. I’ve decided to get Andrew and you made it so easy for me by s*x starving him now he’s mine” she muttered with certainty, that pissed me off. I glared at her with disgust, walked up to her, and slapped her. “I can’t believe that I’ve been living with a deceitful being, you’re a horrible person. Remember, from today I have nothing to do with you” I said and chuckled.

“You are always a backdrop striving for the things I’ve used and no longer, he is all yours. Andrew, remember that I’m the one that dumps you, from today I don't have anything to do with you” I let out, swirled, and left his apartment. Andrew ran after me but he was stopped by Alexa, who gripped his hand “I’m warning you, don’t try to get close to Audrey. You’ve lost the right of going after her” she flung his hand away and strode towards me.

“I’m so sorry about this Audrey, I can’t believe that Andrew is a man w***e” I forced a smile and held her hand. “Don’t blame yourself for this, it's not your fault. I was the one that took in a deceitful woman for a friend, so don’t be hard on yourself” I uttered. She embraced me and patted my back. “You’re too good to be treated casually, I feel so bad!” She sobbed silently. I pulled her out of my embrace and gaze into her eyes. “Come on, that’s alright! I’m the one that got betrayed. Why are you crying?” I inquired as I wiped off the tears with my finger.

“Don’t act all strong and that, I know you’re hurt. It was hard for you to get a man in your life, so I understand your plight” the tears that I was holding abruptly fell freely on my cheeks. Alexa waved down a cab and motioned me in, “I’ll be right back” she uttered and turned to leave, “hey! Don’t try anything funny”

“What do you think of me?” she chuckled and informed me that she was going to get her job manuscript, I nodded and laid down on the seat.

Alexa stormed back to the house and met Charlotte and Andrew arguing and exchanging words, she shot daggers at the two, hissed, and strode upstairs to her room.

“Can I speak with you for a minute?” Andrew stepped into Alexa’s room.

“I have nothing to say to you Andrew, so get lost!” She ordered. He breathed heavily and walked up to Alexa, “please speak with Audrey, I can’t lose her. I love her a lot” Alexa smirked, twirling her head in disdain. She picked up her manuscript and strode past Andrew who was standing next to the closet. She came out moments later and sat down beside me, “are you feeling better?” She inquired.

“I’m perfect, don’t worry about me” I responded with a clear voice.

“What are you going to do with Charlotte?” I arched my brow confused. “She’s staying at your place, Audrey” my face turned gloomy suddenly. I hadn't thought about that, I was engulfed with anger that I forgot that she was still staying at my apartment, and after a lot of deliberations she concluded. “I’ll move into my villa” I asserted casually.

“What do you mean, you have another house” I nodded in response and explained to her that I just got a new house that is close to my store yesterday.

“That’s interesting, you can move in immediately” I nodded and immediately thought of something. I brought out my phone and called agent Gomez.

“Hello Miss Wellington” he greeted, I sniffled and greeted him back. “I want to put up my apartment in Newbury for rent. Hopefully, they can move in immediately after p*****t” he went mute for a while. “Well, I’ll look into it and get back to you” I ended the call and locked my eyes.

Alexa and I got to my store shortly, I assisted her to apply for the position of secretary in the Wellington Group. “Thanks, Audrey, I’ll treat you to a meal once I get the job” I smiled and told her that it was not necessary, that it was my duty to help her as a friend. We stayed at the store for a while before Alexa bid me goodbye and left. I’m now by myself lost in thought, how will I speak to Aubrey about this, she warned me but I was too blinded to believe her. I made up my mind to speak to her about it later, I packed my things, hailed a cab, and went home.
