Charlotte got herself some moments after I left the house. She suspected the cause of her ailment and slowly walked up the stairs. While walking towards her room, Charlotte noticed that the door to my room was unlocked. She bit her lip and made her into my room and sat down on the bed wondering what my expression would be if her perception of the morning sickness were right. Abruptly, her gaze catches a glimpse of a white paper in my cabinet. She squatted down and took it. Slowly she scanned through the document and was stunned to death.

“What! She even got a villa” she clenched her fist and cursed inwardly.

“Well, I’ll do something about this later, now I have a more important task to handle” she mumbled to herself and kept the document back inside the cabinet and went to her room. She took out two strip kits for a pregnancy test and entered the washroom, she tested her urine with the strips. It was not long before the result was out, Charlotte's lips raised into a smug smile as she had gotten a trump card in her position. “I still have you in my grasp, Andrew” she uttered to herself feeling fulfilled. “I’d have to know what you would do when you find out that we’re having a baby” she removed her clothes and stepped into the shower. She has decided to have a blood check-up at the hospital before visiting him in his apartment. She showered and hailed a cab that took her to the nearest hospital in Newbury.

“Miss, Charlotte Daniel” an attending nurse called her in after a long time of waiting. The doctor performed a series of tests on her and sent her to the waiting room. “Baby, mommy is going to get your dad to our side” she mumbled to herself while caressing her abdomen as she waited for the result to come out.

Sometime later, the result came and it was positive, she beamed with joy and even embraced the nurse that handed her the result. “Thanks, nurse, you don’t know what this meant to me” the nurse let out a stiff smile and patted her back. “Remember to stop by at the pharmacy to get the drugs prescribed for you” she nodded stiffly and watched as the nurse left. Charlotte couldn’t wait any longer to tell the news of their baby to Andrew, she grabbed her purse from the seat and stepped out of the hospital. A cab approached her immediately, she showed the cab driver the address the moment she entered the car. The cab accelerated the car and it wasn’t long before he pulled over in front of Andrew's apartment. This was a massive surprise for him as he was not expecting Charlotte to barge in on him. He sticks his head and glances around checking out if someone might have seen her coming and drastically pulled her in afterward.

“What's the meaning of this, why are you? I’d remember that I made myself clear the last time. Besides Audrey and I are back to normal. I don't want you standing in my way” he asserted, placing his hands on his waist. Charlotte sneered and slowly burst into laughter.

“Is that what you think, that you can have me and dump me for some dumb b***h? I’m telling you now Andrew you have come to the wrong place” she let out and threw the test result at him.

“And what’s this? I’m not in for your petty tricks..” he blurted out but was suddenly silent when he read the content in the paper.

“What! You’re pregnant, is this some kind of joke?” He let out with a creased brow as his face slowly turned pale.

“Bang!” I froze as my Chanel bag fell to the ground, gazing at the two with wide eyes. Alexa and I had headed back to Andrew's apartment to get her manuscript as I had promised to assist her to apply for a job in the Wellington Group, I never expected to bump into these alarming secrets. The sound of my handbag falling to the ground disrupted their conversation as they turned their gaze towards the door. Andrew's eyes widened as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. Charlotte sneered and walked up to Andrew, she clasped his arm standing beside him. I locked my eyes and bit my lips and prayed that this should be a dream, that Alexa and I would take what we came for and leave. Andrew snatched his hand away from Charlotte and strode to me.

“It’s not what you think Audrey, please come in and I would explain to you” asserted gripping my hand, my eyes open the moment he touched me. I shoved him aside, glaring at him with disgust.

“You still have the nerve to hold my hands after getting her pregnant, what lie do you want to tell me again?” I inquired with an expressionless face. He was silent looking down at the floor. I breathed heavily and shifted my gaze to the one person I called my friend, “you have the mind to sleep with my boyfriend under my nose? I’d never imagined that you could do such a thing to me, we’ve been friends for decades Charlotte, how could you? I should have listened to Aubrey, she saw this coming” I muttered with disdain, sniffling back the drop of tears that were threatening to fall down my cheeks. I’m not going to stoop so low to cry in front of them, that’s giving them what they want.

Charlotte smirked, “it’s great that you’ve found out about us, I was already tired of playing good and listening to your disgusting lovey-dovey act. Now that you’ve seen that we’re having a child, I’d plead you stay away from Andrew” she mumbled as she moved towards Andrew and clutched his arms. I was astounded by her response, hopefully, I was wrong to think that she would deny the whole thing and attempt to clear herself but she did the opposite.

“Pah!” Alexa landed a slap on her face which left a deafening sound in the whole room.
