Chapter 39

“What about lunch? There is nothing in the house” he mumbled softly, Alexa smirked and ignored him, she quickly applied pink lipstick, curled her hair, and left. He was filled with rage as he had no money on him, and he had some issues at work that caused his wage to be delayed. He strode down to the living room and sat down waiting for Charlotte to return as that was the only person he could free his anger on. While clasping Charlotte's hand he shot daggers at her, “if you want to continue staying here, you will have to abide by my rules” he warned with red shot eyes. Charlotte yelped as she was in a lot of pain, he yanked her hand away and stormed out of the house. Andrew hailed a cab and went to a beer pub to drown himself. “I can’t believe that I’ve lost Audrey, because of a short moment of self-pleasure” he gulped down a glass of tequila in front of him as he was downcast, “if I had known that I would lose Audrey because of this, I would never look at Charlotte and I haven’t even had her” he grunted and hit his hand at the counter. I left my store shortly after the turmoil caused by Charlotte was settled as many people gathered to get a hint of what was happening around the new store. I sighed, afraid that this might ruin the reputation of Rey Grandeur and its new product. The paparazzi and my rivals have always been looking for an opportunity to slander me. Slowly the crowd that gathered dissipated, and Addison and the other workers had long gone, I picked up my handbag, locked the store, and strode down the street. It was quite hard to see a cab, so I trekked down the bus station. Luckily I was able to meet the last bus which I entered. Sometime later the bus stopped, I came down and strolled down the cold district that emanates a cold aura and a chilling breeze. “Bang!” I bumped into someone as I was lost in thought, clearly thinking about what had occurred in the afternoon. “Omg, I’m so sorry” I asserted, recovering myself. “It’s nothing, you should watch where you’re going, this place is aerie” I looked up and realized that I had bumped into a lady, I was amazed by what she said but I had no reason to believe her. Although this district emanates a cold aura and a chilling breeze, it’s probably because of the ocean that is close by, “I’m sorry once more” I muttered and bowed curtly. I walked towards my villa that was a few miles away, typed in the passcode, and stepped into the villa. I abruptly turned as I had the feeling that someone was watching me, however, the lady that I just bumped into was staring right at me. I was terrified, “why is she staring at me like that?” I arched my brow and stared at her once more. The gate locked automatically, I had to hasten my pace afraid of the looks the lady was giving me. “Poor woman! She didn’t know what she had gotten herself into” she muttered while twirling her head, she shrugged and left. I breathed in relief the moment I saw her disappearing silhouette as I was hiding behind a bench that was in the garden. “Woof woof” I heard a dog barking continuously, I bit my lips glancing around the house. “Where is the dog from?” I uttered as I thought it must be a hungry dog, the owner must have starved him. I thought and strode past Ryan who was standing at the door with Ariel. “Look how disrespectful she is to us” shadow muttered attempting to irk Ryan, he hissed and walked into the house. He ambled behind him as I made my way to the room. However, I kept turning back, I felt that someone was behind me, that I was supposed to be scared but I knew that nothing was behind me because I don’t believe in such things. I threw my handbag and cellphone on the bed, removed my clothes, and entered the washroom. “I can’t believe I’m here again watching this creature relive her clothes” Ryan asserted placing his hand on his forehead, he swirled and left the room. I hurried with my bath, dried my body, and wore pink pajamas. I threw myself on the bed at the same time grabbing my cell phone. I immediately surfed the internet and checked my social media handle. Atlas, there was no news about my store, I heaved a sigh of relief and laid my back on the bed. “Thankfully I escaped this time, what would I do if both Charlotte and Andrew decided to create a scene?” I let out a deep breath and cursed myself for meeting such losers. “Beep!” My cell phone rang, snapping me out of my daze. “Hello!” I muttered without checking the caller ID, it was already hard for me to pick up the call. I was thinking that I could doze while thinking but rather a call came in. “Hey, Audrey!” Aubrey’s piercing voice cut through my quiet time. I locked my eyes and groaned, “Hey sis!” I responded casually as I had nothing to say at the moment. “Hey! What’s the matter? You’re not sounding good. Tell me did someone bully you?” I hissed, I really want to have some time to myself, I have no energy to speak with anyone now. I thought that answering the call casually would make Aubrey end the call but she noticed that something was odd and continued to meddle. “Charlotte! She came to create a scene at my store today. She had the nerves to warn me to stay off Andrew and that I’m a homewrecker. Damn! I was close to snapping, I’m just worried that the media might take up the news and use it against me" I explained. “Oh my God! Audrey. You let her off?” I rolled my eyes and threatened to end the call.
