It has gone from weeks to a month since the issue arrived between Charlotte and Andrew. Things were going well with Andrew and me, we even scheduled on meeting his parents during the weekend as we’re already in a new week. The agent contacted me shortly while I was in the store and notified me that there was a manor out for sale. The last time I spoke to him, he showed me an abandoned manor that wasn’t to my taste. I had to postpone our search till he gets a better villa, as I can’t be leaving my store to go check on a house which wouldn’t be up to my standard. That’s a waste of time, I have a lot of projects to finish before the year runs out, and my store is drastically making great progress that I’m even planning on opening a branch, so I can’t just step out of my store and end up without progress. “Mr. Gomez, I don’t want this to be like last time. You will have to send the photos of the manor to my email” I asserted, giving him no space for an excuse. The agent accepted my conditions and ended the call.
“Beep!” I got a notification on my tablet shortly after the call ended. I scrolled through the photos and was astounded that my jaw was literally dropped. “This is paradise” I mumbled, took my phone, and called agent Gomez. This villa is too good to be left out, and I believe many people must be hunting for it. The call went through after the second ring, I informed him that I was in, and he sent me the address which I used to locate the manor.
“Thanks, mister” I uttered to the cab driver and paid him, I met Mr. Gomez standing in front of the manor, I guess waiting for me. He smiled and motioned me in when he caught a glimpse of me arriving.
“Wow, this place is absolutely nice” I let out glancing around the villa, I was more stunned when I found out that there was an ocean a few miles away inside the manor.
“Mr. Gomez, why are the owners selling the house? This manor is too precious to be sold. It’s hard and even more expensive to get a house that is built almost close to the ocean” he chuckled and told me that the owners were leaving the states and had no one to take care of the manor so they are selling it.
“Guess what?” He breaks my thoughts, I arched my brow staring blankly at him.
“Well, the amount to be paid is not much, that is the most surprising part of it. It’s just like they’re dashing out the manor” I widened my eyes and muttered a silent prayer that God is on my side. I ambled behind agent Gomez, checking out the whole manor, everything was still new and in place just like someone has been staying here but I thought the owners were out of the state? I thought to myself but was quickly brought back to earth.
“What do you think about the house, Miss Wellington?” Agent Gomez inquired. I heaved a sigh of relief and folded my arms.
“This is perfect, it’s more than my standard but I love it. I think I would go for it” I muttered, he nodded with a smile, “a million-dollar Miss Wellington” I froze and was startled.
“Are you serious about this?”
“Of course Miss Wellington, I told you that the price would be a surprise to you”. Clicked my lips wondering what could have prompted the owners to sell out the house at such a cheap price? I was even thinking that its down p*****t would be a hundred million dollars but it was brought down to a million dollars. “f**k! This house should be worth billions as it was in a tourist area with everything available” the shoved the thoughts out of my mind and snickered. “Let’s seal the deal!” I muttered, and the owners were called. The formalities were settled after I made my p*****t, the agent and I went to the lawyer Derrick to validate the house papers which didn’t take long for the ownership to be transferred to me.
“Thank you lawyer Derrick, agent Gomez” I affirmed and exchanged a handshake with them.
I took a cab back to my store beaming happily that I’d gotten a mansion for myself. I planned on sharing my good news with Andrew during the weekend as we have scheduled to meet, I bet he would be surprised. I chuckled out loudly lost in a daze.
“We’re here ma’am,” the cab driver said, snapping me out of my daze. I flinched, paid up the driver and sauntered to my store. The day ended quickly and I had to go back to my apartment. All my workers had left and I was the only one remaining at the store doing some sketching on my sketch pad. I ordered a ride, packed my things, locked the store and left when the ride arrived.
Arriving home, I strode up to my room and kept the ownership papers that were in my custody inside the cabinet. I had my bath, wore red nightwear, and walked downstairs.
Charlotte was lost that she didn’t know when I sneaked up on her, “why are you lost?”
“Nothing, just thinking about my life, I embraced her and made it known to her that things would go better.
Atlas, it was time for dinner, we ate the food on the table without wasting a bit of it. “I’ll go back to my room, I need to check on Andrew” I let out and left.
Charlotte stood up from the seat, pacing the dining room. She was restless about the things happening. “I must find a way to hold on to Andrew” she muttered to herself while biting her lips thinking of ways that could benefit her and also bring Andrew to him.
