“Argh!” I grabbed one of the minions and threw him to the ground. I swirled to the bulky man staring at him viciously, “what do you think I am, a clown?” I asked, shooting him a glare. He fidgeted and stepped back. Abruptly I became invisible, raised the man by his leg, and flung him multiple times on the ground. I hit the thugs very badly to the point that they couldn’t rise to their feet, they confessed to their crime and also mentioned Charlotte as the one who instigated the plan. I huffed while I locked my eyes, “such a pushover!” I uttered and quickly connected the confession of the thugs on a speaker and left the store.

“How will she take care of herself if she leaves the villa?” I muttered angrily as I stepped into the house.

“Hey! You’re back! When did you leave? I’ve been searching for you” Shadow mumbled and strode towards me. I sighed deeply and sat on the sofa.

“Nothing much, I followed Audrey to work” I uttered casually and relaxed on the sofa.

“What!” He sat beside me and gestured for me to explain. I sneered and ignored him. He is becoming quite nosy, I thought and looked away from him. He groaned and appeared before me.

“What the heck Shadow, can’t I have a moment of silence on my own?” I scolded with a gloomy face.

“I’m your assistant Ryan, I need to know the things you do” he asserted firmly, still being insistent on knowing what I had done with Audrey.

“Well, to your dismay nothing happened. I just scared some hoodlums away, she is not even aware of it” I mumbled with bitterness. Shadow grew silent for a while thinking of what to say to me as I was hurting.

“Well, that’s the thing we do for a passerby, it will be added to your good deeds in the demon clan” he let out, attempting to pacify me. I hissed, stood up, and stretched myself. I found no reason to take all my anger on Shadow, he was only doing his work as my assistant and he is a good one. However, I won’t let him know how good he is, else he would become proud while acting without restriction.

“Remember, we’re taking action against Audrey tonight. Mind you, no excuses or mercy” I affirmed, he nodded his head slowly and remained silent. I can’t risk her life and that of my clan, if the stray demons find out that I have something for a human, they will hunt her down and I wouldn’t want any harm to come to Audrey, I thought as I strode up to her room.

Audrey

I was nearly frightened to death by the loud buzz emanating from my cell phone, I jumped off the bed and went for my phone which was on the table beside the bed.

“Hello” I uttered grumpily with closed eyes as I was being disturbed from sleep.

“Hello Miss Audrey, this is Addison” she explained, that was when I opened my eyes, took the cellphone out of my ear, and checked the caller ID.

“Hey! What the matter? This is too early” I let out while glancing around the room, everywhere was still dark and I wondered why Addison was up and disrupting my sleep.

“Ma’am, this is eight-thirty a.m and the models from the DX are on their way to the office,” she uttered. How is that even possible? I thought and checked the time on my cell phone. I nearly screamed while jumping off the bed. I strode to the window and raised the curtain, I was stunned to see the blaring sun shining through the glass window.

“The f**k!” I dropped the call and rushed to the washroom. I had decided to sleep with the curtains closed as I was tired of the blaring morning sun shining right into my eyes. I did my morning routine in the washroom, moved to the closet and clad in my body hug blue gown, a Prada bag, white sandals, and stepped out of the closet. I hurriedly tied up my hair as I had no time to style it. I took my cell phone from the table and checked the time.

“Omg, this is nine a.m” I screamed and left after shoving the phone into my bag. “Buzz!” The phone vibrated, I had to take it out again and connect the call. “What’s the matter? I’m on my way already, take care of everything” I asserted.

“One more thing ma’am” I heard Addison say when I attempted to end the call.

“There is a problem, we have no van to take the models to the studio and they will be here soon” I hissed and berated her for not letting me know on time.

“Stall the time, I’ll be there” I uttered and rushed downstairs” I hurried out of the villa and boarded a cab. With the assistance of Aubrey, I was able to get three vans that could be used to move the models to the studio.

Shortly, the cab driver pulled over in front of my store, I paid him up and ambled into my store.

“Had they arrived?” I inquired with an expressionless face.

“No, they’re stacked in traffic”. I heaved a sigh of relief, these are elite models from DX Group who need to be treated carefully, or else they will use it as a chance to taunt my store and bring it down. I don’t want to have a misunderstanding with the crew.

“Miss Audrey, see! There are three vans parking in front of our store” Addison let out snapping me out of thought. I turned to the exit and saw the vans sent by Aubrey, I beamed and moved out of my store.

“Thanks, sis! I’ll make it up to you” I uttered to a lady who was wearing sunglasses, a nose mask, and a hat. She nodded and gave me a thumbs-up, before entering a red Ferrari. Luckily, Aubrey was here to aid me, I would’ve gotten into a huge problem with the models.

“Call the studio and tell them that we would be there soon,” I told Addison as I stepped back into the store. Abruptly, I felt a presence behind me and quickly turned, but found no one. Ryan who was standing in front of me raised his lip into a slight smile. He was happy that I was able to answer his presence even without seeing him or knowing him.
