Addison arrived shortly after I unlocked the store. I was particularly stunned to see her, I wasn’t expecting her to come to work earlier as she has already prepared the things that I would be needing for the trade fair. Although I’m not expecting her, I was glad to see her come to support me, “thanks” I uttered gratefully, she giggled and told me not to worry. “Rey Grandeur is ours, so I’d suppose to be here” she asserted while gripping my hand.

“Come on, we’ve got this,” I said and dragged her into the store. With the assistance of Addison I packed the things needed for the trade fair in a small luggage and waited for five o’clock.

“Beep!” My cellphone blares, it was four-thirty and I’ve got to leave, because I have to be at the trade fair ground by five, I took the slot and shoved it into my purse. I ordered a ride which arrived in twenty minutes, now I only have ten minutes to reach the trade fair ground which was an open space at the back of Astor Enterprises which is one of the top companies in the US, some sources said that they were the ones that were holding the fair to be able to establish upcoming brands and designers. I’d heard from my parents that the Astor's are one weird family that doesn’t engage in any social function but they made billions in a day. That’s why I doubt if they were truly the ones that are hosting the event. The Astor Enterprise was a mile away from my store and I also wouldn’t need a cab to reach the event field but for safety precautions and because it was still early I had to take the cab to the fair. Addison joined me in the cab, and it didn’t take long before the cab driver pulled over in front of the open space.

“Thank you, mister,” I said to him and made my p*****t.

Glancing around the trade fair ground, everywhere was as bright as the sky, the lights were on and the competitors were arriving while some were already rooted on the spot. I heaved a sigh of relief and walked to the queue where it seemed to me like they were validating the slot. Most of the competitors were glaring at me, mumbling and whispering to themselves. I slightly heard one of them say, “she’s too young to be here, what does she know about being a fashion designer or a brand owner?” The lady mumbled. These draw a lot of attention to me but I don’t give a damn because I know that I had to fulfill my dream that is a mile away from me, I hissed and ignored them.

“How dare you slander my boss? None of you have the right to speak against my boss. We are all here for the trade fair, it’s free and fair. We should wait for the result when it’s due” Addison barked back at the ones who wanted to cause trouble for me at the event ground. They sneered and looked away.

“You don’t need to do that,” I said with a confused expression. I don’t want anyone to be berated or get into any trouble because of me. Besides this is a new brand, it’s yet to hit the market. They can easily cause trouble for me as I haven’t gained a foot in the industry. “I’m sorry miss Audrey, but I couldn’t stand them demeaning you. We put our best in this project, we can’t allow them to make us feel less” she asserted, I breathed and kept silent as I don’t want to continue speaking about the incident. It will only make the rest of my day gloomy.

Soon, the ones that seems like the organizers arrived, they said a few words to the crowd and asked the person in charge of validating the slots to start, it took two hours before it got to my turn, the personnel ushered me, and I hurriedly went through the formalities and got my slot validated. The attendant gave a number which was where my clothes could be placed. I beamed, thanked him, and left.

“How did it go?” Addison approached me with an anxious face. I heaved a sigh of relief and told her that everything was fine, I showed her the paper given to me by the attendant, and she creased her brow and glanced around, “I think it’s here” she pointed to the direction of my company name. “Look, they’ve already provided everything for us, this is going to be nice” Addison clapped her hands excitedly. I chuckled and strode in the direction, “I hope this ends well, this is my only chance of hitting the market” I thought as I roamed my hand on the storage for clothes and accessories.

“We’ve got to head back so that we’d return before it gets started” I snapped out of a daze hearing Addison's voice. I nodded swiftly and strode out of the trade fair ground, it didn’t take for us to reach the store, Addison grabbed the luggage for the outfits. I opened the locker and took a small box that contained the company cards I created for my brands. “All good to go” I let out and stepped out of the store.

“Ma’am hurry up, the fair would begin in a bit” I hissed and locked up the store, I had no chance to check the time. So I hailed a cab, we put the boxes in the trunk and entered the car. The driver zoomed off and soon pulled over at the event center.

“Come on Addison, get the luggage” I muttered as I paid the cab driver. She handed the box that contained the cards and took the luggage in.

Quickly, I hung the outfits on the storage and wore the blouse that had Rey Grandeur on it. “Put it on quickly!” I gave one to Addison and patiently waited for them to start the event.
