“Honey, ain’t you overreacting in front of the boys and our visitors?” Mum walked into the study room and affirmed. Dad sitting down on his chair shot mum a glare, she licked her lips and sat down on the sofa.

“What is the progress of Ryan and Laura?”

“They are getting on it. Laura is getting to know Ryan which I found nice, it’s just a matter of time and things will go as planned” that lightened dad's mood a little. Although he didn’t believe that I would allow Laura to get close to me, he still wishes for what mum had to be true.

“Don’t rush out the dining without again, I’ll tell the servants to send your food here” she warned, turned, and left dad who was lost in thought. He can’t wait to get the support of the prime minister to wipe out the deadly clans which were a threat to us.

Stepping into my villa, I met Shadow sitting on the sofa with cold feet. He stood up immediately as he noticed I had walked into the house.

“You’re back, did you get anything?”

“What else did you want me to find? You’d already gone through the book of prophecy; it won't change because I read it.” My words were full of sarcasm as I sneered. I didn’t go straight asking about Audrey, doing that would make Shadow think that I’m obsessed with her and that would make me reluctant to release her from the hypnosis. However, I decided to wait till evening. She might have gone out with friends or families. Besides, I barely know her or her family. She's just some girl I crossed part with while she was staying in my villa.

“Ryan, it’s already time to get off work but Miss Audrey isn’t back” Shadow uttered with an alarmed tone. I chuckled and turned to him, “I can see that you’re worried about the human lady” mockingly said.

“Of course, I should be worried. I thought you read the book, today and tomorrow is the best and last day to reverse the hypnosis” he responded, snapping me out of my delusional thoughts. Probably I was thinking that Shadow has accepted Audrey and will be ready to support me if I want to claim her, but it was only my mind overthinking it. I soon got back to my mind when I realize what he meant I sprang up from the sofa,

Pacing the living room.

“This is bad! Why did she have to leave now that things are critical?” I mumbled while pacing the room. I took out my cell phone and made a call to Rodney who took a long time to answer.

“You damned man! Why can’t you just let me be? You just left the mansion some moment ago” he asserted as he connected the call. I huffed and scolded him for speaking Ill of me. “What is it this time? I don’t know why you’re still hiding in your Shadows when everything is perfect, it’s been decades and the lady hasn’t shown up. I’d suggest you step out of your crib, there is no prophecy” his tone was irritated because he knew I was the only one that could scold him and get away with it. However, Rodney thinking that the prophecy isn’t real is unbelievable, although I did blame him for saying so. It’s been decades and the one with the special blood hasn’t shown up, who could have known that she will walk into my house and seduce me. I sighed and clicked my lips together, “are you done with your banters?”

“Go ahead and speak, I’m listening” He retorted.

“Well, I just need you to do some inquiry for me. Rey Grandeur, I want you to check in and see if the CEO is at work today” I made my request brief and easy for him to understand. Rodney chuckled dryly, “I’d know you have something with the lady, that is why you have been spying on her. That’s alright, I will assist you. Beep!” The call ended.

Shortly, I got a call from Rodney and quickly connected the call. “Tell me”

“Hehehe. Bro, chill.” He asserted with laughter. “The secretary mentioned that she won’t be at work for three days, she took a break” my jaw dropped as I stared through the space.

“Hello, are you listening to me?”

“You’ve done great! You can take one week off from work as your reward” he screamed and wanted to speak, “beep” the call ended. He groaned and gritted his teeth. “Cold-blooded demon” Rodney had mumbled with an irritated tone, he shoved aside the differences he had with me when he realized that I had given him a week off, “Woah! I can hang out with my friends, just as usual” he muttered and grabbed his phone to text one of his demon friends. “Buzz!” a notification from Ryan, he frowned thinking about what I could have sent to him. He tapped on the notification and read the message, “don’t hang out in the clubs, I got my eyes on you” he threw his phone on the sofa and slammed his hand on the table.

“Is he kidding me? You gave me a week off and you’re still trying to dictate what I should do with my week off from work. f**k! This is hilarious” he let out. “Well, I’m still going to do what I want, it’s my day off and I won’t end up listening to your lame order the whole week. I had to enjoy it to the fullest” He thought to himself, grabbed his blazers, and headed towards the door.

“Buzz, buzz” “another notification from Ryan” he switched off his cell phone and threw it into his pants pocket.

“Call me if anything comes up in the company,” Rodney said to Daniel, his secretary, and took an elevator to the parking lot. His driver accelerated the car and drove him to his private apartment. All of Astor's sons have a private apartment, except for me. It's widely known by everyone that I have a private villa. Rodney and Liam had a secret apartment that no one is aware of. With the assistance of my private investigator, I got to find out how they live their life. I'd always keep a watch on them.
