And just like that, the investigation ended.
I was left gaping as Alpha King Leo didn’t even look back to receive questions as to why it ended so suddenly, he simply escorted my mother back upstairs.
“What the hell…” I stared in shock. I didn’t expect that it would be over so easily. It didn’t feel real to me.
My mother glanced back at me before she got out of sight. I blinked at her in confusion, and she gave me a certain look back. I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant, but she probably had a way to convince the Alpha to stop investigating the case.
Although the investigation had stopped, I was sure that it would have a certain impact on us as a family.
Maybe it might not be obvious, but it definitely would affect them.
