Robin stood next to her friends as if she was their bodyguard: with a stern expression and crossed arms. Blair and Iris were used to this side of Robin, other people, however, eyed her up and down as she stood between Iris and a guy, blocking them from having any interaction. They were in a queue at the mall. Iris found the ‘best dress ever made’. Blair was also on the queue but only because she wanted to look at the stuff store put along the queue lines of the shop. The idea was that you would pick something from those boxes of jewellery and hand creams while waiting.
Iris looked at Robin with a pointed look. “You really think this is necessary?” She whispered. Werewolf hearing could register it as a normal tone, while humans didn’t understand what was uttered. Robin nodded. “I saw him eying you, and as soon as we entered the queue he followed.” Iris sighed, she noticed it too, but maybe it can be written off as coincidence. Maybe he was looking at the rack of clothing behind her. Whatever it was, they only had 2 people in front of them and the guy didn’t even look that cute.
“Finally, now we can get food.” Blair breathed out as they exited the shop. Iris chuckled. “Sorry, but you need to agree that the dress was worth it.” She said and girls nodded. Robin spotted an empty table in the food court and tried to make her way there quickly but not too quickly to alarm the humans. “You guys go get stuff, and get me a coke,” Robin said and sat down, guarding the table and scrolling on her phone.
She heard footsteps approaching her but could care less so didn’t even lift her head. Owner of the footsteps cleared their throat and she looked up. It was Wilder. She chuckled as she saw the scar on his nose. “You,” She said and he nodded. “And?” He said. She looked at him in confusion. “And what?” He smiled which was really irritating Robin. “Well, I thought I at least deserved a thank you.” He said referring to the yesterday’s events. Robin chuckled and leaned back. “I didn’t ask you to get involved or to start a fight. So, I don’t see the point in thanking you.”
Wilder rolled his eyes. “Alright then, I should have left you to destroy the restaurant in an anger fit. I could sense your anger from a mile away, I don’t think you could have handled it without breaking his hand.” Wilder said and Robin saw pieces of truth in his words, but nevertheless replied with. “And what did you do? Get beaten up instead. He is a human they do not have that much body strength.” In a way saying that you couldn’t even kick human’s ass why are you trying to do it with me?
Wilder chuckled and pointed at himself. “I am too beautiful for that If I punched him well it could bruise my hands.” He said and showcased his rings. Robin rolled her eyes and looked at him. Dark hair, piercings in on-ear, has a knife earring and the classic black and yellow sparked eyes from his father.
Wilder looked at her, it was clear that she was checking him up, maybe he was getting some ‘thank you’ for getting beaten up after all.
“Well, first of all, I wouldn’t say that you are that beautiful and I don’t think there was much of it you could lose by throwing a few good kicks,” Robin said and shattered Wilders plan. He didn’t say anything but heard laughter from distance. He and Robin turned to the noise at the same time. River and Carter were eavesdropping on their conversation and when they saw Wilder’s angry look they just turned around and walked in opposite direction.
Wilder turned around to leave but Robin called one last time. “Don’t blame your bad fighting skills on looks, sweetheart.”
Wilder walked back to his friends who were done snickering and crossed his arms. “She doesn’t know what she is losing. I am part of Alphas for f***s sake. She has to respect me.” River chuckled at his friend’s reaction. “It happened, Wilder of River Banes Pack got his first rejection.” Carter teased, seeing that it didn’t cheer Wilder up, Carter pats his arm. “All jokes man, f**k that b***h, she is probably waiting for her mate or some shit.” River nodded. “Yeah, you got bad luck this last few days, all the ladies are waiting for the soulmates and stuff.” Wilder uncrossed his arms and sighed. “Yeah, probably, wasn’t that interested in her anyways,” Just like that he dropped the subject completely and suggested going to Adrian’s place to have something to drink.
Boys were happy that he dropped the subject this quick, no one wanted that awkwardness too continue. But Wilder was boiling inside, she called him ugly, she called him out on not being able to fight and all this before he even got her name. He knew that she was from his pack, but he only socialized with people who came to talk to him, he never went after anyone, never was the one to ask for friendship, everyone always offered him everything. Apart from her. Wilder wanted to growl and yell which was surprising as he really is not that affected by the whole thing.
It is all good, he shoot his shot and she caught it and threw it right back at him and it feels like it hit right in the balls.
Robin was rather pleased with how she handled the situation some (Iris) might say that calling him not that beautiful was cruel and it wasn’t polite. While some (Blair) might say that it was good that he called him out on not being able to fight because it was really irritating and as one of the senior ranked members of the pack, he needs to do better.
Robin shrugged as soon as topic changed to Alpha’s family and his new son looking for a mate. This wasn’t her stuff, she didn’t belong here, in this conversation or this pack.
She wanted to say that she is of the pure Beta bloodline that both her mother and father were Beta’s. But what would that get her? Some pitiful looks at max. The war was long over and the half-destroyed building she called home was probably taken over by trees.
Blair nudged her leg and Robin looked at her friends. “Sorry, zoned out.” She said and took some of Iris’s food. Robin was getting too depress-y right there. She needs to fix it.
She took out her phone and texted Margo. Club?
