Chapter 5

Wilder looked at her with amusement on his face. Karma. He thought. “Omg, Ro, I am sorry,” Hope said and looked at Robin who looked pained. She took in a deep breath and motioned for Hope to stop. “It is all good,” She turned to Wilder her fist forming. “Listen, f**k head, do you have nothing else to do other than come where you are not needed?”  Wilder chuckled and crossed his arms in front of his chest. To be honest he didn’t know why he came over to her side as well. It was as if his ear was tuned to hear her voice wherever he went.    “Well, I saw a fellow pack mate complain about Moon Goddess I wasn’t going to miss that opportunity.” Robin nodded with and obviously fake smile. “Good, now, shoo. I have better things to do.” She waved him away and Wilder chuckled. “Sweetheart, you definitely know who I am, you can’t shoo me away, if anything, I should be the one doing that.”    Robin was getting angry by second. She looked at Hope who looked more uncomfortable by the whole situation than she was. Hope always disliked fights and let alone one with Alpha’s son. Challenging authority figures wasn’t her favourite activity.    “What the hell is going on over here?” The coach said as he approached them. He looked from confused Hope to Robin who looked like he could murder Wilder. That prick was always causing of problems and Robin looked like he could quiet him down good.    “Right, change of pairings, Robin, Wilder, you are working together now.” Wilder sent Robin a wink, he could irritate her even more now. “Move to practise fighting. Robin, you start.” This time Robin stood taller and showed Wilder a middle finger. She was allowed to beat him up.   Wilder felt worried about how happy Robin was about the fight. She could definitely kick his ass. But only because he wasn’t a fan of confrontation and fights in general. As he said before, he is too beautiful to fight.    Robin took the stance and Wilder did too. Wilder was about to say something about why wasn’t she starting when a punch flew towards him, he ducked and moved away but suddenly there was a second punch and he didn’t have enough time to react. Where the hell are you when I need you? Wilder asked his wolf. His wolf wasn’t talking or helping with dodging anything. Wilder jumped back and took his stance. It was his turn to hit.    Robin seemed satisfied by her punches and was looking at the alpha offspring who was fixing his stance. “Move it, alpha.” She said with sarcasm and he threw a punch, she caught it and tried to twist his hand but Wilder wiggled out of her grip and kicked her in the stomach. She stumbled back with a chuckle. “Now, this looks more like fighting.” Without losing any time Robin lunged at him and threw a punch, which he dodged. But she was planning on it, as he moved away from the punch she extended her foot and he stumbled on it and dropped to the ground.    Wilder laid on the ground and tried to make sense of what just happened. She stood over him and looked distracted which Wilder took as an opportunity, he kicked her legs and made her drop to the ground as well. He secured her one arm on the ground and as she lifted other to push him away he rolled her over, trapping both of her arms behind her with his grip on her waist, holding her down.    “Looks like I am winning.” He said still not understanding how he was actually winning. Robin chuckled from under his grip. “That’s because I haven’t made my move yet,” with that Wilde tried to apply more pressure to hold her down but was unsuccessful as she lifted herself from the ground with her arms and he turned around to see a kick coming towards his face.    He got kicked on the nose, which was really bad as it was just done healing from the last time. He groaned and laid on the grass. He could smell the blood from his nose. He wanted to get up but Robin was quicker and pinned both of his arms over his head, and put her knee on his stomach. “Give up.” She said. The fight wasn’t done until one of them gave in and called it off.    “Let’s settle this on a draw,” Wilder said and tried to get his arms out of her grip. It was harder to do with sparks that appeared every time his skin came in contact with hers.    “Sparks?” He said out loud with his eyes wide. “What?” said Robin and looked form his startled face to their hands that were touching. Sparks. She jumped back from Wilder as if he was a wildfire. She looked at her own hands, trying to find the fault in them. What was that? She thought hoping her wolf would give her an answer. But she was quiet. She has been too quiet today.    She looked back at Wilder who was up from the ground and dusting himself. She was still sitting on the ground. “If this is something you did to get out of the situation...” she threatened.  Wilder shook his head. “Who do you think I am? No one can fake a spark. They only come when.” He didn’t complete the sentence.    They only come when you are touching your mate.    No, this wasn’t supposed to happen. This wasn’t possible. She could have sensed it, earlier, right? If this prick was her mate she should have known it earlier. She fixed her hair. Wilder walked towards her and extended his hand for her to take and get up.    She grabbed his arm but sparks were much stronger now as if she was being suffocated by them. Both of them pulled away and looked at the other as if they just got stabbed.    Robin lifted herself from the ground and moved a few more steps away from Wilder. “This can’t be.” She said. Wilder chuckled. “Really? Sparks seem to think otherwise.” He was angry, he didn’t want this, he didn’t need this. It was his gap year for f***s sake. He doesn’t need a mate right now. Especially the one who called him ugly.    They are supposed to spend forever together. This popped into their head and both hated the idea of it so much that they moved another step away from each other. Then another step, and another, until both of them were walking in opposite directions.
