Seeing Amelia sitting across from me on a Tuesday afternoon still felt surreal to me. I couldn't believe it when my secretary placed my itinerary for the day in front of me this morning.
“Amelia Jenkins?“ I asked her.
“Yes, Mr. Heartfield.“
Somehow, I wasn't sure if it was my Amelia or not since I never got to find out her family name. I didn't want to jump to conclusions, though.
“What are we meeting for?“
“She's the new CEO of the Jenkins law firm. She took over just yesterday.“
“Hmm. She must have an interest in the case for her to want to see me personally.“
