Amethyst stares at Demetrio in disbelief, blinking at him a few times as more tears well in her eyes, streaming down her face without her control. All she wanted for him was to acknowledge how he also hurt her, how he couldn't been more honest with her, and maybe then could they have been able to save their relationship... "I won't play innocent here. Things started to become rocky between us, and I shouldn't have handled it better. I should've just been honest with you about how I was feeling." Demetrio explains, but he can not ignore the rage coursing within him. If he had stayed with her, would she have told him the truth? "I'm sorry too Demetrio... please... please forgive me..." Amethyst begs him attempting to take a step forward, eager to reach out to him but Demetrio stays perfectly still, watching her as if he is completely void of emotion. "I need help... I need to get better..." Amethyst admits not wanting her life to be lost to the drugs or blame it for the way she's been behaving. She doesn't want Demetrio to look at her the way he is staring at her right now. "I know... I'll help you okay?" Demetrio lets out and Amethyst continues to sob before she shakes her head and runs up to Demetrio, hugging him tightly as her body continues to tremble against him Demetrio doesn't protest, neither does he move a muscle. Instead, he remains still and shuts his eyes slowly, allowing his anger to simmer down. Then, he sighs softly and slowly embraces Amethyst, carefully placing a hand on the back of her head as he holds onto her. Amethyst gasps as she feels Demetrio embrace her, feeling herself melt into his arms further as she allows herself to fall apart completely. Demetrio doesn't speak as she continues to respond and instead simply allows her to get all her emotions out. After a few moments, Amethyst finally pulls away from Demetrio, staring up at him with a broken gaze, tears still freely falling from her eyes. If this was a few months ago, Demetrio would already be feeling his heart fluttering as he stares down at her. But right now? He feels nothing but sympathy for her... no affection, nothing of what he used to feel... Amethyst feels completely vulnerable and it's a surprise that she's still able to considering everything they've been through. She, unfortunately, isn't over him, she never has been... so being this close to him, being in his arms again, sends her mind stirring out of her control. Before Demetrio react, Amethyst grabs the back of his neck and pulls him down onto her lips sharply, kissing him needingly. But this only lands for a second, as Demetrio, who is shocked by her swift actions quickly grabs her hands and pulls them away from him, stepping back from her and staring down at her with a frustrated frown. "Amethyst... what are you doing?" Demetrio's voice is strained, his brow furrowing as he shakes his head at her. His grip tightens slightly around her wrists as he keeps her at arm's length, his eyes searching hers for some kind of explanation. Her face is flushed, embarrassment flooding her features as tears threaten to spill again. She can't bear to meet his gaze. "I'm sorry... I-I... I'm sorry..." Amethyst stammers, her voice barely a whisper. The weight of her actions bears down on her, and her heart races with shame. She doesn’t even know why she did it—why she thought trying to kiss him would fix anything. It only makes everything worse... Demetrio huffs, a heavy breath escaping his lips as he finally lets go of her wrists. He steps back, creating distance between them, but his expression is unreadable. Discomfort flickers across his face, though he tries to mask it with a neutral facade. "I have to get going," he says suddenly, his tone clipped and firm. He avoids looking directly at her now, his discomfort evident in the way he shifts his weight and glances toward the door. Being alone with her feels suffocating. Everything she's told him, everything she's done—it weighs on him like a leaden anchor. He doesn’t know what to think anymore, but one thing is certain: he needs space... "Demetrio, wait... please..." Amethyst’s voice cracks as she reaches for him, her hand falling limp mid-air when he doesn’t stop. Her tears fall freely now as she wipes her face with trembling fingers, struggling to gather herself. She takes a shaky step toward him, desperate to make things right, but his cold demeanour stops her in her tracks. The look in his eyes tells her that no words she says now will change how he feels. Maybe it’s already too late... She swallows hard, her voice trembling as she forces the words out. "T-thank you for speaking with me..." Her eyes dart to the floor, unable to face him any longer. Her gaze shifts aimlessly around the room, as though searching for something to ground her, but all she feels is the crushing weight of regret. Demetrio pauses for a moment, glancing at her one last time before giving a curt nod. Without another word, he turns and steps out of the room, closing the door softly behind him. Outside, he leans against the wall, his hands pressed to his face. His mind races, replaying her words, her tears, her actions. He knows he’s not blameless in all of this, but the sting of her betrayal is too fresh, too raw. Inside the room, Amethyst crumples to the floor, her sobs breaking the silence. Alone with her guilt and shame, she can only wonder how things got so broken... and whether they can ever be whole again... She begins to think of whether or not it was a mistake coming back here, but those thoughts are soon replaced. She knows she needed to make things right with the Delassaros... she just didn't expect it to be this painful...
