| 12 | High-speed chase.

Everyone is frozen as they stare at the man with shock. But quickly, that shock turns to anger, then action.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry...-" The man tries to plead for his life, but in only a few moments, Cartelli and Oro let go of him, giving him the opportunity to raise his arms up in surrender.
But that won't be enough to save him.
Luca pulls out his handgun and focuses right on him, anyone d once Cartelli and Oro are out of the way, Luca points at the man's forehead, and fires.
A bullseye.
The man's head shoots back as blood splatters on the wall behind him, his legs crumbling before the rest of his body even realises what's happening.
"Check all the exits now!" one of the men shouts to the rest of his team, having the message over the comms.
Her brothers are still somewhere on the property.
They rush out of the room and head outside, now searching for anywhere they can possibly find an exit. Emeliana runs faster than anyone else can catch up, hoping to be the one to find her brothers first.
"Emeliana! Slow down!" Luca calls for her once he sees how frantic his partner is being. But unfortunately, for him, Emeliana does pay him any mind and continues to run around the house, hoping to see an opening.
And thankfully her instincts are correct and lead her somewhere.
Out of an opening in the ground, she notices a black van driving out slowly with a few armed men standing guard and making sure no one comes close to them. And unfortunately, they take notice of Emeliana.
"Hey!" One of them shouts once they notice her and immediately points their guns in her direction. Her eyes widen in shock as she realises that they are only seconds from killing her. She dives to her left without thinking and scrambles to a nearby car for safety, crouching behind the car as they continue firing at her, the bullets penetrating the exterior of the car as she keeps her arms over her head to shield herself from the shattering windows.
"LUCA!!" She yells at the top of her voice, not being able to see anything through the small pieces of flying glass.
Luca who is following after Emeliana hears the sound of gunfire and peers around the counter of the house, immediately seeing that Emeliana is in danger. His eyes widen before his focus shifts to the source of the gunfire, noticing the men with automated weapons keep firing at Emeliana. Grasping his assault rifle in his hands, Luca steps out of the corner and begins firing at Emeliana's assailants, just as Cartelli and Oro peer out of the corner as well and offer him some backup.
The men firing at Emeliana are soon hit win raining gunfire, piercing their bodies multiple times and killing them before they even fall to the ground. Once Emeliana hears the gunfire stop, she takes her arms over her carefully as glass falls off the top of her head, her hair and her clothes.
"Emeliana!" Luca shouts as he rushes over to her, fearing for her safety, especially after being the target of so much gunfire.
"Get the cars!" Luca then orders, turning back to whoever is behind him before he continues making his way over to Emeliama. Oro wastes no time and sprints over to where he had parked the car. He climbs inside and starts the engine with lightning speed, honking the horn loudly to let the rest of the men know that it's time for them to leave.
Meanwhile, Luca finally reaches Emeliana and begins examining her, watching her shake off her clothes as tiny pieces of glass fall to the ground.
"I'm okay I'm okay... but I that van has them. They came out of that opening over there. That must be the basement." Emeliana rushes out just as they hear the sound of an engine revving. They soon turn their heads and watch as a vehicle swerves around the corner, the car they arrived in, as well as the one filled with the rest of the men.
One of the cars comes to a screeching halt right beside Emeliana and Luca while the other one races forward in an attempt to catch the fleeing van.
"Get in!" Cartelli shouts out of the open window and Luca and Emeliana both glance at each other once before wasting time and opening the door, climbing into the car.
Oro steps and the gas, causing them to lurch backwards and the car rushes forward in a desperate attempt to catch up to their companions.
"Hurry Oro, please!" Emeliana shouts now beginning to panic as she fears losing the vehicle in a high-speed chase.
"I'm on it boss..." Oro answers with determination in his voice, his focus on nothing on the road in front of him as he carefully grips the steering wheel. He heads straight to the opening where the two cars just can come out of, accelerating at the fastest speed the car will allow. Eventually, he is able to catch up to the other two cars, the two of them driving down a wide open an road, thankfully with no other cars around them.
"We need to try and stop them without hurting the boys, if they're in there..." Emeliana says desperately, her eyebrows creased as her heart thumps with adrenaline and fear.
“Around the car and try to get it to slow down,” Cartelli advises Oro and Oro nods in understanding, not being able to say much since his focus is still on trying to catch up to the they are chasing. Oro does as Cartelli has suggested and drives up beside the vehicle, moving at dangerously high speeds. They all turn to the side where the vehicle is to try and see if the boys are inside, winding down their windows completely to get a better look. But it seems like their windows are tinted completely, so they need to come up with something fast, because, from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like the other car plans on slowing down any time soon…
