The Mafia’s Endgame

| 16 | Verdict.

Everyone is completely shocked after hearing what Emeliana has just told Amethyst. They all remain silent, glancing between the two girls as they continue to stare at each other.

Emeliana is actually... grateful…

“Let’s head back inside…” Emeliana then informs everyone, being the first to walk away, leaving everyone stunned by her response. Emeliana has every right to want Amethyst killed, but Amethyst was able to do what she promised and helped them get the Delassaro boys back in one piece. Now the question is what are they going to do with her...

After Emeliana leaves, Luca looks at Amethyst curiously, knowing it's not his place to say anything, and so he will leave the decisions to Emeliana. Oro and the rest of the men follow soon after Luca, all of them staring at Amethyst distastefully, since they are all aware of the role Amethyst played in the deaths of the men in their family, including Caesaro. Cartelli, Demetrio and June are the last ones to leave, each of them staring at Amethyst, Cartelli having the most hatred in his eyes, considering he blames Amethyst for being directly involved in his brother's death. Cartelli then scoffs lightly and decides to walk away, leaving Amethyst feeling guilty about what she did and how she helped Celestia escape...

June then glances at Demetrio once she sees how long he has been looking at Amethyst, and it makes her frown to herself as she tries to figure out what could possibly be going through his head. Does she have a reason to be worried now? June brushes off the thought and decides to walk away first, soon grabbing Demetrio's attention and making him follow after her, sighing to himself as he heads into the house with June.

Amethyst didn't know what to expect when waiting for them to return to the Delassaro Manor, and all she's happy about is the fact that they haven't killed her... yet...

Amethyst then sucks in a deep breath to try and get herself to relax, and when she is ready, she finally begins to walk forward and make her way into the mansion, where she would find all of them waiting for her in the living room.

Her eyes travel to Emeliana, finding her standing at the center of the group of people gathered, having her arms crossed and a cold expression resting on her features.

“How were you certain that they were going to be there, Amethyst?” Emeliana gets straight into it, wanting to know every possible detail of Amethyst knowing where her brothers would be.

“Like I told you before… I overheard Aurelio talking about the location of the boys and today…” Amethyst answers and even though it's the truth, she still feels nervous having to explain it to them...

“Today, I… turned on him. I pulled a gun on him and Celestia and forced them to give me information on the Delassaro boys. Then I took their phones as well as Celestia’s car and drove straight here..." Amethyst explains further and Demetrio seems to notice how tense she becomes at the mention of Celestia and Aurelio. It makes him squint his eyes at her right before crossing his arms and being sure to pay even more attention to her. There's something she is not telling him.

“Celestia was there as well...” Cartelli is the one to speak up just as Amethyst turns to face him, slightly hesitant to answer Cartelli considering how much Cartelli already hates her.

“I found her, with… Aurelio, when I got back to the house…” Amethyst explains, and she still feels like she's been taken by a fool by Aurelio, and it's been like that from the start. Amethyst struggles to hide the pain in her voice and on her face, and it's a dead giveaway to Demetrio, being enough to tell him that something did happen between Amethyst and Aurelio for her to be this upset.

“They might come after us, especially now that word has possibly reached Bonavelli about you taking your brothers back.” Demetrio speaks up, slowly tearing his eyes away from Emeliana and instead focusing on more important things than Amethyst's new crush.

“Let them come.” Emeliana answers swiftly, having nothing to fear anymore now that she has her brothers. Now, she can be as ruthless as she wants with Bonavelli. Emeliana then takes a few steps towards Amethyst, her arms swinging casually at her sides as she approaches her. She finally reaches Amethyst and stares her down from head to toe, taking in a deep breath as she figures out what to finally do with Amethyst.

As Amethyst stares back at Emeliana she wishes she would've done things differently, and she didn't let things get to this point. She just hopes that it won't cost her her life...

“Thank you for helping us, Amethyst…” Emeliana lets out, her expression softening up despite her tense demeanour. Emeliana is completely unrecognisable these days and Amethyst has good reason to fear her former friend...

“But don’t expect this to make everything right between us,” Emeliana informs Amethyst and still, Amethyst isn't sure if she will live or die...

“You said a lot of things to us, because of you and Celestia, Caesaro and a few others are dead. That's something neither of us will ever forget, or forgive." Emeliana then says before she finally steps away from Amethyst, leaving her heart to thump harshly as she fears what Emeliana is going to do or say next.

"But, we won't kill you." Emeliana finally informs Amethyst, making Amethyst let out a deep breath, gasping slightly as she feels tears well in her eyes.

"Thank you...-" Amethyst tries to show her gratitude, but it seems like Emeliana is not at all concerned, and instead, she continues to walk away from her.

"You can stay here this afternoon until we figure out what to do with you," Emeliana informs her just as she continues to walk away, leaving the room completely just as her people eventually disperse after her, all of them keep a mindful eye on Amethyst before they eventually leave.

This time, Amethyst is left standing completely alone, contemplating how Emeliana just spared her life when she could've opted not to. However, all Amethyst can wonder now is if she will really be safe at the Delassaro Manor, because from the way she sees it, she may have just traded one enemy for another.
