There's always one thing you are running away from. It may be anything and it just doesn't leave you. And looks like Randhir is going to be that thing for me. I mean he's everywhere now. Jeez it's like I can't catch a break today.
The shutting of the door broke my train of my thoughts. I focused my attention towards him as he walked towards the table. There was something about him that really would draw everyone's attention. Everyone but me.
The way he walks like he owns everything is annoying to me. It's like he holds power and aura. It's very strong and powerful.
As my eyes were focused on his, his were on mine. I tried to look away but he held my gaze.
"Morning Randhir. Good to see you" Sam smiled while getting up from his seat. Moving away he inched towards Randhir and hugged him.
Randhir not expecting the hug chuckled awkwardly while patting him on his back.
"Yeah. Good to be here." He said as he looked straight in to my eyes.
"So how was your flight?! Did you have breakfast? Do you want to go grab a bite?!"
"Sam" I whispered looking at him. He looked so overexcited that I'm sure it was making Randhir uncomfortable.
Hearing my whisper both heads snapped at me.
"Oh I forgot to introduce. Randhir this is our company secretary Miss Sanyukta. She's very talented. Saves our assets and asses." Sam laughed and then turned towards me and gave me a sheepish smile. Randhir was tight lipped and only gave a nod. What an arrogant ass! As if something dawned upon him he looked towards Sam.
"Hi Miss Sanyukta. Is she the one you were telling me about last time Samuel?" Randhir forwarded his hand towards me.
"Please to meet you Mr Randhir." I smiled shaking his hand, behaving as if I was meeting him for the first time.
"Si. She's the one."
"Oh I've heard a lot of things about you then Miss Sanyukta." He loosened his hand from the grip and pulled back. I instantly missed the warmth of his palms. His deep voice gave chills down my spine. The way my name rolled through his lips made my throat a bit parched.
"Huh good things I hope." I chuckled nervously while looking at Sam.
"Yeah. Of course." He cleared his throat. Just as I was about to talk his phone started ringing.
I rolled my eyes as the boring ringtone started playing. It was the dialer tone. I mean I know businessman are supposed to be formal and all that but dialer tone as ringtone is pushing too far.
"Sorry. Excuse me. I need to take this" Randhir said walking few steps away while clutching his mobile phone like his life depended on it.
Maybe it was Rihanna. Maybe she was calling to enquire about his work environment. Was she that in love with him? Maybe that's why he was so hurriedly moving to answer the call. Guess he does love her.
Of course he does. That's why he's getting married, i***t!
I agreed with my subconscious. Well it was true. And I really need to stop thinking about him. I mean he moved on.
"Sanyukta" Sam whispered while he walked towards me.
"What?"
"What do you think? He's good, innit?"
"How can I judge after knowing him for few minutes? Give me some time" I said sighing dramatically.
"Yeah how much time do you need highness? A decade? I'm not asking you to marry him. Geez" Sam rolled his eyes.
Of course Sam I can't marry him. He's marrying my sister. My perfect sister who everyone adores and cannot do wrong. Ugh! What is wrong with me?
"He's okay I guess...."
"Sorry guys. I had to take that call." Randhir apologised, his lips pulled in a embarrassed smile.
"No problem mate. Trouble in paradise? Fiancée problems?" Sam teasingly asked, waggling his eyebrows. How does he do that?! I stifled a groan.
Sam is what you call.... Chatty. He loves to be involved in others matters. And he is too much of a extrovert.
"No." Randhir yelled shaking his head, looking at me startling me and Sam.
"I mean no. It was my assistant."
"Oh. Anyways Sanyukta will show you your office." My eyes widened at Sam's ridiculous statement. What? Me alone with Randhir!
"Sam. Can I talk to you for a second?" I said as softly as I could. Only if Sam knew the reason I was avoiding Randhir.
"Sure. Excuse me Randhir" Sam politely said while rushing towards me.
"What is it?" Sam whispered more like shouted.
"I cannot do that. What about Mary? She's your assistant. It's her job."
"Are you serious? Mary's a wreck right now. I cannot ask her and besides I don't want to scare Randhir on his first day." Sam widened his eyes at the thought of Mary showing Randhir his office. Well the thought was surely scary. I mean it's not like she's scary but she's a bit... weird and she really doesn't handle formal settings well.
"Fine but you owe me so much." I smirked.
He huffed while nodding his head. "Now go"
"By the way which cabin is he getting?"
"Patricia's. It's unlocked."
"What? Why? I mean you know that's like the awesome cabin of this office and he's getting it. It's so not fair."
Patricia was the big fish. She retired four months ago and that cabin was kept empty after her. It's like the shrine of this place. She was Sam's aunt. Her cabin was literally in centre of the entire office with glass doors and soundproof walls. The best part was the window. There was a huge window just behind the chair which showed the best side of the city. And that too without the sound. How cool is that! Also because she was boss wife and President she got to keep the mini fridge in her office. And a huge LED.
"Everyone's excited to meet you so I told them that we'll have a lunch together. Is it fine by you?" Sam asked turning towards Randhir who looked a bit angry now. Atleast that's what his frowned face and his tight pursed lip indicated.
"Sure."
"Okay Mr Randhir you can follow me." I said walking ahead of him.
"She's a bit bossy get used to it." I could hear Sam's faint voice as I walked out of his cabin.
I could hear loud footsteps behind me but I did not stop or slowed down. I did not want him to keep up with me. Guess he was getting that cause he was walking behind me. Not like he couldn't overtake me. It was piece of cake for him.
Walking few more steps I came to a halt. I sighed noticing that everything was cleaned and rearranged. It did not look like Patricia's cabin anymore.
"Here's your cabin." I stood aside waiting for him to get inside. I did not even meet his eyes. All while my eyes were focused on the painting hung on the wall. He sighed and walked inside. As soon as he passed me I was hit by the strong smell of vanilla. He still used Tom Ford. Wow! Guess that's one thing he didn't change.
"Sanyukta come inside." A shiver rolled down my spine. It was first time he was addressing me. It was first time in so many years. My breath hitched the way my name rolled off his mouth.
"I don't think so. I'll go now. Bye" I answered in a sassy tone.
I turned around ready to walk outside but soon his hands clutched my wrist. My steps halted as the warmth of his touch engulfed my body. I was feeling heat spread through me. Damn! It must be the weather.
"Randhir unhand me." My protest sounded weak even to my own ears. Instead of leaving me he pulled my hand and shut the door with a slight thud.
"Unhand me you, brute" I shouted getting angry as his grip on my hand tightened.
"What was that? Huh? Is something going on between you and Sam?" He asked his voice angry. I finally raised my head and looked at him. His eyebrows were furrowed while his lips pinched tight.
"The f**k do you care? It's none of your business anyway. Go get married. " I yelled while slapping his chest. How dare he even ask such question? He has no f*****g right.
"Don't make me angry Sanyukta. Is there something going on between you two? Yes or no?" He snarled.
"I'm not f*****g scared of you. And I won't answer you. Now get away from me." I hit his chest once again trying to break free while he was standing a inch away from me.
That's when I noticed our position. He was standing too close to me. He looked into my eyes, like a predator does. His gaze was lingering, trying to study my features. His breathing sped up like he was trying to control his emotions.
"Baby" He sighed moving a bit more. He leaned into me and his arm wrapped around my waist. My pulse rose while my breath quickened. The closeness was killing me. I couldn't keep my eyes away from his face. His bloody distracting face.
My insides trembled with desire. His cologne was driving me crazy with desire while his warmth was tingling something inside me. It reminded the times we used to be together. The times I was always in his arms.
I still remember the first time he had caught my wrist, the first time he kissed me. He kissed me like a thirsty man. Like a man getting everything he asked for. He held me like I was a porcelain doll. It was soft and passionate. My lips still tingled as his left mine. My fingers were still clutching his shirt even tho he parted.
Would it still feel the same? Will my lips tremble and tingle even after he kiss me? Does his lips still taste the same? All those questions were driving me crazy and his intense stare wasn't helping either. He was studying my face like a painter does, like a sculptor does. His gaze was unwavering. Almost piercing.
"Kiss me, ron" As soon as those words slipped out of my mouth his lips met mine. I sighed. It felt like coming home.
His lips were so soft, so lush as his lips moulded against mine. My toes curled as held my cheeks in his hands. He teasingly licked my lips as if testing waters. As soon as I bit his lips he groaned and pulled me closer as if that was even possible. We were so close that even air couldn't pass between us. He tastes of coffee and mint, something I loved. As he licked my mouth I let out a soft moan. My arms that were resting at the side wrapped around his neck. He made a guttural sound and his one hand left my cheek. I shivered as his right hand traced the side of my body. Resting his hand on my buttocks he raised my right thigh and wrapped it around his waist.
A shameless moan left my mouth as our pelvis lined up and his hard on was pressing against my stomach. Like a man driven with lust he let his fingers in my hair and tilted my head all while pressing soft small kisses.
Breathless I pulled back and closed my eyes. As if the cold water was poured upon me I realised the position we were in. Rihanna's face flashed before my eyes. Guilt overwhelmed me. What did I do? I kissed a soon to be married man. I sinned and not only that he's my sister's fiancee. Like how can I do this to Rihanna?
She would be so heartbroken to know that her own sister betrayed her like this. Realising that I was still in his arms. I untangled myself from him.
He frowned looking at me. I arranged my suit jacket which was slipping off. Fixing the jacket I looked at him. I asked him to kiss me. Why couldn't I control myself? What is this hold? I need to stay away from him. I cannot ruin Rihanna's life.
"I'm sorry. This won't happen again." I apologise meeting his eyes. His face crumbled but I didn't give in instead moved away from him. He shook his head ready to talk but before he could I interrupted, "I need to go."
I walked out of this cabin before he could say something. God forbid this time I let him have his way! I'm way too weak for him. I need to mend that.
I could hear his faint voice calling me back but I ignored it and walked ahead. This cannot happen again. Never again.
