Chapter 4: Meeting the knight

I feeling proud saving this trash knight's life. Now I can prove that I can be kind to any kind of person in this world. He is trash because he made that cute Sophia cry earlier and I don’t like a man like him. I’m even surprised to see him alive after directly receiving such a powerful attack.
“An Elf?"
“That’s right I’m an elf.”
I replied.
I’m still in the little elf category.
I save this man’s life. I guess, he is thinking of thanking me by kneeling in front of me. Saying ‘Thank you very much, I owe you my life’. Since he is from outside I can just order him to bring me to the outside world. Saving this man’s life is not that bad after all.
That is what I thought.
He pointed his sword toward my head with his daunting eyes.
“Is this how people in this world show their gratitude?”
I asked.
“Sword skill: “
What is happening? This can’t be right. Why his attacking me? What did I do to him?
Stone edge.
A portion of rock appeared below Retto’s feet and lost his balance. The skill was canceled and I put myself in distance from him.
“You’re really rude aren’t you.”
“Elf is said to be a disciple of darkness. There’s no way I will let you live upon seeing you.”
Said Retto.
I see, This world saw elf as a demonic creature that needs to be exterminated.
That’s why he attempted to attack me earlier with his sword.
At this rate fighting is unavoidable.
I have to defeat this trash knight and get experience points.
This is a ‘do or die situation’.
Retto kick the ground and with his strength, he attacks me with his sword. Each attack contains an impact making a huge pit in the ground.
Next time, I’m going to pick those I will save.
I turn my eyes to him and cast magic.
“Wind s***h!”
He swings his sword and uses the same magic.
“Wind s***h!”
His wind s***h is more powerful and breaks my wind s***h easily.
No way! No way! No way! I can defeat this guy. I have to retreat.
“Create gust.”
I created a gust of wind and targeted the ground making a smokescreen made of dust.
After distracting him I turned my back and run away with my stealth skill activated.
I don’t want to die like this. Am I not going to die yet aren't I?
“You're never gonna escape.”
Retto started to chase me.
That trash knight agility must be high and his spatial awareness might be also high. He easily detected me even I run fast as I can.
That leaves me with no choice.
I run in a direction toward my home base.
Near my home base, countless traps are set to secure my safety. I will use that to stop this trash knight's life and turn him to my experience points.
Running as fast as I can and making some obstacles with earth magic. I succeed and saw my home from afar.
“My home is near.”
I said with a smiling face.
“Sword skill: Quick slice.”
He cut the earth obstacle and quickly run in my direction.
Without realizing it, he then stepped to my trap and activated it. He fell to the pitfall and started to get soaked by different poison fluid I placed in the pit. Those poisons came from the different poison monsters I defeated. I extracted their fluid and use their poison to kill another prey.
“I can’t move and I’m started to get dizzy.”
Said Retto.
This fluid can paralyze, confused, and poison.
Retto’s body has an open wound and poison fluid easily enters his body making the poison super effective to him right now. His magic barrier is destroyed in an earlier fight with the diamond dire wolf. His resistance is running low already.
At this rate, he will die.
Seeing Retto suffer. I save Retto using my earth magic.
I’m still a human in my previous life and killing a human like him might be going too far.
I treat his wounds with the herbs in the dungeon and let him rest to my base for a while.
“I want to learn healing magic.”
A window appeared asking:
[Do you want to learn healing magic? Yes or No]
I pressed yes.
[Skill points are deducted healing magic acquired.]
Time to test this newly learned skill on this trash knight.
“Heal!”
I cast healing magic to close his wounds.
This man is trash and a man that tried to kill me earlier. I never thought that I’m doing something like this. Some kindness is still inside my heart.
In my previous life. I’m just a lonely girl who doesn’t have many friends. I can say that I’m cute because I always got to ask for a date. Just like always, I turn them down. Because of that some girl has a grudge to me and started bullying me. Especially one of my classmates in my classroom. I can’t remember their name because I feel like it’s waste of time but I do know how they look like.
Being shy and introverted in school is very hard. I can’t even eat properly at lunch. There is a time I wish I have friends to talk to, but every time I tried to make friends. My image is already been tattered by someone else.
They always say. ‘I’m a b***h that will steal their boyfriend’ or ‘a goody two shoes.
I’m so pretty and behave, Is there a problem with that? I’m not the problem here, these people around me are the problem.
My depression is not ending in school alone, at the same time at home. My parents constantly fight because of work and money.
I don’t like this world and to escape my rotten reality.
I got into Anime, Novels, Manga, and Video games.
While I’m with these things. I feel like I’m being freed with these shackles of reality that constantly pulling me to suffer. I feel like I made heaven on earth.
Looking back in those times. I feel refresh knowing that I got reincarnated in another world. I literally escape my reality and got a fresh start in this world.
I admit that It’s hard, but at least I can say that this is better.
My appearance is very cute after all.
I put my palm to my cheeks and look at my reflection in the water.
“Urg... Where I am? Ouch, my back hurts.”
That trash knight woke up and turn his glance around my base and finally, he reaches my presence and make a fixed stare at me.
“You! That elf! I have to defeat you. Before you became a dark elf and became a calamity.”
He said.
Retto immediately tried to stand up but failed.
“That’s useless, I tied your whole body with spider silk and wild vines while you're asleep. I already know that you might attack me when you wake up.”
I said.
Retto see the wild vine tied to him with spider silk. I tried to struggle but give up after few moments.
I then pointed my sword covered with poison to Retto’s throat
“In this position, I have the advantage aren’t I? I can turn you to experience points and level up myself. I also take a peek at your stats and saw that your quite a strong knight yourself. If I’m able to kill you I will level up a ton and became powerful. Hahahahaha!”
I make a laugh and scared Retto at that moment.
No way I’m going to kill him, I’m just teasing him.
Also, look at that expression, I kinda understand how sadistic people feel now. Those eyes shaking in fear. A former arrogant knight is now shaking in fear to a little elf-like me.
I feel happy.
My sadistic self is been awaken.
Retto closes his eyes and take a deep breath. He came himself and look to the happening.
“If you wanted to kill me you will never gonna heal my wounds. Looks like I made a mistake. You save me two times already and I’m still daunting your actions. I’m sorry miss Elf for attacking you earlier and thank you for saving me in my battle with the diamond dire wolf.”
Retto said.
“Well, you can say thank you. I’m not some kind of evil. I accept your apology. But I have one thing to ask you?”
“I owe you my life I guess I have to answer. What is it?”
This is my chance to get the map to the outside world and escape this dangerous dungeon.
“Well, you see I’m lost inside this dungeon and I don’t know how to come back outside. Can I ask you the way to the outside world?”
I asked.
“Sorry, but I can’t do that. It’s a kingdom taboo, I can’t let a monster make a single step to our territory. I know that you have a kind heart, but doing that will give me troubles when I go back to the kingdom.”
He said.
I’m considered a monster in this world and monsters are naturally feared. That makes things more troublesome. If I can some kind of ability to have a normal form of a human. I would like to have that.
I plan to have a simple life outside and have afternoon tea while reading books. Looks like that dream is still far away. Also, I can’t find out why I’m reincarnated here if I never made it outside.
Things got complicated.
“I forgot my introduction, my name is Mayu, I’m a little elf. How about you?”
“I’m Retto knight of Grandellia.”
“then, Retto if you can’t tell me the way to the outside world can you teach me some sword skills? I have to survive in this dungeon.”
Retto looks to my eyes full of determination and nodded.
“Hoo-ray! Now let’s go and started our training.”
I said excitedly.
“Well, I would like to start but my body is still tied with this silk and wild vines.”
“Sorry! I will untie them immediately.”
I untie the vine and silk. Our training started and Retto teaches me some simple sword skill that is fit to my level.
