Ace's POV
Every night I've been in that club this week. Every damn night and I haven't seen anything of her. It's like she has vanished off the face of the Earth. I want to finish that dance we started before she disappeared. I ask the bar staff and I get the same answer 'She's busy and can't come down to speak to me.' And now I'm starting to get pissed, she turned me on and left me hanging and that just doesn't happen to me. If I want a girl, I will have her, not matter who she is.
Me and the guys walk into the canteen, after the week I've had I could do with a bit of fun and there sits my victim. Jane looks weak, I might just break her today, see how wound up she actually gets.
When I get over to her and the twins, she looks pathetic, her head's down on the table and she looks a right state. I stand directly behind her, looking down.
"You really do have problems don't you freak?"
"Just a psychopath stalker. No big deal." I can just about make out.
"Who'd want to stalk you?" I mean seriously, just look at you!
Her reaction shocks me, she snaps her head around to me, I have seriously pissed her off. My work here is complete!
"Oh you'll be f*****g surprised."
Her reaction shocked me, seeing the hatred in her eyes I involuntary take a step back, but remembering I'm the one in charge here I take two forward and get up in her face. no one talks to me like that!
"How dare you f*****g speak to me like that!"
She gets up slowly, standing and staring at me for a couple of seconds before, quick as a flash I feel a sharp sting come across my face, jerking my head to the side, she pinches my chin between her fingers and forces me to face her. She leans her face millimetres from mine so I'm staring into her hazel eyes and I can see the fury whirling in them.
"I will talk to you however I f*****g like. I know exactly who you are Ace, but you have no idea who I am. But don't worry your pretty little head about that, because you will, soon" What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Her friends pull her off me and they start to walk away, but I can't leave that behaviour towards me just slide, I had to scare her somehow, so I got my gun out. Ok, maybe not my best idea! Before I could even say anything, my gun goes flying across the floor, followed by a blue plate. I stand, glued to the spot, staring at my gun lying on the floor. I feel something sharp and metallic under my chin, forcing me to stare back into her eyes, this time though there was no anger, no fury, no nothing. They were emotionless, dead.
"Are you f*****g serious?" She said coldly.
"Who the hell are you?" I said confused. What the f**k is going on right now?
"I already told you, you'll find out soon enough."
"Is that a threat?"
"I don't know. Do you want it to be?" The way she's looking at me right now? Nope!
"Well then, stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. Got it?" I nod at her, she's some sort of psycho. And it's kinda turning me on! "Ok, we're all good then aren't we?" All of a sudden her whole demeanour changes, she's gone from ice queen to perky in five seconds flat. Who the hell is this girl?
She puts away her knife and waves to my gang with a friendly smile on her face.
"Bye bye boys" Real tough guys they are, they haven't even moved from their places!
I watch as she struts out of the room, her friends following after her. It takes me a few minutes to recover, before I turn to look at the gang, who are standing with their mouths still agape.
"Well, thanks for the help there!"
"That was so..." Ruben sighs. "Sexy."
"God give me strength." I growl. But I must admit I agree.
"Is it wrong that I've got a stiffy for Jane right now?" Ruben looked dazed.
"Yes. It f*****g is. What the f**k was all that s**t? How the hell does she know how to do that?" She has to have had some sort of training.
When we finally composed ourselves, we headed to business class. When I get into the class she has a smug smile on her face, her arms crossed over her chest, slouching back into her seat. When I finally sat down and worked up the courage to face her, I turned and leant my arm on her desk.
"Who are you?" She rolled her eyes at me.
"I've already told you Ace. Wait and you'll find out."
"But.."
"Uh...Uh...Uh" Her finger was wagging, telling me 'no'. "Patience is a virtue, sweet pea. You'll just have to find out."
"Well, we have a test for the first hour of the lesson, pass the sheets around." Collin announced.
"Wow, this morning's just full of surprises. Isn't it?" Her friend laughs. Isn't it just?!
I need to find out who this girl really is, to be that well trained, she has to be part of a gang, but she isn't part of ours and I highly doubt she is part of the snakes. They don't generally initiate girls and the ones they do, certainly don't look like Jane. They tend to employ girls who use their physical assets shall we say. And I can't imagine Jane would be willing to get her t**s out for any Tom, d**k or Harry.
She said I'll find out who she is soon, is that a threat? Is she part of a new gang that's going to try and take over our territory?
When I get out of the classroom, I round up all the guys and head to the gang house. Entering the house I head straight to the heavy mahogany door and knock, awaiting for approval to enter. I step into the wooden panelled room and stand in front of the mahogany desk where our leader is sitting.
"Yes Ace, what can I do for you?" He stares at the paperwork in his hand.
"There's this girl..."
"Leave Em alone." He cuts me off.
"No, it's not Em, it's this girl, Jane Walker. She went all psycho at college today. Pulled a knife on me and everything. I think we need to keep an eye on her." He put down the papers and looked up at me.
He had a glint in his eye, one I hadn't seen since I was about seven years old when I asked why Santa had the same handwriting as mummy.
"Jane Walker you say?" I nod silently. "I'll have a look into it." what the actual f**k? Does he not care?
"It's just she was saying we'll find out who she is soon. And I thought it's a weird thing to say."
"I said I'll handle Ace. Haven't you got somewhere else to be?" I nodded and turned to leave the room.
"Thanks Dad." I said before closing the heavy door behind me.
When I leave the office I get stopped by a skinny guy in the hallway. I recognise him as one of the older members, his long, white, greasy hair hangs low in a ponytail which makes it hard to forget his face, but I can't quite remember his name.
"Ace, jut so you know, Em's working the bar tonight. I heard you've got a thing for her." The way he smirked made him look like a creepy old man.
"Ok, thanks." I gave a half smile before walking into the common area.
The guys were sitting around, each had a bag of crisps in their hand, watching some sort of crime drama on TV. I took a seat on the brown leather sofa between Rodrigo and Gabriel, putting my crossed feet on the coffee table and my hands behind my head.
"She's at the club tonight, straight after the deal I'm heading there. Rodrigo, Gabriel you two bring the money back here after the deal." They both nodded in unison.
"Well, good luck with her, I've heard from quite a few people that she's a hard one to catch." Rodrigo looked at me.
"Well, none of the other guys were me. Were they now?"
We have been standing around for half an hour now and all I've seen is Miguel dab a little of the chalk like powder against his tongue. It was supposed to be a simple in and out transaction and as it is, I'm itching to get to the club to see the Goddess herself.
"Seems like some good shit." He did not just say that!
"Of course it's good f*****g s**t. Are you implying that we'd give you anything less than?" I shout.
"N...No Ace. It's just there's some dodgy stuff going around."
"Well, it's not ours. Where's the money?" He throws me over a bag and I start sorting through wads of fifty pound notes, bundled into thousands.
"We said fifty. There's only thirty here."
"Yeah, I could only get that much. So I thought I could get you the other twenty when I've sold it." I grabbed the bag with the coke in it out of the boot of his car.
"What do you think we are Miguel? A f*****g charity?" He shook his head at me. "So, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to take my drugs and the money and you are going to come back when you have forty thousand. We'll hold the coke for a week before we sell it on."
"But that is twenty over what we agreed."
"Call it compensation for wasting our time. You know how to contact us." I walked away.
Opening the car door, I threw the two bags at Gabriel, who was sitting in the backseat of the car and hopped in.
"Havana's?" Rodrigo asked as he got into the car and I nodded.
We pulled up outside the club as Rodrigo dropped me and the twins off. I nodded at the bouncer and noticed the smirk on his face as I walked past him and into the club.
I started scanning the dancefloor and around the club for her, but couldn't see her. I heard Ruben call my name and turned to see him nodding in the direction of the bar, she looked up and I could see her eyes sparkling in the disco lights. I fought my way through the crowds and reached the bar just as the door to the back room was closing and she was nowhere to be seen.
"What can I get you?" The guy behind the bar asked.
"Is Em here?"
"She's just popped out back, not sure how long she's gonna be."
"It's alright, I'll wait."
"Suit yourself." He said with a smirk.
After what felt like an eternity she came back through the door carrying loads of mini bottles of water. She knelt down and started putting them into the fridge. The guy behind the bar leant into her ear, telling her something and I felt a bit of jealousy flare in my chest. She nodded and turned to face me with a smile meaning I could finally make out the garter tattoo on her thigh thanks to the skimpy little shorts she was wearing.
"What do you want?" She smiled.
"Can I get three Jack's."
She lined up three glasses and poured a shot into each of them.
"Actually, make them doubles." She smiled and poured more into each of the glasses. "I thought we were enjoying ourselves the other night. Then you left."
"I didn't leave, I was right here. In the club." She smiled and took the money I had laid down onto the bar.
"You know I've been trying to seek you out."
"So I hear." Where'd she hear that? She must have seen the confusion on my face.
"Ace, you've been asking all my staff about me." I could feel my face start to heat up.
"So you know my name?" Sounds like she's been doing some research on me too!
"Your friend shouted it across the club earlier." Oh. "Look, no offence, but it's a Friday night and I can't really stand around chatting all night. Why don't you come back Monday and we can talk then?"
"Promise you'll be here?"
"I promise I will be here on Monday."
"Ok, it's a date." I smiled.
And no one thought I stood a chance!
