Emilia's POV
The black and white tiled canteen was filled with the smell of cheap ready cooked meals. How can they even charge for this s**t? I sipped my coffee while Luis, Luisa and I waited for business class, that started in forty five minutes.
"You know he was asking about you last night." Luisa said.
I thought it would just be a bit of fun at first, but Ace had become obsessed, he'd been in the club every night for the last week. Every night, all night, even after the club had closed just in case Em turned up, which of course was me. I tried my damnedest to avoid him, every night I went in, I would be stuck in my office, watching the security cameras to see when the coast was clear. I'd had to get there right after college and wouldn't be able to leave until five every morning. He was like a crazed stalker. The boy has problems. I'd been living off coffee the last week, if I hadn't looked like the walking dead before, I sure as hell do now.
"And I'm dreading tonight. I've gotta work the bar." Luisa gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Yeah sorry, we can't get out of it, mum's called us for a family meal." Luis piped up.
"I know, I understand. I'm gonna have to face him sooner or later. May as well be sooner." I sighed.
I took a huge gulp of coffee just as Ace walked in. I put the coffee down and laid my head on the table, banging it slightly with a groan.
I could feel a presence behind me and groaned louder.
"You really do have problems don't you freak?" I heard Ace laugh out.
"Just a psychopath stalker. No big deal." I muffled a response to him. I really can't escape him.
"Who'd want to stalk you?" He said sounded disgusted. I will kill you! Slowly!! And then sleep for a month!
I whipped my head up and round, seeing red.
"Oh you'll be f*****g surprised." I spat through gritted teeth with narrow eyes.
He took a step back, surprised. Didn't expect that out of quiet little Jane did you? He stepped forward again, leaning down, into my face. Yep, it's decided, I am going to kill you!
"How dare you f*****g speak to me like that!" He spat out his words. I don't give a s**t, there's no way I'm standing for his bullshit! Only a week and he'll know who I am anyway.
I stood up and watched as his head was whipped to the side by the back of my hand. I grabbed him by the chin, turning his face to look at me. I expected his friends to step in and beat the s**t out of me, but by the look on their faces and the way they were stuck to the spot they were in shock. I put my face so close to his we were almost touching noses.
"I will talk to you however I f*****g like." I stared at him straight in the eyes. "I know exactly who you are Ace, but you have no idea who I am. But don't worry your pretty little head about that, because you will, soon" I sneered at him.
By that time Luisa and Luis were trying to drag me off him and when I pulled away I could see the nail marks in his chin, where I had hold of it so tightly.
I turned and began to walk away when I heard a mechanical click, one that usually gets me excited, when I'm the one causing it. Seriously? This guy is an absolute t**t. He wants a shootout in the middle of a college canteen? I noticed an empty plate on a deserted table. I picked it up slowly, watching as Luisa and Luis had their hands heading to get their Glocks from the holsters attached to their hips. I turned quickly, throwing the plate as if it were a boomerang, hitting the gun out of his hand, the gun clattering to the floor along with the plate. I took a slow walk back over to him, taking a knife out of a pocket on my combats and used it to lift his chin, so he was staring into my icy hazel eyes.
"Are you f*****g serious?" I said calmly. I could feel Luis and Luisa behind me.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked.
"I already told you, you'll find out soon enough."
"Is that a threat?" I sensed a slight fear in his voice.
"I don't know." I c****d my head to the side, my eyes still icy cold. "Do you want it to be?"
He shook his head in shock.
"Well then, stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. Got it?" He nodded his head frantically. I gave him a sweet smile. "Ok, we're all good then aren't we?" I said in a cheery voice, putting the knife back into my pocket.
I looked behind Ace, his friends stood deathly still, eyes popping out of their heads.
"Bye bye boys" I said even cheerier with a small wave, bouncing out of the room with Luis and Luisa trailing behind me.
"And that is why you have to keep your temper under control. You still have a week before we're back on the records."
"All they know is that I'm dangerous and scary. He's so thick, there's no way he'll cotton on to anything. Anyway at the moment he's too busy thinking with his c**k to worry about little old Jane." I hear Luisa sigh.
"We've got to sit through two hours with him now though."
"I know, it'll be fun." I turn and smile at her.
"I hate your ideas of fun." Luisa mumbled.
"Especially when we're outnumbered." Luis grumbled.
We walked into the baby blue painted classroom.
"Morning Collin, lovely morning isn't it?" He smiled at me and nodded. "Good morning Jane."
We walked to the back of the room and took our seats.
"I think you need to stay off the coffee, you're all over the place." Luisa muttered.
"It's his fault, I'm on it. He deserved everything I threw at him." I scowled as Ace walked through the door with his gang.
He raised his head, sheepishly looking at me. I smiled, crossed my arms and lounged back into the chair as they all took their seats. Ace turned to me, leaning against my table.
"Who are you?" I could hear the shock that still resided in his voice. I tutted and rolled my eyes.
"I've already told you Ace. Wait and you'll find out."
"But.."
"Uh...Uh...Uh" I wagged my finger at him. "Patience is a virtue, sweet pea. You'll just have to find out." He turned with a puzzled face.
"Well, we have a test for the first hour of the lesson, pass the sheets around." Collin announced.
"Wow, this morning's just full of surprises. Isn't it?" Luis joked.
I laughed as I saw Ace's jaw clench at Luis' comment. The rest of the lesson went on in peace, but as the coffee started to wear off, I couldn't help but think how incredibly stupid I had been, I had well and truly f****d up. But he bloody well deserved it!
After two buses and a ten minute walk I finally got to the club at three fifteen. Victor was already inside, with a glass of what I think was whiskey in front of them.
"Did you bring my car?" I asked Victor.
"I sure did, Cutie pie." He used the pet name he'd called me since I was little.
"Thank you Vic." I gave him a peck on the cheek.
"I heard you had a little run in with his highness today."
"Yeah just a little one." I smiled sweetly.
"Hmm." He hummed. "You never get into 'little' run ins. I remember when you were five, we had to wrestle a table knife out of your hand when you tried to gut Andres."
"Well, he stole my sweets." I said crossing my arms and stamping my foot like a five year old.
"Well, you may not have to worry about Ace tonight, I overheard a few of the older members of his gang saying that the younger kids have their first big deal tonight, so I think he'll be too busy to harass you tonight."
"Thank f**k for that!"
"Language young lady!" He laughed.
"Hey! I've had a bad day." I shrugged.
"That never usually stops you." I smiled at him.
"Well, I better go and get changed."
I keyed in the code to the door that led upstairs and climbed the stairs up to the first floor. I took off the sweaty wig from my head and grabbed my shampoo and a towel, heading towards the women's toilets, when in there I bent my head over the sink, my long hair falling into it and tried my hardest to wash the sweat and dirt of the day away with a plastic beaker. I can't believe my life has come to this. I towel dried my hair slightly and twisted my hair into the towel so it securely hung down my back from my head. I walked back to the office, getting my face wipes to remove the black make up and reapplying my chosen colours. I let my hair down, out of the towel and blow dried it slightly before bunching it up and fastening it into a high ponytail. I put on a pair of dangly diamond earrings and walked over to the draw that help a few outfits I had left here. Riffling through the draw, I decided on a pair of black fitted shorts and a tight silver crop top with some black wedges.
Heading down the stairs and into the bar I ran into Andres. He looked me up and down with a raised brow and smile.
"You look hot tonight." I rolled my eyes.
"I don't have to worry about you hitting on me now do I?"
"Hey!" He held his hands up in surrender. "You're practically my little sister. Never gonna happen!"
"Good." I laughed. "Anyway, the less I wear the more the guys will be at the bar, spending money."
We cleaned the bar from any sort of dust that may have accumulated overnight, put the floats into the tills and turned on the music and lighting. We were ready to go and I felt so relieved Ace wouldn't be in tonight. I had a night of peace, but I spoke too soon. Eleven thirty and I heard his name being shouted across the club, I looked up with wide eyes to see Rubin nodding in my direction with a smile and Ace pushing his way through the crowds at speed. Ah s**t! He's seen me!
"I'm in the store room, you serve him." I was through the door to the backroom before Andres could say a single word.
Ten minutes of standing in the backroom and I knew I would have to come out at some point. I grabbed an arm full of tonic waters and headed back through the door. Seeing Ace standing at the bar, looking at me hopefully, I crouched down and took my sweet time rotating the cold waters with the new ones.
"He says he only wants to be served by you." Andres leant into my ear.
"For f**k's sake." I muttered to myself.
I got up, standing straight and adjusted my top, pulling it down from the risen state it was in. I spun around and was met by Ace's smiling face. I could just wipe that smile off your face right now!
"What do you want?" I said through gritted teeth and a fake smile.
"Can I get three Jack's."
I grabbed three glasses, lining them along the bar and pouring a shot into each one.
"Actually, make them doubles." He said with a grin and a twinkle in his eye.
God give me strength!
