The Werewolf Next Door

(Tyler's POV)

I was in the office, kind of trying to make a choice, it was still two weeks before the next full moon, and I needed to claim, Angela, my wolf was getting too unpredictable and I would hate to have an other incident like with Natalia. I was just thinking when Joshua ran in and told me there were two kids here who were shaken up and needed to talk to us.

"Angie, she fell in the water, she saved us, from the bad men!"

"Wait, slowly down, where did she fall?"

"In the river!" they both shouted in despair, I called for four men the rest were to stay in the village, we ran toward the river, it was over flowing with the rain still coming down, we searched all along the river nobody saw her.

"Angela!" I called, the fear really starting to settle in my heart, as we looked and looked, until my wolf said.

"Do you feel that?"

"What?"

"The pull, she's pulling us to her." I sensed what he meant, and let it flow, soon I found her, she was covered under some branches, among rocks and stuff. As I reached her I moved all the branches off of her, she wasn't breathing, I started to do CPR, suddenly she lurched forward, coughing out the water, and gasping for air.

"You're okay, you're safe."

"The...kids.."

"They're okay." I told her, checking her, and I looked down.

"s**t!" she hissed as she tried to move.

"Hey, take it easy, your leg is broken, let's get you home."

She nodded and very carefully I got her on her feet and picked her up bridal style, she curled into my chest, not asleep but just relaxed. She felt so light in my arms, compared to last time, I held her. I mind linked everyone that I had found her, I asked Joshua to get Nora ready, we'd need to rebreak Angie's leg before it healed all the way. I glanced down at her every few seconds, and felt exactly what I had been missing with Natalia, and I hated myself for it, I was scared to death to lose Angela, with Natalia I was just worried, I had rushed into something, and had hurt her. If I had done that to Angela I would've died the night she left. Angela wasn't going anywhere, not this time.

Once at the house, I took her to the room where Nora was waiting, I held on to Angela as Nora told Joshua where to break,  Joshua looked at us, Angela just nodded, and Joshua quickly and with out hesitation snapped it. Angela screamed into my chest, as I held her tightly so she didn't move, and Nora set it right again, by the end poor Angela was shaking and sweating, Nora finished up and went to get Angela something to calm down.

I carried her to her room and placed her on the bed but she didn't want to let me go so I laid down next to her, she was calm as long as she didn't move for a while. Soon she dozed off and so I didn't wake her up, I slept with her.

A while later I woke up she was still asleep, curled up next to me, but Joshua was standing next to me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"It's seems we have a traitor among us."

I looked down at Angela, now worried for her safety, Mason had a man or woman knowing our every move. I've been so preoccupied with everything else I hadn't been paying attention.

"Any leads on who?"

"That's the thing, nobody knows. one of our men was found dead, the kids told me that they had been playing in puddles outside their house, when the boy was taken and the girl followed them, then they ran into Angela on the running path, the boy repeated everything he heard, even if he doesn't understand half of what was said."

Joshua told me what the boy had said, in my inside twist in anger and fear, Angela could've....

"Fast thinker she is."

"Good thing, but she's to easy a target, if we were mated I would've known what was going on."

Joshua just nodded and walked out, this has gone on too long. The choice was clear as day now, moon or no moon this was happening once she was up and walking again, I was going to mark her as mine.

(Angela's POV)

I kept going in and out of sleep, as the events with the blond guy kept coming and going to my mind. Finally I sat bolted up, as I felt the guy touch me in my dream only to wake up to an empty bed, Tyler had been here, I could smell him, that's why I had been sleeping well anymore. When he was here I felt safe, but when he left that feeling was gone. I looked at the time it was four in the morning. I curled up under my blankets again, with my face turned toward the wall, so I didn't make up shadows in my mind and dozed off when I heard the door open, I knew who it was, his energy was always like a warm hug, that washed over me, soon I felt him climb into bed with me, wrapping his arms around my stomach, and hugged me close to him, his warm body comforting me and pushing the reminding fear away from my mind letting me sleep again.

A few hours later, Jasmine walked in, again Tyler was gone, and with her help I got in the shower, and got cleaned up. While i was in the shower she took my sheets down to the washer, then came back to help me get dressed. My leg was better but adding on to the problem of blood loss now my body has burned up more energy in healing my leg, I wasn't at all up to par.

"I wish you hadn't taken the sheets."

"I'm gonna away later, you're not sleeping here anymore."

"What, then where am I going to be sleeping?"

"With Tyler."

A whole swarm of butterflies filled my stomach, at that news.

"Like...to..night?"

"Yeah, you seemed comfortable enough sleeping with him here, he wants to move you to his room."

"Jasmine, I don't think I'm ready for that yet." I said trying not to panic.

"Hey, what's wrong with you, you knew this was going to happen sooner or later?"

I took a few deep breaths and nodded she was right it's been two months and a couple weeks, and both she and Natalia had told me what it all meant, when Tyler announced it to the whole pack.

"Right..your right."

I hadn't convinced her, she dropped my clothes on the bed and sat down next to me.

"Okay, come on, what's wrong?"

I took a few deep breaths, they needed to know, I looked at the window the sun was still fighting to get past the clouds of rain.

"When I was attacked, I was a dancer at a club, nobody knew who I was or at least I thought they didn't, I started receiving: flowers, gifts, and letters."

"You had a stalker."

"Yeah, for a month he never showed his face to me, then one day we were doing like pre exams, for our beautician licenses, we get volunteers and I was giving this one guy a hair cut, when I got done he told me he enjoyed watching me dance, then walked out. I knew he was the one sending me things, then it happened so fast, one night I got done and was headed home, when he cornered me in an alley....He...he."

I was shaking, I had never told anyone this, and I wrapped the towel around me more, Jasmine understood and held my hand in hers.

"You were raped." she said for me, and I nodded as tears ran down my face.

"When i woke up, I was still there where he left me, I felt him bite me hard, I thought I was going to die, but he had turned me."

Jasmine had tears in her eyes too, and her hand squeezed my too.

"Angie, did you every tell anyone?"

"Who was I going to tell Jas, I had nobody."

"Oh, Angie, I'm so sorry you had to face this all alone."

"That's why I don't know what to do, I don't want to fail anyone, but I can't...not like that."

Jasmine hugged me and she understood, but I was scared shitless I wasn't ready to go that far, but I know that Tyler couldn't wait for me too long.

"Angie, he just wants you in his room, so you start feeling more comfortable around him, if you tell him you aren't ready then, he'd understand, and both of you can take it slow."

"It's just, something in me wants too, but then I have this in the back of my mind and I freeze."

"Well, maybe it's time to replace the bad memories with good ones, and slowly work your way up."

I nodded, I'm willing to try and hopefully finally get rid of this dark shadow that's hanging over me.

 I got dressed and helped Jasmine move my stuff to Tyler's room, which smelled almost sanitized.

"Did they do a deep clean in here or something?"

"Yeah, um... After he and Natalia broke up."

"Ah, got it."

We put some of my clothes in the clothes, but soon I was called off down stairs.

"Go I can do this."

"Thank you Jas."

I carefully went down stairs, and found Joshua, Tyler, and Colby in the entrance hall.

"Hey wasn't up?"

"We have visitors." said Joshua.

"Visitors, you mean an pack?"

"Or what's left of it." said Colby

I looked at Tyler, he actually looked frustrated a bit, but before I could ask what's wrong, the doors opened and in came Nelson and Jordan, closely followed by other men, ones I had no idea who they were, Tyler walked forward, I was about to do the same, but Joshua stopped me.

"Give them a chance to size each other up, then Tyler will introduce you, give a small nod do not shake hands with him, not this time."

I nodded and soon Tyler and the other man gave each other a hug and Tyler walked back a little Joshua gave me a small nudge and I walked gracefully forward.

"This is my mate, Angela."said Tyler, I didn't move to shake the mans hand, but he took my hand in his anyway. I felt Tyler and everyone else tense up.

"Mate, Tyler this woman barely smells of you."

"I just found her, Andrew, I'm in no rush."

"Hmm, when I found Michelle, we couldn't wait to be alone somewhere, to mark each other."

 I looked behind him and saw a beautiful graceful woman behind him.

Andrew, had light brown hair, green eyes, and lightly tan skin, his mate, with shiny, healthy straight red hair, and dark brown eyes, both standing at 5'7 to 6 feet tall, they could be models for magazines, they looked so beautiful. She just stared at me her eyes cold and emotionless, I slowly took back my hand and gave the polite nod.

"Shy little thing isn't she."

"Maybe she needs permission to speak, she looks submissive enough." said the woman, I glared at her, but just smiled.

"I'm Angela, it nice to meet you and welcome to OUR side of the world, hope you feel comfortable here."

"She speaks." said the woman walking up next to her mate, and wrapped a very possessive arm around his arm.

"There nothing I wanted to say that you didn't already know."

She gave me a look.

"Meaning?" she snarled.

"I might look submissive, but at least I don't look like I have a stick up my ass."

"You little..."

Tyler pulled me away from the others, and put me behind him.

"You are so not ready to get into a fight so stop making her mad!"

"She started it!"

He turned back to Andrew and they talked and laughed off the situation, I'm guessing he's use to his mate getting into fights, with other mates, Joshua told me to be good and to stay with Michelle while they went up to the office to talk for a moment, Andrew kissed his mate on the mouth telling her to play nice.

"I can't promise I will be nice to her." I said trying to control my anger.

"Try, you should get something to eat, you haven't eaten and need to get your energy up."

"What does..."

He looked at me, and I under stood what he meant, take her out with me, show her around town.

"Fine."

He kissed me softly in the corner of my mouth, and walked away up stairs. Joshua winked at me and followed.

I walked toward the door, and Nelson followed along with one of the other men.

"Can you get the truck, I'm going into town." I asked Nelson he nodded and left me with Jordan and the other man.Then I turned to look at Michelle.

"Would you like to join me for lunch, or are you watching your figure?"

"Shut up, I'm coming."

We got in the truck with her pack member and Nelson with me, and we headed to Brazer's, they had the best burgers in my opinion in town, we drove in silence, I took tell she was sizing me up.

"You're wolf aren't?'

"Yeah."

"How long?"

"Two years."

She seemed to deflate a little, her anger now down.

"Did Tyler turn you or..."

"No, it was unexpected."

She didn't seem to want to fight anymore.

"We heard about the other wolf the one that helped Tyler with all the chances in the pack, I was impressed she was able to do all that."

"Yeah, she was amazing."

"You seem to love her, she wasn't your lover was she?'

"No, she was my family."

Again she seemed hurt by my answer, but accepted it. We got to the bar and ordered our food and waited.

"So if Tyler just found you, while having the other one what's the deal?'"

I lend on my arms and looked at her.

"A few minutes you wanted to fight me now you want to get to know me?'

"That's my way to size you up, and from what I see you are a fighter, a quiet one, but a fighter none the less." she too then leans toward me, and in a low voice says," I don't have friends not real ones anyway, they all seem too busy trying to please me and to never have my feelings hurt, under penalty of death from Andrew, so he can't really do anything to an other Alpha's mate unless you killed me or something worse, but if you tell anyone I'll deny I ever said that."

Okay, I guess as some mates went they got really over protective.

"Natalia and he were friends, best friends, Tyler had hoped she was the one, but came to find out no, and they continued their friendship even after I got here."

"That's very big of you or very foolish, to keep the lover around."

I looked at her, I guess she knew things but I wasn't going to verify things for her, so I was sticking to my story.

"If they were or they weren't it's not my job to judge."

She seemed to like that answer, our food got to our table and we ate in silence, I ordered three burgers and ate all of it, I felt so good after that.
