Amelia sat there, in the car, wiping her face, no longer being able to see Alec. She saw him blow a kiss as well, she was almost pushed out of the vision. She had barely any time to try and save it, to hold onto him. She had her wild imagination going the second she felt her body return to her. It was weird to think of it like that for her, she got to the end of rope she had been holding onto and she lost it. She couldn't stop sobbing, she couldn't keep breathing, she could not get a second.... at all.
She was trying to calm herself, thinking that if she was calm it might be easier to force her mind back to the house, back to Alec.
Amelia didn't know anything about what was going on, and she was terrified about what she was going to find out, she was trying every 10 mile marker... she was trying to see what was going on, but as far as she could tell through her feelings, their connection, he was still alive.
Alec was alive and well as he waited and watched the blacked out vans surround his home. Watching his mate head out of town and far away from him, hurt. He had the urge to go after her, to protect her himself, to run until they were safe... but his mind said this was the way to go. Getting the information out into the world... making sure they had rules.
He saw the blurs, felt the hands at his neck, ready to rip it from his body as he was pulled back into his house, ready to talk and make some kind of deal.
"You're a brave man... Alec of the rebellion." Alec heard someone talk before seeing an elder he had met when making his coven over a 100 years ago.
"I have something you might like to hear about my mate."
"You have no mate." The challenged him right back and he turned his neck just slightly, showing off his mark from Amelia. "Must be a special mate for you to keep her hidden from the council for so long."
"We're newly mated. I found her just a few days ago. She is a seer, an oracle." He saw the shock in the mans eyes, his face was shocked, but then he started to smile... like it was good news. A relaxing moment overtook Alec's body as he assumed that they would be safe, they could all be safe.
"Age?"
"24." Alec knew they wouldn't be able to find her using just any magic, so when whispers started, and the elder he had known from before was excited. "I want to ensure she and I will be safe with the council if you let my family, my coven and those in it, are protected and left alone."
"My young man...you have no idea the praise you will get as we bring the released child back to her parents." Alec felt like the earth fell from under him. If she had parents still alive, if the council had them, they could track her using blood magic. The council didn't have to make a deal at all... and with that, Alec relaxed against the man who was still holding him.
The man intern relaxed and Alec pulled away, pushing the man back, getting to the end of the hallway, getting the window shattered and as soon as he hit the ground he got back up and started to run. He got to the tree line, he got to the middle of the woods, started to go left and then right, making sure to lose the man who were no doubt after him. He got to the safe haven for all those supernatural, a place even if the council was after you, they couldn't touch anyone.
Alec headed to the house, the home his mate would arrive at in a couple hours time. He hoped she would be ok, that she would understand why he left her to try, to fail in making a deal for everyone's safety even if it meant they would serve the council.
He wondered for the hour he waited for them to arrive if she had seen it all, if she had seen them talk, if she had heard that she had parents under the councils thumb... and if she hadn't, what he should tell her, about how they used the oracles like her for their benefit, how they will be found with blood magic.
He heard the cars, he heard his brother, and when he got tot he door, to let them all in, he saw his mate in Thatcher's arms sleeping. "She cried herself to sleep, she could not stop panicking."
"I will take her." Alec stepped up, taking his little mate from his brother and taking her inside to their room. He brushed hair out of her face, saw the swelling under her eyes from her crying and panicking as Thatch called it.
He gave her forehead a kiss and pulled away, going to the room he could only guess his family was waiting. The men in the room were all glowing eyes and hair sprouting. "We're safe here, my bargaining chip didn't go as planned." Alec told them and sighed before sitting back on the couch and rubbing over his face.
"What was your plan exactly?"
"Thatch..." Alec didn't really want to explain it, but as he looked at the others he realized they all wanted to know. "I planned on making a deal with the council. My mate is a young oracle, the Council collects them. I would love to say that we would be with you and work with them, but I was willing to be under their thumb as much as possible. I would have been away from you all with her, protecting her and being of use to them as long as they wanted."
"You would have been their prisoner. You would have left us all-"
"You would have been safe. All of you, I could warm you when they wanted to go after you, I could have been the inside man... I could have been there to stop them or-"
"You would have been locked away as they used your mate and been powerless to stop it." Thatcher cut off his brother, pissed that he thought it would be just that easy, like he would be trusted by the council to even hear anything. Especially their plans to attack all of them.
"Alec?" He heard his mate, he was up and in the doorway before anyone in the room could blink. "You're ok."
"I am.... did you see what happened?"
"No... but you're here. How long was I out?"
"Not that long... the council didn't accept my offer, they were actually happy to hear that they could find you, they apparently have been looking for you since you were a kid."
"How did they know about me? I didn't even know until-"
"They said they had your parents, I don't know the whole story-" Before Alec could finish his words he saw the whites of her eyes take over, and she sank down a bit until he caught her.
She was spaced out, her lips moving, but there wasn't anything coming out of her mouth. Alec got her to the bed and while he was waiting for her to come out of it, Amelia was ready to see what she needed, everything she ever needed to know about how she ended up in foster care. Her real parents, and why they gave her up.
She was going to get all her answers.
