Chapter 7

Chapter 7 The next day, I awoke at four o'clock in the morning. I also went to university early. I'm feeling more excited than usual, and I'm not sure why. I used to be afraid, but I don't feel that way anymore. I walked towards the field, and because I arrived early, almost no students had yet arrived. I sat in the shade of the tree, where Mocha had last taken me. "Hello there!" "Ah!" I screamed, clutching my chest. "Oh Catherine, it's as if you've seen a monster. I'm not going to cause you any harm," Mocha laughed sparingly at me. "I apologize for being disrespectful, but let me correct that: you truly are a monster," I said. She busted out laughing and her expression returned to seriousness. "You're right, but we're not hideous creatures. We're just vampires, you know," she responded and sat next to me. "What did you eat, and why are you feeling so energized today? As far as I recall, you were terrified of me yesterday," she inquired, her gaze fixed on me. "I'm not sure, but I don't have a choice if I flee this island. That was also explained to me by my aunt," I responded. I don't want to tell her the actual reason why I'd like to stay. But I'd like to stay here till I find the answer to my dreams. Even what occurred to me yesterday, the voice in the abyss I always hear. "Is that true? In that case, always apply your perfume before anyone notices you. The majority of us here are bloodthirsty. Because none of us have ever tasted the blood right through our victims." I swallowed when I heard that and hurriedly sprayed perfume on my body. "We now smell the same," Mocha stated with a smile after sniffing me. Moch rose up. "Catherine, hurry up." I stood up, grabbed my belongings, and followed her. When we reach the fifth floor. She turned around and gently grabbed both of my arms. "Never approach Jacob. He is quite intrigued and wants to learn more about you. Don't let him catch you since he already has an idea about your identity." I nodded and sprayed my perfume once more. I keep it in my pocket so I can easily get it when I need it. We both went inside to our classroom and sat at our respective tables. As we're sitting on our table. I noticed the glances they give me are terrifying. I'm nervous, but I need to be strong. WHILE we were talking about something, all of a sudden something blew in my ear. "Catherine..." he said, and I looked up. My classmates were preoccupied with their books, as was Mocha. I simply shrugged and returned my attention to the book that I was reading. "Hello and good morning." Someone spoke and greeted us. Mocha and I both raised our heads, but instead of paying attention to whoever greeted us, I returned to my reading. "What exactly do you want, Zairan Jacob?" Mocha inquired arrogantly. I paused and tightened my grip on my book. My knees were also trembling. My heart was hammering so loudly that I was almost deafening. I'm about to break out in a cold sweat. Do vampires perspire? They don't, as far as I know! "I just wanted to apologize to her," Jacob stated. I took one of Mocha's hands and turned it towards me. "Later!" she exclaimed as she yanked me up. We just walked out of class, and our teacher didn't seem to mind. She led me along a quiet corridor. Mocha snatched something from the bag she was carrying as well. My pupils dilated. She handed me a one blood pack. "He'll catch you if you don't drink now. He's not far behind," Mocha said in hushed tones. With shaky hands, I gulped hard and took it, beginning to open its lid. Oh my goodness! What I'm doing is making me want to cry and puke. "Come on!" Mocha said. Because of the adrenaline rush, I sipped it with my eyes closed and my eyes expanded slightly before turning to Mocha, who was all grins. "Does it taste good?" she inquired. I nodded and exclaimed. It's not blood; it's just a cold drink. She, on the other hand, duped me into thinking I was drinking blood. And because of the way it looks, I'm convinced it's blood. "He's gone," Mocha declared. "How did you find out?" I was perplexed. "Jacob is Class C, so I caught him easily. I did great in practice on sensing them," she responded. I agreed by nodding. Then I noticed how they speak; they appear to mimic the way a normal person communicates. "What exactly is this drink?" I inquired since I am still intrigued. "Grapes and berry jam," she said, smiling. I hugged her immediately. "I would have been dead for a long time if it hadn't been for you," I said truthfully. Mocha ruffled my hair and caressed my shoulder. "Of course, this is my first time meeting someone like you. Besides, I'm older than you, and you pique my interest in humanity." I paused for a moment. "How old are you?" “Twenty!” Mocha responded right away. I c****d my brow and rolled my eyes. I knew she was joking. She let out a small laugh. "Fine! Eight hundred and thirty-seven years old," she responded with a raised brow. What she said almost made my jaw drop. She chuckled at my outburst and dragged me back to our class. AFTER returning to Zoldic's mansion, I went directly to the secret garden, which no one knew about. The beauty of the garden really astounded me. I had no idea this garden was the one from my dream. I lay down on the lovely grass. During my half-hour break, the birds began chirping. I stood up and took a glance around. "It's too dangerous for you to be alone out here..." I gasped and was taken aback by what I saw. A man with a black jacket and faded black jeans appeared in front of my eyes. He was perched on a branch of a large tree, and I couldn't see his face since the hood of his jacket was covering it. I recoiled in terror. "Catherine," he called me. I was a little stunned. His voice was the same voice I used to hear. "You!?" I shook and steadily retreated. "Beginning today, Catherine. You will always be by my side." He said this as he approached me. I abruptly lost consciousness for unknown reasons. Even before I passed asleep, I felt his chilly lips gently brush against mine.
