Chapter 17 Some Superheros don't fly

CHRIS POV

"Chris wake up" I hear and I'd know that lovely voice anywhere it's Lisas. But I need to get my bearings a little before I open my eyes. So I fake I'm still asleep while I think over what I was doing before I fell asleep. That's right I was in Lisas parents front garden cuddled up with Lisa while she watched the stars and I watched her beautiful face finally look at peace after a stressful day. Oh how relieved I was to see her look content again. Damn did I fall asleep? I must of done. I wonder what time it is.

"Chris" Lisa says again as she gently pats my hand as of she is scared to wake me up.

"Hmm" I say as I cuddle her closer.

"Chris you fell asleep and it's half two in the morning. I'm finally feeling sleepy and I don't want to leave you here alone. Even though there's bodyguards all around I'd still not live with myself if I just walked inside and left you here. Come on you can sleep in a spare room if your to tired to drive home" Lisa says

"Please just lay with me for a few more minutes while I wake up. Then I promise I will go home" I say with my eyes closed still.

"Okay, but we can't stay here all night long" Lisa says as she rests her head against my arm again.

"I know, I will go home soon once I've woken up enough to drive. I promise, just stay cuddled up to me a little while longer. I promise I just want a cuddle for a few minutes" I say.

"Okay" Lisa says yawning and I suddenly feel bad as she sounds tired.

"Did you not sleep?" I ask.

"No, I was watching the stars and I decided to let you sleep a while. After all you missed sleep because of me at breakfast yesterday. It's the least I could do" lisa says.

"You should of woken me up sooner. That way you could of gone and gotten some sleep sooner. I told you not to worry about me I was fine. And I'd of been fine if you had woken me sooner" I say

"And I'd of been fine if you had woken me sooner yesterday morning as well" Lisa says.

"Using my own words against me" I say with a chuckle.

"Well it works both ways I'm afraid" Lisa says yawning again.

"Okay come on off you go to bed. Don't you worry about me anymore your tired" I say.

"Are you fully awake?" Lisa asks without moving.

"I'm getting there" Lisa says.

"Then stay still, I'm comfortable right now and your still waking up. Don't you know it's not safe to drive when half asleep?" Lisa says.

"Oh, I know trust me I've seen the horrific imagines of the bad results from sleepy drivers" I say.

"Then don't make me worry about you. Wake up then you can go home. Or if your that tired take a spare room here" Lisa says.

"Okay I will wake up more" I say.

"Good now, shh and stay still" Lisa says as she closes her eyes.

"Are you going to sleep?" I ask.

"No! I'm resting my eyes while you wake up" Lisa says and I can't help smiling. Weather she realises it or not. Which I don't think she does. When a woken says there just resting there eyes while comfortable there be asleep within a few minutes. It's facts. All men everywhere know this is code for I'm going to sleep. And I know Lisa doesn't do dating ect so I'm not sure if she realises this or not.

"Okay, but are you really resting your eyes or going to sleep?" I ask.

"Resting my eyes. I swear I will stay awake" Lisa says yawning again.

I gently place a lose strand of Lisas hair behind her ear. Lisa opens her eyes to look at me. "sorry" I say.

"Don't be" Lisa says closing her eyes again.

"Your going to fall asleep there. It's time to get up now. I will be fine getting home. I promise" I say.

"Okay" Lisa says sitting up and rubbing her eyes. I stand up first and hold my hands out to Lisa. She takes my hands as I help her stand up and get steady on her feet. I give Lisa the crutches and she hobbles to the door. I stay close by to make sure she doesn't fall down. When we reach the door Lisa looks at me.

"Goodnight Chris" she says.

"Goodnight Lisa" I say.

"Why are you just standing there?" Lisa asks looking confused.

"I'm making sure your safe indoors before I walk away why else?" I ask.

"Oh" Lisa says opening the door.

"About time" Ryan says standing next to luke.

"Your still awake?" Lisa asks

"You really thought we abandoned you? Jeez baby girl I told you I'd be right inside waiting incase you needed me. So here I am waiting" Ryan says.

"Yeah, and we are super proud that you didn't hollar! Look at the time. You did it see" Luke says

"Alright your embrassing me now. What happened to guiding me through this? Now your giving all the secrets away?" Lisa says

"I'm sorry" Ryan says as he hugs Lisa.

"It's okay you make it up to me by carrying me the the stairs" Lisa says yawning.

"Goodnight everyone" I say smiling. Lisa is just to cute. And I'm glad she has such a great family I think to myself.

"Good night Chris" luke and Ryan say at the same time.

"I will see you at 8am for breakfast. Sweet dreams" Lisa says yawning once more. With that I headed off to my car to go home and catch some more sleep. When I reached home I checked my phone as I layed Down in bed.

I then fell asleep after setting my alarm ready for the morning.

LISA'S POV

"Jade remember to stay close but not to close. After all we are in the hands of a police officer so we don't need to be over dramatic" I say.

"Don't worry I will be near by incase you need me. But I won't step on any toes. I saw the status last night and I can tell you need some privacy to work things out yourself. Now do you want me to take Emma in my far with me or not?" Jade says.

"She can choose herself. After all I'm not that mean. I know she missed you while you were away" I say.

"Okay. Well stop fretting and enjoy breakfast" Jade says

"Mummy is these shoes okay?" Emma says running in wearing her pink sparkly shoes

"If that's what you want to wear then it's fine by me" I say.

"Yay" Emma says as she runs over to hug me.

"Where is my hug? Didn't you miss me?" Jade says picking Emma up and swing her around before cuddling Emma.

"Of course I missed you" Emma says laughing.

"Now, when you go out do you want to go with mummy or me?" Jade asks Emma.

"Who are you going with mummy?" Emma asks.

"With Chris" I say.

"Then I don't know who to choose" Emma says

"How about with me on one car journey then jade the other car journey. Your forgetting we have to drive home as well" I say smiling at Emma.

"Mummy is right so who you going with first me or mummy?" Jade says

"Mummy" Emma says.

"Okay, in that case ask mummy if we can stop by the park on the way home" Jade says smiling at me.

"Okay, but only a few hours not all afternoon. I know what your both like" I say

"Yay" Emma shouts.

"Okay let's go get ready by the door. Chris is never late" I say standing up and I'm so glad I've got my shorts back today I don't have to worry about pulling down a dress all day. I waited on the chair outside with Emma and Jade for a few minutes before Chris pulled up. He looked good today. He was also wearing shorts. Beach looking shorts with a light green t-shirt. It actually suited him.

"Good morning" Chris says getting out of his car.

"Morning" Emma shouts as she runs over to Chris. I see Chris bend down to Emma's level and there talking pretty quietly that I can just make out what's being said.

"Chris mummy said I can drive with you on the way to breakfast. But I choose jade for on the way back. Will you still bring mummy home?" Emma asks

"Of course I will bring your mummy home" Chris says smiling at Emma.

"Chris mummy won't tell me where we are going for breakfast. Where are we going?" Emma says and I can't help smiling at Emma.

"Well it's a secret and I don't break secrets. Therefore your have to wait to be surpised. But I think your love it" Chris says.

"Okay, but I can keep a secret I'm really good at keeping secrets" Emma says

"Well I can't go breaking a secret I already have. But I can tell you a different secret. Would you like to know it?" Chris asks.

"Yes please" Emma says.

"I know mickey mouse. And if your extra good at keeping this secret for a few days then I can promise to have mickey mouse speak with you on the phone" Chris says.

"Really?" Emma asks surpised.

"Yeah, really. But remember it's top secret so you can't tell anyone. Well except mummy because you shouldn't keep secrets from your mummy but everyone else you can't tell" Chris says.

"Okay I will keep it a secret" Emma says.

"Okay let's get in the car Emma" I say standing up and Chris then locks eyes with me briefly before he goes and helps Emma quickly into the car. I start to hobble while I have my handbag and Emma's little rucksack on my back.

"Let me help. Give me the bags" Chris suddenly says.

"Oh, um well we are nearly there now. Just help me hop the last few steps" I say. Chris takes a crutch while helping support my weight at the same time. Then he helps me hop the last few steps to the car.

"You look lovely this morning" Chris says and I briefly stop hopping before continuing. "Thanks" I say.

"Are you looking forwards to breakfast?" Chris asks.

"Yes, what about you?" I ask as we reach the car door and Chris opens it for me.

"I was ready since you woke me up early hours this morning" Chris says.

"did you not sleep since?" I ask as I sit into the car.

"I did. But still I was ready beforehand" Chris says before closing the passenger door. I look at Emma and see she is already strapped into the car already to go I put my seat belt on as Chris sits in the car as well.

"Jade will be in the car behind. Don't worry she will give us space as well" I say.

"It's okay" Chris says smiling at me

"Chris do you have the frozen CD?" Emma ask.

"Um, no but I have the radio" Chris says turning it on.

"Emma. You know full well we don't listen to frozen in the car. You listen to it in your bedroom enough that the car I say no. So don't go putting Chris in a awkward situation" I say

"Okay sorry mummy" Emma says.

"Okay" I say.

"Lisa, after breakfast do you want to swing by the fire station with me to collect your daily gift?" Chris asks as he finishes doing his seat belt and starts the car up.

"Yeah, that sounds good to me" I say.

"Mum can I come as well" Emma says.

"If you want. But you have to tell Jade your changing plans with her" I say.

"Aww now I don't know what to do. See aunty jade or everyone at the fire station again" Emma says.

"Well you have until breakfast finishes to decide" Chris says.

"That's true sweetie. Take your time in choosing" I say.

RING RING RIN

I see Katy is ringing me.

"Hello" I say answering the phone.

"Girl you could of given me a heads up before that post last night. I only just see it. So your actually gonna go on a date and announcing it to the whole world before your closest friends?" Katy says.

"If you check the group chat your see I told everyone before me and Hahley exchanged a few dozen messages. Hell even Michelle and Summer where adding to them messages" I say

"Opps my bad. I was just kinda shocked. Like are you sure your ready for this?. I know we teased you a little and tryed to encourage it. But is it truely what you want to date Chris?" Katy asks.

"Yes. Now can we talk about this later. If you had read the messages in group chat you would know me and Emma are on our way to breakfast with Chris right now. And well as much as I love you because your my best friend I don't want to have this conversation right now. A because we'll Emma is around. And b well you do the damn maths"i say getting frustrated.

"Oh" Katy says

"Yeah oh! Now I will ring you later" I say.

"Okay, have fun. Are you feeling nervous? And where are you going I can always come hide in a corner for moral support" Katy says

"I don't need you to hide in a corner I will be fine. Don't forget I dropped kicked all your husbands to prove I could drop the amount of bodyguards I had. And I'm okay the only person making me feel nervous is you right now" I say

"yeah well you wasn't in a cast when you drop kicked our husbands however I still think it would be fun to repeat that once your leg is better of course. And I'm sorry if I'm making you nervous. Ring me later I want all the details" Katy says.

"Goodbye katy enjoy your day" I say then I hang up.

"So how many husbands did you drop kick?" Chris asks.

"Uh, you heard all of that?" I ask.

"Yes, sorry I found it amusing but I really want all the details on how you took down so many fully grown men" Chris says smiling.

"I will tell you when little ears are not around" I say.

"Deal" Chris says as he starts parking the car.

CHRIS POV

I know I shouldn't of listened to the phone call but I did. And I don't regret it. It was interesting to find out a few things. Like she wasn't nervous around me today. At least I pray that's true. And how she took out fully grown men so she could reduce bodyguards. Now that's some inspiring stuff right there. And I could tell that she is close to her friends it's good.

"Okay what would you like to eat?" I hear Lisa says to Emma.

"Waffles and ice cream" Emma says sounding really excited.

"Okay then" Lisa says as we stand in the cue to be served.

"I can get the food in if you want to get a seat" I say.

"No, I said this mornings breakfast is on me" Lisa say

"I know, I'm just worried your get tired on your feet" I say.

"I'm okay honestly" Lisa says

"Okay" I say

Once the food is ordered we find a table to sit at. I see Lisa is looking out the window while Emma is looking at her mummy. And in watching them both wondering who will break the silence first.

"Mummy, are you tired?" Emma says being the first one to break the silence

"No, why do you ask" Lisa says smiling at Emma.

"Because you only look out the window and go quiet when we eat out when your tired. But we just woke up so I don't know why your tired" Emma says confused.

"That will be mummy's bad foot fault. You see with broken bones they keep you awake during the night" I say

"Oh, I should of guessed that" Emma says.

"It's okay, mummy is okay" Lisa says hugging Emma.

"Here's your food" a oldish lady says bring over our plates.

"Thankyou" Emma squeal while Lisa says "Thanks" with a smile. "Thankyou" I say as well before the lady walks away.

"okay eat up Emma" Lisa says before she looks at me and smiles.

We talked about Disney films during breakfast as it was what Emma wanted to talk about. I learned I'm not clued up on my princesses. Lisa said she could always teach me if need be. But then Emma said she was the one who knew them better so it should he her who taught me all the princesses. So I'm now under training on which princess belongs to which movie. Emma even said we will have to watch all the movies one day so that I can remember them better which made Lisa and myself laugh.

Emma then decided she missed Jade to much and wanted to go spend some time with jade while me and Lisa stopped by the fire station. So here we are now saying goodbye to Emma and Jade. Lisa is stood on crutches telling Emma she must be a good girl when jade suddenly turns the music up really loud. Emma starts jumping up and down. "Quick out the car and help me Jade" Lisa says. Then they all start singing

Jade helps support Lisa as she also holds Emma's hand and they kinda dance and sing. I can't help smiling

"Maybe at home later. Right now you need to hurry get in the car. Remember to be good for Jade. I will see you later have fun" Lisa says and you can see the smile reaches her eyes as she speaks with Emma.

"Okay, let's go poppet before your mum falls down" Jade says picking Emma up.

"Quick kiss mummy" Emma says.

Jade leans Emma in to kiss Lisa and Emma quickly hugs Lisa as well before they finally get in the car.

"See you later. Remember ring if you need me" Jade says.

"I will be fine. Go have fun" Lisa says. With that I say goodbye to them and then we wave them off.

"Sorry about the random singing and dancing in the street" Lisa says as we make our way slowly to my car.

"It's fine. It looked fun. You all laughed it was fun to watch. But I'm curious why" I say.

"It's one of my favourite songs that got me through things, So I made it that whenever it came on, no matter who I'm with or what I'm doing it's law to sing and dance to it. Emma loves it just as much as me, as you can see. My family find it fun as well. Plus my bodyguards well they get in the spirit just as much, as well which you can clearly see" Lisa says.

"Thats some story and it pretty impressive you get so many people joining you. I can tell by the song its a uplifting song as well. It works perfectly" I say smiling.

"Yes, so know you know. And if your with me when I the song strikes you should be prepared to join in" Lisa says laughing

"Okay, I've been warned. I shall go learn the song and try to remember it word by word after all I can't be looking like a fool not knowing the words" I say smiling as we reach my car.

"I bet you were well confused" Lisa says.

"I was, but like I said it was fun to watch, that's for sure indeed" I say helping Lisa into the car before getting in myself into the car as well.
